The Carlos Ruiz Challenge

This challenge is pretty straight forward really. But who is Carlos Ruiz you may ask?

Earlier this year footballer Carlos Ruiz, now aged 37 set a pretty amazing record in World Football. He plays for Guatemala and recorded 39 goals in World Cup Qualifiers alone. (His total amount of goals stands at 68 for his country). Of course a lot of these goals comes from playing qualifiers against low reputation countries. As a comparison though Zlatan Ibrahimovic stands at 19, Luis Suarez at 17, and Lionel Messi is not even in the top 30 all time.

The challenge:

Start a (new) game in FM17, full version, touch or mobile.

You may for this challenge chose to be manager just for a International Team or both International and Club manager. You may choose whatever reputation and experience as you like your manager to be, the same goes for nationality and languages spoken. (But if you want it cross-reference with other challenges so check the regulations in those challenges.) You may chose whatever nation to manage, and you don't need to earn the right to manage them, as you can start there from the beginning.

The aim is to manually count the number of goals one (or more) of your players scores for his country in World Cup Qualifiers only. So goals from other competitions, the World Cup finals it self doesn't count. To overcome Carlos Ruiz the player will have to score 40 goals or more, as the record now stands at 39 goals. In addition the player should maintain a scoring average of above 0.75 goals per match.

One more rule, the goals have to be scored under your management, so current players all start at 0. This also means you can't play the games in "holiday mode" you have to manage the games yourself (friendlies etc. can be holidayed but not the World Cup Qualifiers).

It will be fun to see what nations people will choose to manage here, and I will keep record of the highest scorers.
