Warg92 Posted November 28, 2016 Share Posted November 28, 2016 Hello, and welcome to my save with Ta´ Xbiex SC! In this save I will try to make Ta´ Xbiex SC european giants with only youth players! It will be a long lasting save, and very hard, I guarantee that. I'm planning on doing three to four updates each season. Pre, middle, and end. "Why Malta?" you might ask yourself. Well, I've always been a fan of youth only saves, and I have been following the people that (In my opinion) do the best ones. And one thing that I have never seen is a Maltese youth only. I know malta isnt as "bad" as San Marino, Andorra, Faroese Islands, and so on, but they are not really great, are they? I chose Ta´ Xbiex SC, as they are in the fourth tier of Maltese football, and predicted to be second to last. I meant to use Zebbug Rovers, but I realized that they play in a separate league that do not promote in to the top four leagues. After my previous two saves crashed this year (with other databases), I've simulated 30 years into this database, and everything seems okay. So, on with it! The Club Nothing to brag about here. Warg92 Posted November 29, 2016 Author Share Posted November 29, 2016 Mid Season 16/17 Well, we have been right where I thought we would be really. Above the expectations, but below the top teams. Some bad, some good. The really bad one was against Msida SJ, as that is a derby. Everyone lost their morale after that one. We also participated in a cup. The game we won was against a team in the league above us, and the team that beat us play in the second div. This will help the team grow. I hope at least. And I actually got what I wanted! But, they are not great. At all... Everyone has 5* pot, but that is of course normal at this stage of the save. The three "best" from this year. I have no idea how they think I've played 4-3-3. I used it in two, maybe three games. Anyway, Malcolm Mamo was voted player of the season. And I have to agree, he performed really well for us. The entire squad, sorted after avg rating. One problem though, we will lose 5 players that have played many games this year. We have played extremely well, and as I hoped, the youth players have really stepped it up! There is one problem though, my best player this season, Josmar Vassallo (JR01m) just broke his ankle, and will be out for 4 months. He has been involved in 13 of our 22 goals, so far this season. I really like that! That one of them is a DM makes it even better, as the only good DM we have will retire at the end of the season. I did not at all expect this! The players really performed well this season, and we actually promoted! One thing that is weird though, is that Kirkop have better goal difference than us. And in the league rules it does say that the position is based off GD. But we still came a place above them. We got this HUUUGE payout... Malcolm Mamo won this year as well, but I think 66% is a bit too much. Adn again, I did not play a SINGLE game with a 4-3-3 formation... In the cup we lost against Sirens, a team that play in the second division, so we did well, in my opinion. Then THIS happened I think all of our strikers just left. Not a single goal in 5 games! And then we started winning again. Let's just hope that it stays like that. Still doing awesome in the league! Or a winger... Anything but CM or CDM really... We got another player with good CA, and he is a Right Back. We really don't need that at this moment, but he's much better than our current one, so I'll take it! We also got a Keeper with good potential, I might actually throw him into to goal at once. And after the start off the season it really looked good. Then we had that horrible streak without any wins in 5 games. But, we surprised everyone! Even me! I have no idea how we did it. But I don't care! It was very close though, all the three teams on 37 points actually had chance on promotion, but they screwed it up! Malcolm Mamo was voted Player of the Season again, no surprise really. Finances are still looking good. The only reason for that is the chairman keep spitting in money. We're having problems with teams in the leagues below us right now. I'm guessing it will be a battle in the league this year. The two losses came after our PotS the last three year, Malcolm Mamo, broke his leg in the game against Gharghur. He will be out for 5-6 months. Warg92 Posted December 1, 2016 Author Share Posted December 1, 2016 End of the season 19/20 Again, at the start of the season, all I really hoped for was a mid table finish. We started out extremely well, and actually was on top with 9 points down to the second place at one time. Then Malcolm Mamo broke his leg, and all went down the drain. But, we managed some wins, and this was the table going into the last game of the season. And this how it will be decided who the gets the qualification place. We met Lija, who had the chance to win the league. Gharghur met Melita, a team battling against relegation. Here's the proof that we really screwed everything up. The red line is where Malcolm Mobo broke his leg. Well, how did it go? We won! And we secured the third place, and the Q spot! In that game we met Sliema Wanderers. I had high hopes going in to the game, then this happened. Every single player was on holiday... Why?!... Oh why... And of course, fielding 11 grey players we really had no chance. Had some great saves in Malta, I think the only bug in this database is the playoffs one - the lower league team has all gray players every time I think. I was gonna say it will be interesting to see if any Norwegian/Crimean youth players show up and that's exactly what happened. I guess more will follow through the years, unfortunately until you're semi-pro any solid player will leave you pretty quickly. Perhaps the most annoying thing is that we lost every game with one goal. The 0-3 loss against Gharghur were even worse. Especially since they were last when we played them. No striker. But we got two 4.5* CA players. The GK goes straight into the team. Too bad we got a right midfielder, as that is our strongest position. Still a good intake tho. We placed third last year, and I felt it was possible if everyone played up to their best. We started the season horrible, and I did not believe we could make it. Then, suddenly, everything clicked, we starting winning, and everything looked better. In the 0-4 loss against Zebbug Rangers, Christian Cuschieri got a red card after 4 mins... After that, we never looked back. BOV Premier League, here we come! Secured the promotion after the 3-0 win against Vittoriosa S. Therefore I fielded some players that normally would not play. We scored the most goals, but we also let in a lot of goals. And that's something we really have to change when going into the Premier League. Now then, over to the cup. The last couple of years, I really did not care about the cup. And we went out after I fielded some players that did not play in the league. This year, I thought I would give it a go. The three first games we teams in the same league as us, or below. And we won them all. Next up, Sliema Wanderers, the team that beat us in the qualification last year. A nice 2-1 game, we had more chances than them, and really deserved this. Then we met Pembroke Athleta. Squeezed through, after a close game. And of course because their players sucked at penalties! Next up, Tarxien Rainbows, the fourth placed Premier League team. We should NOT have won this, as they were the best team overall. Our shots were from horrible places. But, AGAIN, their players f...ed up their penalties, and we won! That's right! Many many years before I thought we have a place in the Euro Cup! More on that in the next update. First game in Slovenia. Look at all those shots we had! WOW! At home, in Malta. SO close! They really were the better team in this one as well, but we almost made it to penalties... We actually had the third place in our pockets, but we failed miserably the second half of the season. We held on to the fourth place in the league thanks to our goal difference. We could not replicate what we did in the cup, and got knoced out by Valletta, smashing us 0-4. The BOV Super Cup is the winner of the Cup vs the winner of the League. Valletta won everything this year, and that really helped us. Because of this, we qualified for the EURO Cup for the second year in a row! Awards, stats and best eleven. On paper, this team looked a bit worse than the team we met last year. Very good result for us! That away goal may have been a lifesaver. We managed to hold on, even though they were the better team. Next up, austrian FB Admira Wacker Mödling They really have som good players, the LEAST valuable player in their starting 11 is worth more than our club! We had one shot on goal in the entire game, and we were lucky not to concede more goals. ' In this game we were even more lucky! But, that doesnt matter, we lost anyhow...
