Raware Posted April 1, 2017 Author Share Posted April 1, 2017 Wing Yee - Season Review 2028/29 Hong Kong Premier League/Hong Kong Premier League progress/Hong Kong Premier League fixtures : For a second successive season we remained unbeaten in the league as Kitchee and South China were no match for us over the 20 games as we retained our title by finishing 14 points clear of South China in 2nd place. Hong Kong Community Cup : Early season bragging rights were ours as we demolished Kitchee in the season opener to claim the Community Cup for the 9th time in our history. Hong Kong Senior Shield : South China and Kitchee both took us to extra time on our journey in the Senior Shield which saw us come out on top on both occasions as we went on to beat Eastern in the final 2-0. Hong Kong League Cup/Hong Kong League Cup Group A : Again, we met South China and Kitchee on our journey in the League Cup this time as we beat them both again to go on and beat Eastern in another final, this time on penalties. Hong Kong FA Cup : We completed a clean sweep of domestic trophies in a season for the third time in our history as we beat South China 2-0 in the final. Hong Kong-Shanghai Interport Club Championship : We managed to get a draw in the 1st leg as we did last season but once again our away performance let us down in the 2nd leg as Shanggang beat us 3-0 to lift the trophy again. Asian Champions League/Asian Champions League Group F : Although we only managed to pick up 3 points during the group stage, we were so close to getting more as all 6 of our group games were very close, where in truth we could’ve won any of the games. Squad : Wong Ho Man (19N) finished the season as our top goal scorer again as he smashed in 33 goals in 36 games which takes him to 119 league goals in 167 league games now while he also claimed the Hong Kong Footballer of the Year award and the Hong Kong top goal scorer award. Hui Chun Ho (27N) also had a good season as he scored 15 times in 34 games while Ip Siu Ki (23L) had another great season as he claimed the Hong Kong Fans’ Player of the Year, Hong Kong Players’ Player of the Year and the Hong Kong Young Player of the Year awards again. Reserves/Under 18’s : Another good season for the reserves and the under 18’s as the reserves once again won the league while the under 18’s finished 3rd. Finances : Looking quite healthy now as we have over £500k in the bank! My views of the season… : A fantastic season for us as for the 3rd time in our history we completed a clean sweep of domestic trophies in one season as we won the Premier League, the Community Cup, the Senior Shield, the League Cup and the FA Cup (our other clean sweeps happened in the 2020/21 and the 2024/25 seasons). It was also a successful season off the field too as our finances look stable in comparison to previous seasons while our junior coaching went up another level to excellent now. My aims for next season… : The league is obviously the priority for us and while it’s always nice to win a cup, the domestic cups are clearly on the back seat as far as the board and chairman are concerned. I was pleased with how we did in the Champions League this season too and I’ll be looking for us to be just as competitive in it next season. I presume it's because I don't have the English leagues loaded and also, because they're nowhere near good enough to play for England but are of a decent enough standard to play for Hong Kong. I wasn't bothered who they chose to play for...I was just happy that I got one son, never mind two! I've waited long enough! . We're slowly improving as a club which is encouraging, especially given the bug which means we can't attract any season ticket holders. We came close to losing Lau Cheuk Yin (26N) in the summer as he wanted to move to a bigger club and was refusing to sign a contract extension but we finally managed to persuade him as he’s with us now until at least 2032. However, Chan Ho Man (27I), Lee Wing Ho (25J) and Hui Chun Ho (27N) have all handed in transfer requests as they all want to move to a bigger which would mean that if we did lose them, our squad would definitely be a lot weaker for it. Raware Posted April 9, 2017 Author Share Posted April 9, 2017 Wing Yee - Season Review 2029/30 Hong Kong Premier League/Hong Kong Premier League progress/Hong Kong Premier League fixtures : We made it 6 league titles in a row after losing just once all season as we finished 14 points ahead of 2nd place Kitchee :D. Hong Kong Community Cup : A tight season opener saw us overcome a resilient Eastern side as we beat them 2-1 to claim the Community Cup for a 10th time. Hong Kong Senior Shield : We successfully defended the Shield after beating Tai Po 2-0 in the final. Hong Kong League Cup/Hong Kong League Cup Group A : We successfully defended the League Cup too after beating a stubborn Yau Tsim **** side 1-0 in the final. Hong Kong FA Cup : We were unable to defend the FA Cup to make it a double clean sweep as Kitchee beat us in the semi final with a winner 3 minutes from time. Hong Kong-Shanghai Interport Club Championship : We finally managed to win this cup after finishing as runners-up 7 times as we beat Shanggang on penalties after a 3-3 draw in the first leg! Asian Champions League/Asian Champions League Group G : We made it out of the group stages for the first time in our history as we qualified ahead of Jeonnam and Giurare Yokohama which set us up against Seoul in the 2nd round. We gave it a good go but ultimately, they proved to be stronger than us as they beat 2-1 on aggregate. An amazing performance from us in the Champions League though and one that I’m delighted with. Squad : Wong Ho Man (19N) finished the season as our top goal scorer again as he scored 21 times in 35 games while Lau Cheuk Yin (26N) managed to hit 17 goals in 31 games. It was the emergence of my son though, Dean Rawlings(25O) that was pleasing for me as he seemed to finally reach the potential that he was touted to have as he scored 18 times in 31 games as he finished 2nd in the top goal scoring charts. Ip Siu Ki (23L) continued this season how he finished last season as he once again claimed the Hong Kong Fans’ Player of the Year, Hong Kong Players’ Player of the Year and the Hong Kong Young Player of the Year awards while he also claimed the Hong Kong Footballer of the Year award to make it a clean sweep of domestic personal awards for him. After 13 seasons at the club though, with 10 of those seasons as the club captain, it’s finally time to say goodbye to Lo Wai Chung (18I) as his contract expires in the summer and he just isn’t the player that he used to be anymore. He leaves us as the clubs record appearance maker with 221 games and 29 goals to his name. Reserves/Under 18’s : The reserves claimed the reserves league again while the under 18’s finished as runners-up as we now look to have strength in depth throughout the whole of the club. Finances : Not as healthy as this time last season as an increased wage bill has seen us lose a bit of money but we’re still in the black which is encouraging. My views of the season… : A fantastic season for us and in my opinion, the best season since I’ve been at the club as we won the league, the Community Cup, the Senior Shield, the League Cup and finally the Hong Kong-Shanghai Interport Club Championship while also progressing in the Champions League as we made it out of the group stages for the first time. A great season personally too as my ‘sons’ Ryan Rawlings (24A) surpassed 100 league appearances for the club while Dean Rawlings (25O) looks as if he’s found his scoring boots as he grabbed 18 goals this season. My aims for next season… : Next season will no doubt be tougher as both Kitchee and South China have both strengthened their squads with some real quality while the Hong Kong Premier League dropped 7 places in the Asian Competition Rankings meaning that the qualification places have changed as the league winners now have to go through the preliminary rounds to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League while the league runners-up only qualify for the Asian Confederation Cup…a big step back for Hong Kong football and disappointing for us after we’ve done so well in the Champions League this season. Ryan Rawlings (24A) is clearly developing more than Dean Rawlings (25O), but after waiting so long for a son, I don't think it'd have mattered if they were rated at one star, they'd still be first on the team sheet . Just got to get a stadium named after me now As for progressing in the Champions League, it did seem like we were progressing well but with the rapid decline of the HK league in the Asian competitions rankings, we'll have to go through the qualifying rounds again if we want to make it to the group stages. Your players are not quite as horrendous as I would've expected. What the hell is up with all those cups, Asia seems to love having a ton of competitions per season. I'm slightly surprised at the progress we've made too considering the limitations that we have like the season ticket 'bug', lack of finances and lowly reputations. We've progressed quite quickly considering how strong South China and Kitchee are in Hong Kong football and especially given that we're entirely reliant on youth products in this save. We do have some good players and not all are as horrendous as you'd think I'm not a big fan of all of the cup competitions either and if anything, they're a hindrance more than anything. As for the Asian Champions League...10 years?! ... we're well off any chance of winning it and will be for the foreseeable future as us as a club and Hong Kong football in general is no where near the standard of clubs in countries like China, South Korea, Japan or any of the middle eastern clubs. Chan Tsun Hei (31A), Keung Man Pan (31G), Leung Ho Yin (31H), Yu Chun Lok (31L), Chung Wai Kit (31N) and Lee Hoi Ming (31O) were also offered contracts with the remaining 9 youngsters being released from the club. Hong Kong Community Cup : We demolished Kitchee in the season opener to win the Community Cup for an 11th time. Hong Kong Senior Shield : We were given a tough draw in the first round as Kitchee beat us 2-1 to send us packing at the first hurdle. Hong Kong League Cup/Hong Kong League Cup Group B : We couldn’t defend our League Cup title as Southern District surprisingly beat us 1-0 in the semi final. Hong Kong FA Cup : We beat Tai Po 2-1 in the final to claim the FA Cup for the 8th time. Hong Kong-Shanghai Interport Club Championship : Having finally won this cup last season after finishing as runners-up the previous 7 years, we won it again after beating Shenhua 1-0 over two legs. Asian Champions League/Asian Champions League Group F : We scraped through the qualifier, the playoff, the group stage and the 2nd round to remarkably book our place in the Quarter Final (which will be played in the 2031/32 season) where we’ll meet Western Sydney Wanderers, who we actually met in the group stages. Squad : A fantastic season for the group of players as they won the league by winning every single game! Wong Ho Man (19N) once again finished the season as our top goal scorer as he scored 27 goals in 34 games while he also claimed the Hong Kong Footballer of the Year award and the Hong Kong Premier League top goal scorer award for the 7th time in 8 seasons. Lau Cheuk Yin (26N) had a decent season too as he claimed 16 goals in all competitions while Li Chi Keung (29M) had a good first season as at just 16 years old he claimed the Hong Kong Young Player of the Year award. Reserves/Under 18’s : The reserves once again won the reserves league while the under 18’s once again finished as runners-up in their league. Finances : Not looking good at all as we lost so much money this season, it puts us firmly into the red! My views of the season… : Another great season for us as we made history by winning every single league game, we won the Community Cup, the FA Cup, Hong Kong-Shanghai Interport Club Championship and we’re in the quarter final of the Asian Champions League! My aims for next season… : We’ll be expected to retain our league title again next season but whether we can win every game again, I’m not so sure. We’ll also play our ACL quarter final next season as the ACL and the ACC run from January to December where as the HK league season runs from August to May. We did brilliantly to reach the group stages so to reach the quarter final is a great achievement for a small Hong Kong club like us! The Hong Kong Premier League once again dropped down in the Asian Competition Rankings as it fell a further 5 places to 24th meaning that the qualification places have changed once again as the league winners now have to go through the first and second preliminary rounds as well as the playoff to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League while the league runners-up qualify for the Confederation playoff. Hopefully though, our success in the Champions League this season will help to boost the Hong Kong league ranking meaning that we won’t have to go through the preliminary rounds after next season. Wong Hon Man is sadly starting to decline now he's approaching 30 years old but hopefully I can get a few more goals out of him to at least break the 150 league goal mark for the club. As far as I know everything other than slack/temperamental is better than low determination, which would greatly increase his chance of reaching max potential. Thanks @a.panda I always get the older players to tutor the younger players (the older players are around 23/24 before they can tutor) so Dean Rawlings has been tutored about 4 or 5 times by Wong Ho Man and Ryan Rawlings has been tutored by various goalkeepers who were at the club earlier in the save Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

We did have another Brazilian come through our ranks though after the emergence of Cassio (31M) last season as Ricardo (32I) looks as if he could have a bright future, while Lo Hoi Ming (32B) , Tsang Siu Hong (32J), Wong Ho Yin (32K) and Kyren Clarkson (32N) were also offered contracts as the remaining 11 players were released from the club. Raware Posted May 16, 2017 Author Share Posted May 16, 2017 Wing Yee - Season Review 2031/32 Hong Kong Premier League/Hong Kong Premier League progress/Hong Kong Premier League fixtures : We once again ran away with the league as we finished 17 points ahead of South China in 2nd as we claimed our 11th league title. Hong Kong Community Cup : For the first time since the 2023/24 season, we lost the traditional curtain opener fixture as South China beat us 2-1 to win the Community Cup… it was South China who beat us the last time that we finished as runners-up. Hong Kong Senior Shield : We made up for last seasons early exit in this competition as we went on to beat Yau Tsim **** 5-2 in the final. Hong Kong League Cup/Hong Kong League Cup Group C : After last seasons shock exit in the semi final to Southern District, this was another competition that we made amends in as we beat South China in the final to claim our 10th League Cup. Hong Kong FA Cup : Another cup that saw us meet Yau Tsim **** in a final this season as the end result was the same as it was in the Senior Shield as we claimed the FA Cup for the 9th time. Hong Kong-Shanghai Interport Club Championship : We couldn’t make it 3 times lucky as Shanggang beat us over the two legs. Asian Champions League : We continued with last seasons Champions League at the Quarter Final stage where we met Western Sydney Wanderers, but despite us putting up a good fight in the 2nd leg, we lost 4-3 on aggregate to send us out of the competition. Onto this seasons Champions League and because of the fall in reputation of the Hong Kong league, it meant that we had to go through the preliminary rounds which saw us dispose of April 25 and Ballena Shizuoka in the 1st and 2nd rounds. We met Quanjian in the East Playoff with the winner qualifying for the group stage but the Chinese side proved to be too strong for us as they beat us 3-1, meaning that we’ll be playing in the Confederation Cup this season instead of the Champions League. Asian Confederation Cup/Asian Confederation Cup Group H : We qualified for the Confederation Cup after being eliminated from the Champions League as we were placed in Group H. We easily qualified from the group as we won all of our games and then beat Geylang Int in the 2nd round meaning that we’ll play Lebanese side Al-Nejmeh in the Quarter Final next season. Squad : Another great season from the squad of players as despite many people in the media writing Wong Ho Man (19N) off, he once again finished the season as our top goal scorer as he scored 31 goals in 39 games while also claiming the Hong Kong Premier League top goal scorer award. My son Dean Rawlings (250) also had a great goal scoring season too as he netted 21 times in 34 games as he also picked up his first international cap for Hong Kong. while Lee Wing Ho (25J) claimed the Hong Kong Young Player of the Year award and the Hong Kong Players Player of the Year award. Reserves/Under 18’s : The reserves won the reserves league for the 6th consecutive year while the under 18’s won their league too for the first time since 2024/25. Transfers : For the first time in this save, we received a substantial transfer offer for one of our players as Quanjian offered £150K for Chan Wai Chung (29E). Given that his contract was expiring at the end of the season and he was refusing to sign a new contract as he wanted to move to a bigger club, it made sense to cash in on him even though it meant that we lost one of our best players. Finances : We’re out of debt at the minute but only because of a bank loan taken out by the board and chairman. My views of the season… : While we didn’t quite match last seasons accomplishments of winning every league game, we did go the entire league season without losing game as we retained our league title. We also won the Senior Shield, the League Cup and the FA Cup while we’re still in the Asian Confederation Cup which sees us play our Quarter Final fixture next season. We were also the subject of another takeover halfway through the season as new chairman Leung Chun Wai took control of the club as he wiped out the clubs debt by taking out a loan, but unfortunately provided no other investment. My aims for next season… : The league title is a must now, especially as we’re now favourites for the title while the domestic cups will give me a chance to play more of the fringe and younger players seeing as they’re low down on the boards priorities. With the slight increase in the Hong Kong Premier League’s reputation in the Asian Competition Rankings it means that next season we’ll enter the Champions League at the 2nd preliminary round too while we’ll also be aiming to go as far as we can in the Confederation Cup to hopefully win it for the 4th time. They've done well in the past couple of years and only just narrowly missed out on qualifying for the final stages of the World Cup Asian Qualifying stage by 2 points as Thailand finished as the group winners. Saying that, even if they made it to the final stages, they've still got to beat the likes of Australia, Japan and China to qualify for the World Cup! Onto a personal note and I received some unexpected news during the summer as over the course of 15 years in this save, I’ve officially become the most decorated manager in Asia as I’ve topped the Asian Hall of Fame :D. This award led to my first job offer in this save too as I was offered the Spain job, but I decided to turn it down as this isn’t what this particular save is about at the minute as I’m focusing on youth development. Raware Posted May 30, 2017 Author Share Posted May 30, 2017 Wing Yee - Season Review 2032/33 Hong Kong Premier League/Hong Kong Premier League progress/Hong Kong Premier League fixtures : A much closer season this year as both South China and Kitchee strengthened their squads in the summer and this showed as South China pushed us all the way until the end. Hong Kong Community Cup : We made up for last seasons loss as we beat Yau Tsim **** 1-0. Hong Kong Senior Shield : A repeat of last seasons final as we beat Yau Tsim ****. Hong Kong League Cup/Hong Kong League Cup Group C : Another repeat of last seasons final, this time in the League Cup as we beat South China 2-0. Hong Kong FA Cup : We completed a clean sweep of domestic trophies for a 3rd time in our history as we beat Kitchee in the final. Hong Kong-Shanghai Interport Club Championship : Shanggang once again beat us as they proved to be too strong for us…and so they should with players priced at £10 million and £20 million and wages of £150,000 a week! Asian Champions League/Asian Champions League Group G : We scraped through the preliminary rounds and the playoff to make it through to the group stage which saw us given a massive slice of luck as we were drawn in the weakest group of the competition. We were placed alongside Indonesian side Bhayangkara FC, Japanese side FC Hiroshima and Australian side Adelaide United which saw us finish top of the group where we went on to beat Western Sydney Wanderers in the 2nd round as we’ve booked our place in the Quarter Final for the 2nd time in our history, which we’ll play next season. Asian Confederation Cup : We continued with last seasons Confederation Cup as we comfortably beat Nejmeh in the Quarter Final, Johor DT in the Semi Final and Home Utd in the final to claim the Asian Confederation Cup for a 4th time. Squad : The squad of players had a great season as they claimed a domestic clean sweep for a 3rd time in our history with much of that, again down to club legend Wong Ho Man (19N) who bagged 33 goals in 40 games as in the process he also claimed his 300th goal for the club in all competitions. He also went on to claim the Hong Kong Footballer of the Year award for a 4th time, the Hong Kong Fans’ Player of the Year award for a 2nd time and the Hong Kong Players’ Player of the Year award for a 2nd time while he also finished 2nd in the goal scoring charts. Lau Cheuk Yin (26N) also had a good season as he scored 18 times in 32 appearances while our young striker Yu Ka Wai (28P) had a good season on loan at South China as he scored 8 league goals in 15 league games while also claiming the Hong Kong Young Player of the Year award as he’ll return next season, looking to push for a place in the first team. Reserves/Under 18’s : The reserves are looking strong now with quite a few players definitely pushing for the first team in the next year or so as they finished as runners-up in the reserves league while the under 18’s also finished as runners-up in the under 18’s league. Transfers : A few players left us this season either on free transfers or on loan while Li Chi Keung (29M) will definitely be leaving us as he’ll be moving to South Korean side Jeonnam after his contract expired after refusing to sign a new contract with us. Finances : Not great at all as we’re close to half a million in debt. My views of the season… : A fantastic season for us that ranks alongside our 2024/25 season as we completed our 3rd domestic clean sweep while also claiming the Asian Confederation Cup for a 4th time as we also made it to the Asian Champions League Quarter Final. My aims for next season… : Obviously the league title is a necessity now while the domestic cups, although not important, are a bonus, but I’ll be fielding more of the fringe players for those competitions. We’ll be continuing our Champions League campaign too as we do, amazingly, have a chance of progressing further than the Quarter Final’s as the remaining teams left in the competition (Suwon, Adelaide United, Central Coast Mariners, Al-Ain, Wehdat, Al-Ahli (KSA) and Persepolis) aren’t the strongest that Asia has to offer. We won’t be getting ahead of ourselves though and we’ll have to be at our best if we’re to beat Adelaide United first, who we failed to beat in the group stages. The Hong Kong Premier League’s reputation in the Asian Competition Rankings grew too as it climbed 8 places meaning that next seasons league winners can bypass the preliminary rounds as they will automatically qualify for the Champions League group stage. I can totally see the Spanish national team just trying to hire that guy that is dominating Hong Kong. Exciting times here with things opening up in the Asian Champions League, hopefully you can make the most out of the opportunity, even going one round further and reaching the semi-finals would be a great achievement. Thanks @DodgeeD . Great news that the HK Premier League reputation has increased after taking such a quick drop to 24th. Ha ha...I know...I never realised that Hong Kong football was such a hotbed for future Spanish managers! We've definitely had that bit of luck in the Asian Champions League, especially with the group draw. Like you said, we've just got to make the most of this opportunity as it's not often that there's no stand out team in terms of quality in the last 8 of the Champions League! The Semi Final would be an amazing accomplishment for us, but first we've got to get past Adelaide United who we couldn't beat in the group stages.
