And is it just me, but on the tactics screen do your forwards look like they're sitting deeper than one might expect? Like they're both in DLF roles or something. Thanks Jason and they're both False 9's with the ML and MR acting as attacking Wide Midfielders. 4 hours ago, deltablue said: Well done going up. Your youth prospects look identical apart from minor differences in the hair Thanks delta and yes I think it's happening with a few other people as well, but it's nothing game-breaking. 3 hours ago, MAMRICCA said: Liverpool (URU) was relegated? Yep Liverpool finished 12th in the overall table and were relegated but they're joint favourites to come back up along with Danubio.

Makoto Nakamura
February 2018 Considering we're amongst the favourites for relegation I think that it's been a very successful opening month, we're just unable to play very well away from home, evidently! Makoto Nakamura
March 2018 We're up to the dizzying height of 4th and currently are the highest scoring team in the league! This is mainly down to Alex Silva being absolutely unstoppable right now!

Makoto Nakamura
April 2018 6 more points on the board and the league is stupidly tight, there's just 4 points between 1st and 9th and we're caught right in the thick of things coming to the end of the apertura. That's looking nigh-on impossible right now, we're spending the lowest amount of money on wages right now at £298K p/yr and we're currently £253K in the red so it's not looking great
Makoto Nakamura
May 2018 Performance of the season? I think so! What a result to cap off the Apertura where we ended up in 6th which isn't bad considering 1st-5th are separated by a solitary point! Now we play the Intermedia Cup...which, and I'm going to go out on a limb here, is the cup which is played in-between the Apertura and Clausura.
Makoto Nakamura
June 2018 I'm not really taking much interest in the cup which does me fine since it looks like we're not going to qualify for the final, also with my on-loan goalkeeper now leaving the club I've brought in someone for free who's better and on half the wages as Andres Fernandez. MAMRICCA
I did not realize Danubio was relegated too, wow Danubio and Liverpool are usually in Copa Sudamericana places. Makoto Nakamura
July 2018 We actually ended up doing well enough to finish 2nd in our group, Cerro ended up beating River Plate de Montevideo on penalties after a 1-1 draw and unbeknown to me these results actually add up to the overall league table which now looks like this:
Makoto Nakamura
August 2018 Our perfect record over Penarol continues and an early couple of goals got the better of Racing de Montevideo and see us rise up in to 2nd on goal difference although it's still close between the top 6. (Saying that, only 2 points separate 7th and 13th!)

Makoto Nakamura
September 2018 Well that started off woefully, we've forgotten how to win with 11 men. The last 2 games we've had a player sent off and bam, 2 wins. Against Fenix we went down to 10 men after just 24 minutes! I'm not sure how many teams qualify for continental competition but with us being 4th then we should get somewhere close to it, surely?

Makoto Nakamura
October 2018 Disappointing month, we were 3-0 up after 46 minutes to Atenas de San Carlos then we blew it in the 2nd half and had to hold on for a 3-3 draw, this may be in part to injuries starting to rack up as we have 6 first-teamers injured which definitely isn't helping. I'm still amazed with how close we are to the top with just 4 games to go!

Makoto Nakamura
End of Season 2018 A mixed end to the season but we did enough to hold on to 4th place overall, and despite Boston River finishing 1st they didn't actually win the league, they lost 5-0 on aggregate to Penarol in the Champions Playoff. Matias Benitez - Alejandro Prieto - Alex Silva Goal of the Season:

Makoto Nakamura
Pre-Season 2019 A decent pre-season but a disappointing last couple of games. I didn't actually think I was going to be in charge for a 3rd season since I'd gone for 2 interviews, one at Penarol and one at Nacional but as you can tell, I didn't get either job. Predicted right at the bottom again but with the added couple of fixtures of the Copa Sudamericana. No new sponsorship deals but a lot more money coming in overall. Just the one signing and Juilan is one for the future.
Makoto Nakamura
February 2019 A good start I'd say, getting strong wins at home and apart from against River Plate de Montevideo we're also grinding out points away from home but as it turns out almost everyone is doing pretty well at the beginning because we're still sat down in 7th. One more transfer in and one more transfer out. Leonardo is a good backup option and is cheap with his wages.
Makoto Nakamura
March 2019 A very good month! We're through to the 2nd Round of the Copa Sudamericana after defeating Bolivian side San Jose 6-4 on aggregate and in the league it's looking like another close campaign as right now there's 3 points separating 1st from 8th. Also I think we have an early record for highest scoring game (even if I was neither team) After the first San Jose game we were left with just one fit striker so I've made another transfer to bring in a striker.
Makoto Nakamura
April 2019 Still going strong as we near the end of the apertura, Defensor Sporting look to be clear winners now it's just going to be a big fight for 2nd. And that striker who is shown in the above post? Well he got injured in his 2nd game and is out for 2 months with a dislocated shoulder so in comes another.
Makoto Nakamura
See my problem? Santiago is out for 5-7 weeks with a dislocated shoulder. Sasha is out for another 4 weeks to 3 months with damaged cruciate ligaments, he's been out for 6 months so far. Mauro is out for 7-9 weeks with a sprained ankle. Junior is luckily only out for 6-8 days with a dead leg. Marcelo is on trial but not willing to sign for us
Makoto Nakamura
May 2019 A lucky win against Nacional and a very straightforward win over El Tanque Sisley guarantee 2nd for us, now we have the Copa Sudamericana 2nd Round where we still don't know who we're facing and we also have the Intermedio to contend with as well.
Makoto Nakamura
June 2019 We were easily outclassed by Independiente's very strong team as we crashed out 10-5 on aggregate but we've hit the top spot in the league and are currently 6 points clear of 3rd placed Boston River, despite this I've had another interview with Penarol since they've sacked another manager. Oddly enough I think I'm the 2nd longest serving manager in the league, I've been in charge for 2 years and 166 days, Defensor Sporting's manager Juan Ramon Carrasco is the longest serving having been in charge for 2 years and 251 days. Deportivo Cali (to me at least) appear to have played 6 more games than Atletico Nacional, and have a 10 point lead. It looks as though it's a straightforward 3 for a win, 1 for a draw, so if Nacional played those 6 games, they'd probably go top. What gives?

Okay, so, I shall try to explain so here goes: It's a 'straight-forward' Apertura and Clausura deal where every team plays each-other leading to 40 matches in total, now, the top 8 go through a 2-legged Apertura Quarter Final, winners of that go to the 2-legged Semi-Final and the winners of that play a 2-legged Final with the winners then being the winners of that round, and the same thing happens for the Clausura. Here's the thing though, each of those playoff games goes towards the league table so the best team could end up playing 52 games and getting a maximum of 156 points. I hope some of what I said makes sense

Makoto Nakamura
July 2019 We won the Intermedio! And we're now top of the league with a better goal difference than Defensor Sporting and 9 points ahead of Boston River, can we hold on as we enter the Clausura? Also, in comes another striker on a free from Racing de Montevideo since his contract expired and he's both one for the future and our 2nd best striker already. Makoto Nakamura
August 2019 Just the 2 games in August, an easy win over Villa Espanola and an early red card for us when we were already 1-0 down against Cerro meant we didn't have enough fight to get back into the game and ended up losing 3-1, despite this we sit 3 points clear in the league and have a game in hand! Makoto Nakamura
September 2019 A couple of slip-ups but overall still a good month and we've managed to move further clear as Penarol overtake Defensor Sporting. Makoto Nakamura
October 2019 3 more games and 3 more wins, we also have a new record for our highest scoring game with our victory over Danubio and we're a massive 11 points clear with 5 games still to go! In 2017 Boston River won the title with 69 points and last season they won it with 67, this season we already have 68.
Makoto Nakamura
End of Season 2019 We came so, so close to blowing it, it would have been 37 games and we would've had nothing from it. We were 3-1 down on aggregate with just 12 minutes to play and then Defensor Sporting got a red card, and the floodgates opened. We win the title 5-3 on aggregate! Gonzalo Sena - Luciano Isola - Matias Benitez - Junior Arias Goal of the Season: Well the stadium is finally being upgraded...to 1,619 at a cost of £589 per seat. oriole01
Well done Makoto! Nice to see you claiming your first FM17 silverware already. Thanks Oriole The answer to the first question is that I honestly don't have a clue why they weren't relegated, the clubs that have the 3 worst average points over 2 years are supposed to be relegated but I don't have a clue what this means: And to answer the 2nd question, that fixture is the winner of the Opening Stage vs the winner of the Closing Stage, but then there's the actual Champions Playoff after that, so it still doesn't make much sense. Makoto Nakamura
Pre-Season 2020 A great Pre-Season with an amazing 5-0 win in the Uruguayan Super Cup against Sud America! It's also nice to see that we're no longer expected to finish down at the bottom of the table. A lot more money coming in this season. And well..we haven't exactly strengthened the squad... I've also been looking to see if I can get a job elsewhere and the short answer is no. I applied for the job at ABC FC who have just gotten promoted into Brazil's Serie B and they laughed off my interest. Oh dear.
