tomtjh90
Karanka has decided to leave Boro for China, Many assumed he'd reject any advances to guide Boro in the 1st Season back in The Premier League after guiding the club to promotion last season though Karanka has said an opportunity like this is tough to turn down and must think about his family in this situation. Karanka is said to be sadden to leave the club but wishes them the best for the future. It is rumoured the club could replace Karanka with former player & current U-18 Manager Tom Hosking. tomtjh90
Hosking of course was forced to retire from the game early due to various injuries, He burst on to the scene as a 16 year old for Boro scoring on his Premier League debut against Liverpool in October 2006. He later that year won his first England Cap he then left Boro for Barcelona in January 2009 for £25 Million which resulted in A Champions League medal for the midfielder, he won the Champions League again in 2011 scoring the winner in the dramatic Semi-Final. Injuries had always played a toll though and blighted a world class players career. He was forced to leave Barcelona by Mutual Consent in January 2013 due to the injuries he had suffered to his back & hips. He re-joined Middlesbrough until the end of the season but only made 5 appearances, he retired that summer and joined the clubs Coaching Staff & last year took over the club's U-18 team. Hosking as a player made 23 England Caps scoring 11 times, were it not for injury would of no doubt become one of the countries all time greats. Many have said he has shown the best Engllish Potential since Paul Gascoigne. 'I am delighted & honoured to have been given this opportunity, Even as a teenager I had always had ambitions of coaching and have been taking my badges since I was 17, I have learnt a lot at the club and also travelling around the world to various clubs, the last few months managing the youth team has also prepared me well. I know the club, the players and I am confident of having a good season.' Chairman Steve Gibson has said on the appointment 'Tom is a superb young coach and of course has a great history with the club. We instantly spoke to Tom after Aitor's departure and believe he is a fantastic appointment, his lack of managerial experience again is not an issue as I believe managers need to be given opportunities to shine which I fully expect Tom to do here.' tomtjh90
Manager Tom Hosking has strengthened his first team squad ahead of the new season. Versatile Real Madrid defender has joined on loan as well as Athletico's defensive midifelder Thomas Partey and Swedish full back Ludwig Augustinsson. All 3 players are seen as squad players with the hope they can break in to the team and help his squad. 'All 3 guys are international footballers so come with a bit of pedigree yet all have room to improve, After selling James to Burnley Ludwig gives us another option at LB, same with Nacho, Thomas can help in midfield as due to Grant Ledbitter's injury we are a little short in that area.' said manager Tom Hosking. 'The only other business we intend to do is a few younger lads we are looking at. We hope to wrap any business shortly though.'
