Some excellent new signings. They should help you cement a spot in midtable this season.

Thanks mate, hopefully yeah but the money coming into the club now is really helping, I think we're only a few years away from battling for European places!

AUGUST 2027

We have started fairly promising, I am still testing out various team selections but with 4 wins from 6 that is pretty satisfying but in terms of teams we have faced we have avoided the big boys so it was sort of expected. The loss against Graafschap though was poor.

Bt9boI.jpg

I am very impressed so far with Miranda & Lopes, we only picked them up by chance really due to our affiliation with Setubal in Portugal.

In the window we rejected a £475k bid from Heerenveen for Paulinho, he is 23 and worth £800k now! He is central to our plans and going nowhere,

SEPTEMBER 2027

Last month I was saying we were still yet to play the big boys and look what has happened this month when we did, we concede 7 goals, not a great month and it has to be said that gap between where we're at and the top teams is pretty significant, Vitesse though hammered us, they cut through us at will and it was rather worrying to see.

OCTOBER & NOVEMBER 2027

I was too angry to do an update at the end of October as my team was playing so poorly so I decided to power on into November and I am glad I did as, after a team meeting our results have really picked up including a resounding win away in the Amsterdam Arena, what a performance it was, not many teams will come here and rip them apart the way we did. We currently sit in 7th which is really good but I do have ambitions of breaking into that top 5 this season but only time will tell.

DECEMBER 2027

Going into the winter break we're looking in good shape, the loss at NAC Breda was unlucky we battered them but they stood firm and fair play to them I suppose. However, we then played superbly with back to back wins which now takes us to 6th place.

Ao9L7v.jpg

on4kL5.jpg

In terms of contracts we have one huge worry which is Paulinho my star defender won't talk to me about a new deal, his agent came to me a few months ago asking for an improvement and like an idiot I said no because I thought he had a year left but he doesn't, it's 6 months, that error could cost me and we could lose him for free, and all this comes after we turned down £800k for him in January. I am however pleased to announce that Vinogradov & Yumerski have agreed new deals. Maznev will be allowed to leave, he can't get into the team now and his ability as probably reached it's heights and that height is probably lower level Eredivisie. Finally, I have given Canales every chance with opportunities but he has flopped and what a waste of money he has been, I have sent him to the reserves to run down his contract,

JANUARY 2028

It's been such an hectic month here, first of all Paulinho eventually did sign a new 3 year deal, I bought his agents 15% share who I felt was a bad influence anyway and he agreed and two young players join the club, I did sign them both last season but they could only join now, here they are:

rnfCD8.jpg

1OloJj.jpg

I've also recently acquired a new parent club and my board managed to get Monaco! So we have signed these two on loan until the end of the season:

TrAoR1.jpg

In terms of results the defeat by Willem was so poor, we really need to find some consistency!

FEB - END OF SEASON

Sorry for the lack of updates, I was just bashing through the games so I thought I would do a post after the season has finished.

Here are the results and final league table. I have to say I am very impressed with how we managed to improve on last years 10th place finish, there's definite progress being made here and the players are responding well to what we're trying to do here.

TEYJGj.jpg

We now go into a playoff game against Cambuur for a European place!

Unfortunately it was not to be as we somewhat disappointingly bowed out to SC Cambuur 4-2 over two legs.

I'll be back in pre-season once I have decided where I need to strengthen the squad and of course once I have seen what budgets we have to work with etc.

SEASON PREVIEW:

As I do each season, let's take a look at what the media think:

lasrvQ.jpg

I have to say that given we finished 7th last season, to say we'll finish 14th is a bit underwhelming but I hope we can prove them wrong again.

I think FC Twente are going to be the team to watch this season, they have signed some marvellous South American talent.

I will update you next at the end of August and see how we have started. Here's my squad depth sheet for the season

AUGUST 2028

It's been a mediocre start to the season and after two losses in our first two games I was disgusted with my side and I am already tinkering with my system which is by no means ideal at this early stage but recent form has been far more encouraging but we have some tough games next month starting with Feyenord & Vitesse.

SEPTEMBER 2028

As usual it's one step back and then one step forward and finding any sort of consistency is an issue at the moment, I can't really complain against Vitesse but against Ado Den Haag we were so bad and we fell apart late in the game, we do have a young squad but I am expecting better.

OCTOBER 2028

Progress is slow here, despite us not winning in the league this month we have only dropped one place to 8th. It's getting a little stale here but I hope to see much better from the boys in the coming months.

KvgeBs.jpg

There is now a definite gap starting to appear, one which we will struggle to break this season for sure:

NOVEMBER 2028

It's been an interesting month and a very good month for us, the away win at Twente was unexpected but most welcome and the point against Ajax was a battling defensive display but as is typical with this team we then lose to Roda!

mhgxoH.jpg

HXR90A.jpg

I do have to remember just how young my side is but I hope we can push on for the second half of the season.

I am delighted to announce that Strukov has agreed a new deal, the Estonian wing back has been suberb this season with a 7.11 and looks to be maturing.

DECEMBER 2028

10 points from a possible 15 has shown us finish the year in decent form, there's still that consistency issue which has plagued us all season but overall I'm generally happy with performances, we've moved up 3 places since last time and it's a significant improvement.

FEB 2029

We drew a collective breath when Vinogradov scored at the death against Den Haag, before that we hadn't won in 5 games and it was really worrying. This result now gives us a little breathing space but there's no way we can relax. With our season looking like playoff hopefuls we're now looking over our shoulder but I think we should have enough for a mid table position.

March-May 2029

We really struggled for form towards the end of the season and in the playoffs we were overcome 4-3 by FC Groningen, there is a lot of work ahead for next season as I look to bring more youth in and a more structured approach to my squad management and for the first time ever here under my tenure I will be working to ensure some players have PPM's to encourage the type of football I want to be played.

Only a handful of my team managed an average rating over 7 so on paper it looks a decent season but the league position 9th although still good feels like a disappointment if truth be told.

Here are the final results and league table:

I thought I would show you some of my players who even though young have really come on this year and I feel could really become top players:

19 Angel Dominguez - Keeper - 9 Appearances / 7.02

InRsPa.jpg

18 Piet Maas - Centre Midfield - 5 sub appearances / 6.60

PeGSM8.jpg

19 Tshepo Sibeko - Centre Back  - 27 Appearances / 6.70

3kVXCu.jpg

20 - Roberta Mora  - Striker - 4 (15) Appearances  - 6.69

lSG56V.jpg

I'll leave it for now for these players, it's clear that I need to bring in some tutors here and really tailor a specialised training plan, this is something I will talk more about in my next update which will be likely to be next seasons preview.

PRE SEASON 2029-30

Before I show you who I brought in I wanted to show my squad depth sheet which is now rigid as I want certain PPM's for some of my roles and then this is my squad view so I can monitor training:

As you can see we have a very young team:
huoF7B.jpg

I am also working hard on making sure I get better personalities across the team as much as I can:

bHJ7gh.jpg

These are the players I brought in and my little note as to where they fit in:

31 AVRAMOV - Will be my 1st choice keeper to help Dominguez on as well by tutoring him, his agility is a concern though I must admit

A6jOau.jpg

20 MATEUS - comes in on loan from our affiliate Vitoria Setubal, he will partner Mustafaraj in one of the B2B roles we play with:

WEB39N.jpg

18 GOGRICHIANI - he has a lot of work to do but will play back up to Yumerski in the regista role, hopefully he develops into something decent:

oFT4Xi.jpg

16 DRAGUT - a bit of a gamble, especially at centre back but we have Paulinho/Kelly and i think Dragut can rotate with Sibeko who is only 19 himself so we'll see how he goes:

This is the business we did:

AUG & SEP 2029

I am bitterly disappointed by our start, we're really struggling to create much, more recently we have been much tighter at the back but going forward it's like we have ran out of ideas:

k6LdKl.jpg

A lot of improvement is needed!

OCT 2029

Such a disappointment aside from the Ajax game we were leading against Roda but they scored late on and once again I got that sinking feeling however at least we managed a win against Den Haag and I suppose that's something. 12 games have now passed and I feel like I am still waiting for my side to kick into gear, It's been a strange season thus far.

I'm really sorry the lack of updates, I have played on and now it's Feb 2030 and since my last update results have not gone the way I have liked and before i could be pushed I decided to apply for other jobs and I have agreed terms with my new Bristol City who currently find themselves in 19th place in the Championship.

I leave with a heavy heart and I am proud of what we acheived together, some of the results we had were superb but I feel like I've taken them as far as I can,

This is how it looked as I leave them in 14th place:

4zpSel.jpg

I do hope they stay up and someone can come in and revive them, my error when I look back this season was probably that I was too reliant and too hopeful on players who were just too young and this is something I need to learn from as I look to start my tenure with Bristol City.

ivMXGa.jpg

For now, it's bye bye GVVV and hello and welcome to my new home Bristol City!

Awww... Well deserved transfer, though it's a shame to see you leaving Holland.

Thanks, the club I have joined are in a real mess financially, there is a lot of work to do here and a lot of clearing out to do.

I decided to just finish the season and do the best with what I had until I had the summer to have a huge sort out.

The squad is quite big but it lacks some serious quality and our only quality is really offered by our affiliate Man Utd (we have 3 players in on loan)

We have also just being taken over by a consortium who have took out a bank loan of £9m to help with debts but it doesn't help me because as it stands I am unable to offer contracts to the people I want to keep because they went 8k, 9k and for a key player I can offer 2k so it's a real struggle so the summer is going to be a huge building job.

This is how the results went since I took over:

This is where we finished in the league:

This is my squad and as you can see there are a number of decent players whose contracts expire this summer so my squad is going to be ripped apart, I just hope that the board can offer be some decent funds because otherwise it could be a season of toil!

After attending interviews in Denmark, England & Chile, the only club which wants me is Naval from Chile, so welcome to my new Chilean adventure!

This is where we play our home games, now it's time to assess my squad!

Here are my results in Chile but only a month into my tenure I have decided that Chile is not going to be the place for me after all so I have resigned, something which I never do, I feel there is a better job out there waiting for me so it's back to the drawing board

I have inherited such a large unbalanced squad on my first day here I had to rub my eyes when I took training, we had 8 goalkeepers in the squad! Thankfully, I have been able to swap things around and get rid if some people who I felt were taking up too much space in the wage budget.

In the winter break I have brought in four players, instantly I identified where I needed to strengthen which was at WBL / WBR / DMC / AMC

DM - 21 JIRI URBAN

GfZy7c.jpg

WBR 20 - CIARAN KELLY

kt4nQh.jpg

20 AMC - TOMAZ ROZMAN

dlwRuK.jpg

22 DAVID MASEK - WBL

iAdKl6.jpg

So far in my two games we worryingly lost away at Bennekom 0-1 and then went to Zwolle who beat us 2-1 but I saw much more from us against Zwolle, I do hope we can end the season strongly before going into next season!

JANUARY 2031

I've been really impressed with my new team, we dispatched WKE & Excelsior with ease and even against Helmond we were unlucky with us creating 6 SOT to their 3. My squad is awash with injuries and suspensions so once we get over that hurdle I think we can do well.

0kDVsX.jpg

vFW3uq.jpg

Bosma & Aiace are on fire, they are both 32 & 33 and vastly overpaid so they won't be here long but for now I am enjoying having them here,

FEBRUARY 2031

Despite the huge loss away at an impressive Den Haag team we have done so well, we haven't just been beating teams we have been demolishing them and we've been superb in front of goal, this month alone has seen us score  an incredible 17 goals.

Rozman who we brought in on a free in the winter break has been doing so well, the 20 year old has scored 5 in 8 for us! If I can get his dribbling & finishing up he'll be much more complete:

MARCH 2031

March has been superb for us and I can only imagine where we might be had I got this job earlier, we are flying at the moment!

Zs0H5m.jpg

eprcGU.jpg

I have also signed a new deal and I am already planning for next season, one of the first things I did was to renew the contract of our keeper, I think he is awesome.

APRIL 2031

We ended the season poorly with a loss to Spakenburg of all teams but we did go away to my old side GVVV and hammer them 5-1 which was sweet . However, I am now looking forward to the summer as I look to shape my squad and reduce this wage budget we have. I also need to have a major reshuffle of my backroom staff.

ve6tRX.jpg

From where we were when I took over I think a 13th place is very good for us

WRUO68.jpg

The four players I brought in during the winter break have all done very well, all averaging above 7 which is superb! Rozman is going to a danger next year I feel

2031-32 SEASON PREVIEW

My first task in this period was to try and get rid of the highest earners and then look for cheap replacements where possible and I really think I've done well with the resources we have and the reputation we currently have - I will take you through position by position.

GOALKEEPER

This one is simple DUITS is our main man here, he recently signed a new deal and I am very happy with him for as long as he wants but I do expect offers to come in for him soon enough, my back up is a kid so I am relying on DUITS.

CENTRE BACK

I have kept WINTER on from last season but added SADAROV who will be my 1st choice:

0xTrvn.jpg

WING BACK RIGHT

Here I have KELLY who was superb last year but we had no depth so I have brought in MILEV who will offer him some competition:

erM01O.jpg

WING BACK LEFT

Here MALEK was good last year and still is but he was injured a lot and again BALIS comes in this time on a 1 year deal to offer competition:

LA5bCQ.jpg

DEFENSIVE MIDFIELD:

URBAN had a very good break through season after joining on a free but at times his inexperience showed and I believe ANGELOV could be a key signing for us here:

AF6V1W.jpg

MIDFIELD CENTRE / ATTACKING MIDFIELD CENTRE:

Here we have signed two new players who I think will complment ROZMAN really well:

zTCJit.jpg

MfXcyu.jpg

STRIKERS

With the loss of our top stars last season in BOSMA & AIACE I had to move fast to try get strikers of an almost similar ability and these are the two I am trusting, both young lads but I am hoping they eventually come good:

g6IjLi.jpg

UpPux6.jpg

Overall this is the business we did and now our bank balance looks much better:
