60th minute: A corner for Swindon. There's a lot of red shirts in the box for this one. Gonsalves hits the ball in... IT'S ALESSANDRO LONGOOOOO......OH HOW DID THAT NOT GO IN! That looke destined for the net, but between the Blackpool defence and goalkeeper they've managed to keep it out.

69th minute: Allan dribbling with the ball on the right hand side of Swindon's half. He passes it to Keita who is in a more central position, Keita knocks it up to Taggart who is just outside the box with his back to goal, Taggart twists his way past 1 red shirt... oh and he's got away from the other one...IT'S TAGGART!!!!! THE NORTHERN IRISHMAN HAS DOUBLED BLACKPOOL'S LEAD WITH HIS SECOND GOAL OF THE GAME!!! IT'S SWINDON TOWN 0-2 BLACKPOOL and you have to say that it's a very long way back for Adam Hart's Swindon side now.

75th minute: It's looking quite bleak for Swindon at the moment, but if they get a goal back soon you can't write them off completely. They've got substitute Scott Beale coming forward with the ball now, he finds Blackmore ahead of him, Blackmore spots Eddie Hunt just outside the Blackpool box...Hunt to have a strike... oh and it's a good save from Jodi Wells to deny him!

84th minute: Swindon really are running out of time now. If anything it looks like Blackpool might get another. They've got Ryan Kennedy sprinting away on the counter, he finds substitute Aaron May ahead of him, it's Aaron May who try to go it alone here... oh and that's a decent save from Connor Monelle to keep Swindon in the game for the time being.

93rd minute: It's been a sad day for Swindon fans. Their side have given their all but Blackpool have been the much better side on the day, surely they'll be put out of their misery any moment now...yes! The referee has blown his whistle. It's all over. The Blackpool fans, players and staff celebrate wildly, as Adam Hart watches on. You'd certainly pay a penny for his thoughts right now!

We can't complain too much as Blackpool were much the better side and dominated us for pretty much all of the game. A real shame to miss out on promotion, but if I have to see anyone go up I guess I'd rather it was Blackpool who I've helped build back up over the last few years. I'm fairly confident we will go up next season anyway, hopefully we can join them if they stay up.

In what was to be Markus Weinzeri's last ever season in management, he went out with a bang by winning yet another league title for Chelsea. Rosicky's Arsenal came just 3 points behind in 2nd, with Sergiy Rebrov's City in 3rd and Fletcher's United in 4th. Darren Fletcher made up for 4th place by winning the FA Cup and the Champions League though, with the Red Devils beating Lloris' PSG side to claim their 3rd CL in 5 years. Man City, maybe motivated by that too, decided they'd had enough of Rebrov and sacked him, their replacement was an interesting choice, Wes Morgan formerly of Leicester City fame, who has spent the last 9 years managing Sevilla.

It was a good season for West Ham who finished 5th, with Newcastle also doing well to get 6th, ahead of Liverpool and Tottenham in 7th and 8th. Spurs' 8th place finish saw Leighton Baines sacked, the former Premier League and Champions League winner as United manager surely can't believe his drop off since then. It was an even worse season for Southampton though, as they were relegated to the Championship after 23 years of top flight football.

Wrexham's rise up the Football League continues as they gained automatic promotion from League 2 under manager N'Golo Kante, with Barrow joining them. Meanwhile, an awful season for Scunthorpe who exit the Football League after finishing rock bottom of League 2. Morecambe went down again after coming straight back up last season. Preston North End won the Conference to avoid their absence from the Football League being too extended.

An updated look at the Overall HOF now that everybody in the Top 20 has officially retired. I'm interested to see if anyone can actually break out onto and up the leader-board in the near or long term future. Darren Fletcher is a prime candidate if he can stay at United for the rest of his career, he's 61 but has 2,289 points already, so another 8 or 9 years at United and you'd have to fancy him to get on the leader-board.

Marcus Llorente is only 50 years old and has 1,473 points, the key factor is that he's at Real Madrid who are dominating La Liga and doing well in the Champions League every now and then. If he can manage to stay there for a number of years his points will rack up and up and he could well make it up there by the time he calls it a day. Neymar is 53 and has spent the last 13 years of his career managing his hometown club of Santos. He's won various Brazilian trophies and is currently on 2,574 points, so whilst he probably won't rise up the list dramatically, if he stays at Santos he will slowly move up.

There aren't really any other candidates who particularly stand out, I guess a regen manager who I don't really keep tabs on could do something impressive. It will be interesting to see who gets the Chelsea job once Weinzeri is officially retired though, as that's certainly a good job to have.

A hell of a lot of players left this summer as a result of their contract expiring. The main departures that saw us actually get some money were Gonsalves going to Southend and Campbell to Barrow. This helped give us even more money in wages which was much appreciated.

ba0b9b713b6923a64098672caf1ed1e7.png

We had a lot of bodies to replace so we did just that. Notable signings include: RB Glyn Ramsey, CBs Joseph Diallo & David Watt, LB David Doyle, MR Regis Mputu, CM Dominic Barlow, LM Daniel Andrews-Harrington and ST Simon Buchan.

I'm feeling good about the new season. The board want to win the league, which is a big expectation to live up to, but we are by far the biggest wage spenders in the league and should in theory have the best squad so their expectations are not unrealistic or too much. I would definitely be disappointed if we don't get automatic promotion at least.

In a way I think it's good for Blackpool as there were in an Auto spot most of the season.

Hopefully you can daddy the league this year and add another title to the trophy cabinet.

The new MR valued at 5.5m could be handy for making a big profit on!  Barlow looks good too, 16 passing in league 1 :)

August

A good start in the EFL Trophy with a 4-1 win against Reading U23s.

db0b70d3ad2e0bd079c5e8c716206212.png

We also won against Plymouth 3-1 in the League Cup to get through to the next round, where we faced Championship side Leicester.

1d592f2e2c33723949d1969b611aa841.png

We were up against it for much of the game but we got a fairly late 2nd half equaliser and took them to penalties. Despite missing our first two penalties, we still managed to beat them and go through. We earned ourselves a game against Premier League side Everton.

78a015a5d2ec710b392fef3acadffa25.png

We've struggled to translate the good cup performances over to the league, with just 1 win, 2 draws and 2 losses from our first 5 games. I'm sure our form will pick up sooon though as we're too good a side to not start winning games regularly.

FFS this isn't good :D I don't know what I've done here. I'm hungover but I'm pretty sure I haven't done that thing where I accidentally storm out of a press conference, which has got me sacked before. This came after a loss to Fleetwood Town that came after a poor start to September with a 0-0 draw and an away loss to Hereford. It still seems a bit early for the board to be going nuts at me for not being on target to win the league though, so maybe I have done something. I send my assistants to the media stuff though and for the media bits for this particular loss he did a presser as normal.

FFS I practically beg them to keep the job, look like a right mug in the process and they've still sacked me over nothing :D If they were gonna sack me over the poor start I'd still think it was harsh but at least a bit more understandable than this.

This whole Swindon move has been an absolute disaster :D I lasted just 5 months ffs!

I've got to late October and so far have been passed on for the Portsmouth and Bolton job, which were both jobs that I would've loved to have got. My reputation does seem to have taken a kicking since I got sacked and I think if I was still employed the Portsmouth and Bolton jobs are the sort of ones I could get. I may have to lower my expectations but I'm hoping I can at least get a standard League 1 side, rather than a sleeping giant League 1 side.

Old Franky Lampard hasn't been up to scratch this season and he's gone and got sacked. They've gone and hired me to replace him haven't they!

I ended up having to settle for £800 per week so that they would stick in a 50 percent get out clause. A big drop down but Gillingham are a slightly smaller club so you have to accept these things. Just under £1.5M in the bank though so not a complete write off.

Obviously looking quite bleak at the minute for them, but the board have expectations of a mid-table finish and the same side finished 13th last year, so I'm hoping with me coming in as a fresh manager we can get them rising up the league in no time. Of course there's a chance I will be in for a real relegation battle and worst case scenario we go down to League 2, but I'm hoping that won't be the case.

The stadium pic isn't that accurate I suppose as it seems in 2029 they got a new stadium, the "Gillingham Stadium" which holds 16,575. I'm not really sure why they did this as they only average around 10,500 which would've surely fit into Priestfield which wasn't thaaaat old, but IDK.

"Alright Adam, we're officially announcing you as our manager tomorrow. It's the same day as our FA Cup 2nd Round trip to Crewe, we're leaving Gillingham at bright and early, make sure you're there.

"No problem lads! I'll be there bright and early"

"Adam, it's 8AM, where the **** are you?"

"I'm right outside the ground man. I can't see you guys anywhere. I've got to say, I really thought the stadium would be a bit bigger than this you know"

"What are you, front entrance, back entrance? We're a medium sized League 1 side Adam, our ground isn't that small for where we are"

"I'm at the front entrance. I'm telling you, I can't see you"

"Are there any landmarks? What can you see?"

"I'm looking straight at the club crest on the main wall. See...Gillingham Town. I'm right here"

"Did you say Gillingham Town...?"

"Yeah man. I'm right here"

"Look at your sat nav Adam. Where does it say you are?"

"I'm right here in Dorset"

"Dorset?!? Why the **** are you in Dorset?! You idiot! You've got the wrong Gillingham! Jump in a taxi immediately and meet us in Crewe!"

We lost in the EPL Trophy but I'm not too fussed about that really, especially as we got through to the 3rd Round of the FA Cup. We've actually managed to get Spurs at the 61,000 capacity 'New White Hart Lane', so that should be another fun one.

An absolutely fantastic month, with 4 wins out of 5. The first league game against fellow relegation battlers Derby was fantastic, as the last minute winner was really sweet. The rest of our run was actually really hard, with Blackburn, Ipswich, Bristol Rovers and Millwall all being at least in the Playoff positions when we played them, so to come out of it undefeated with 3 wins out of 4 games was incredible. I'm sure the new manager syndrome has played a part and our form will drop off soon, but what a way to start my time in Gillingham.

We've put 4 points and goal difference between us and the relegation zone. I'm hoping we can push on from this in the new year.

1st minute: We're underway at New White Hart Lane! Spurs of course moved here in 2018 with the promise of the side pushing on to bigger and better things, but apart from the Champions League win in 2020, a few Europa League wins and 2 FA Cups in 2021 and 2031, they've actually regressed considerably in the Premier League. They haven't finished in the Top 4 for over 25 years, with their 5th place finish in 2041/42 representing their highest finish in the last 15 years. Just over 10 years ago they of course finished 17th, narrowly avoiding relegation in what was an embarrassing season for all involved. The Scotsman Stephen Mallan is their current manager and he'll be hoping to push on after Leighton Baines failed to live up to expectations in the two years he was here.

13th minute: Gillingham have started well. There's a fair few blue shirts coming forward. Coyle in the middle, he's squared it out to the left for Jose Antonio, Jose Antonio darts past the Premier League right back, Narvaez....and he could get a cross in, Jose Antonio whips it into the box...Jefferson in goal punches it clear but it falls on the edge of the area to MACLENNAN....OHHH IT'S JUST GONE OVER THE BAR! A half chance early on in the game for the away side!

20th minute: Spurs have a throw in on the left hand side, right near the Gilingham box. Aljo throws it towards Lala, he picks it up nicely and finds Quinn just outside the middle of the box, he's found NARVAEZ THE RIGHT BACK...OHHHH IT'S CANNONED OFF THE POST AND COME BACK OUT... THE GOALKEEPER CAN'T GET THERE AND COSTANZOOOO....Spurs take the lead! A fortunate rebound but they won't mind. It's TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 1-0 GILLINGHAM

23rd minute: Quinn bringing the ball forward for Spurs. He finds Midturn ahead of him, it's Midturn, he's into the box, there's two white shirts near the far post but Midturn might go it alone...IT'S MIDTURN...OHH IT'S TAKEN A DEFLECTION AND...IT'S GONE IN! That might well go down as an own goal I think. Either way it's Spurs who have doubled their lead and you have to say it's a very long way back for Gillingham now. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 2-0 GILLINGHAM

38th minute: Gillingham have a corner. It's their first of the match and a good chance to get some men into the box. Captain Coyle to take it...Dean Cooke gets his head to it... a Spurs player heads it away but it's fallen to JOSE ANTONIO...A SMART SAVE FROM JEFFERSON IN THE SPURS GOAL!

44th minute: Gillingham praying for the half-time whistle, but Spurs will be quite happy for this to go on for a bit longer. Dja Djedje leading a counter attack of sorts, he finds Lala on the edge of the box who plays a lovely quick pass for Costanzo to run onto...he's 1 on 1 with the goalkeeper...will it be 3...IT WILL! A powerful low strike from close range and the keeper wasn't saving that! IT'S TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 3-0 GILLINGHAM and they're out of sight now.

54th minute: Gillingham have come out looking a bit better in this half, but it could just be that Spurs are happy with what they've got and are content to let The Gills have the ball. Hawthorne with it, trying to find O'Reilly in the box, but Spurs' defence are holding strong, Hawthorne's holding it up, he's found Jose Antonio out wide who will cross first time...IT IS O'REILLY... a poor header in the end that Jefferson deals with comfortably.

69th minute: Spurs have a dangerous looking free-kick. It's Costanzo who stands over it. He's already got 2 goals, a goal from 25 yards would make a fine hat-trick for him. COSTANZO.... ohhh and that's only just gone over the bar. An inch or two and that could have been 4-0.

86th minute: Spurs have a free kick from more or less on the line of the Gillingham box. It's right on the left corner of the box at an awkward angle, it still looks like Aleksi Aijo may have a crack on his left foot though. It's ALEKSI AIJOOO....ohhhh.... it's curled it's way right into the middle of the goal. Perhaps the Gills keeper should do better but it's a fine strike nonetheless. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 4-0 GILLINGHAM
