Wing-Play 4-2-3-1

Hi,

I haven't played FM since 2013 so it took a while to get used to the new tactic set-up feature.  However I came up with a good attacking one that allows stronger sides to score lots of goals. I have outlined the positives and negatives with it and it would be great to get your feedback on what improvements could be made.

- Higher Tempo

- Time Wasting: Fairly Rarely

- Width: Wide

- Defence Line: Deeper

- Closing Down: More

- Use Tighter Marker selected

- Passing Directness:  Shorter Passing

- Attack: Look for overlap

RCB

Defensive Centre Back set to "Defend". 

Added instructions: Close down much more, Mark tighter. 

LCB

Central Defender set to "Stopper". 

Added instructions: Close down more, Mark tighter. 

R/LWB

Set to Wingback "Support".

Added instructions: Mark tighter, Close down more, Stay wider, Run with ball wide. 

RCM

Central Midfielder set to "Defend". 

Added instructions: Mark tighter, More direct passing., Close Down Much More. 

LCM

Ball Winning Midfielder set to "Support". 

Added instructions: Mark tighter, More direct passing. 

R/LWG

Set to Wingback "Support".

Added instructions:  Close down more, Get further forward.

AM 

Advanced Playmaker set to "Attack". 

Added instructions: Close down more, Get further forward.

ST

Poacher set to "Attack". 

Added instructions: Close down more.

Pros

- Good goal scoring ratio

- Lots of chances created 

- Wing-play stretches the opposition 

- Your AM will get into the box giving you more scoring opportunities 

- Your midfielders do a good job winning the ball and spreading the ball around 

 

Cons

- Gaps are left at the back and can be exploited 

- You are vulnerable to the counter attack 

- You will concede goals, so expect this. 

 

Changes Made (from version 1.0-1.4) 

Added:

- "Look to overlap" for overall tactic.

- WB "run wide with ball". 

- WB "stay wider". 

- AM "get further forward".

 

Player Position/Tactic Changes:

- LCB changed from "defend" to "stopper". 

- Team shape changed from "fluid" to "flexible".

 

Removed:

I will try this since its one of the few with wingers.
