I have a Macbook Pro Retina, 2,3ghz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, SSD, and NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB / Intel Graphics 4000 1536MB.

It is given 0,5 star for graphics in the game. Last year on FM16 the matchengine was no trouble at all, everything was smooth.

Now it is lagging on on middle graphical settings.

Why is it so much worse this year?

Also, is it not 64mbit version this year, and the game should be alot faster with 16GB RAM and a i7 processor?

I have not noticed this at all.

Is it a setting I need to check out or something to make the game run faster and smoother?

nope this is an issue with all macs.... have pretty much the same mac not identical.

2.2 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

There is another thread with a guy having the same identical issue with the familiar mac specs.  Able to crush FM15 and FM16 but this time round nothing works...  the only solution is to untick retina display in the preferences and enjoy a very pixellated FM17.  also cant get info and untick open in low resolution for the game either.

apparently the system in FM17 has been "improved" and by improved they mean broke something wasn't broken in the first place from the previous titles.

Thanks for the response!

Is anyone from SI Games looking at this issue?

If this is a issue is for all, or for many mac users, this should be a known issue, and the developers are aware of it?

Hope someone from SI Games will give a response to this thread and give us some good news :)

i have made it well aware and others, but the response we been keep getting is...

the system has been improved and our integrated graphics cards arent good enough.  still doesnt explain why a glorified spread sheet still runs slow never alone the 3D engine.

if a fix is on the way we dont know and judging from all the admins responses doesnt sound like there is going to be.  despite the game is broken plain and simple.

The game is not "worse" this year. You are comparing a 64-bit application to a 32-bit one, and 64-bit application with a lot new features compared to an older version of the game which is 32-bit.

It's not categorically not worse. The game will demand more resources from your system as it is a newer title and as a 64-bit application will use more resources as it can do.

I would suggest if the Match is lagging that you reduce the 3D graphics quality and reduce the size of the screen resolution, or that of your FM window.

Thank you for the response :)

Shouldn´t the game be able to utilize all the resources better, 16>4GB RAM (4GB max use of RAM in 32bit?), use the processor better, and so on. That should make the game faster?

The game otherwise is ok, apart from the fan go mental all the time, but why is the graphics so much harder to run, the same visual graphics was absolutely doable in FM16.

Does the graphics in 17, which is marginally better, use so much more resources?

IF this issue is not solvable, what spec should one go looking for in a computer to get this game running smoothly, both graphical and otherwise?

RAM is memory, not speed.

There have been a lot of upgrades to the graphics this year. I appreciate you may think they are the same but side by side compared to FM16 there is a big difference.

The main contributing factor to the need for increased performance will be playing the game at higher resolutions. You'd notice a bigger difference playing at a lower resolution.

Oki, I guess there is more behind the curtains than meets the eye.

You guys must have a specification to be able to run the game 100%, if so, please let me know what to look for in a new computer :)

We only provide minimums, everybody's tastes are different so it would be quite subjective to provide a maximum or recommended.

To all with lagging issues on your macs. Try setting the graphics at medium or high and only untick "crowd". On my MBP with the same specs as OPs, there's quite a difference in smoothness on the graphics plying without a crowd, and it's something SI should look in to right away...
