They only went and freaking done it!

I'm really proud. Having all the Germany goals in the competition scored by Stuttgart players is really special as well

Congratulations!

Absolute crown on your work. Now you/your players have won everything.

thanks and yes, I don't think there are any awards that the players, club or manager have not won in the last 9 years :)

Congrats mate!

Isn't there any way Jensen might reconsider?

cheers! ahh, it's really tempting to just march on another season but I think it's the right moment to say goodbye, anything else from here would be overkill.

I'm delighted with this journey, it exceeded all my expectations in terms of pretty much everything: I expected at least 10 seasons for us to have high enough talent come through the academy so that we can put together an entire winning team of club-trained players. I expected at least 7-8 years for us to win the CL. I certainly didn't expect performances worthy of Ballon D'or or such a continued spell of domination in the league. It has been the most enjoyable save I have ever done while playing FM and I strongly encourage anyone else to play with the same or similar formats - it's more rewarding than it is challenging, I assure you. I usually played FM in a very detached, superficial kind of way - the usual strategy was to manage a club by constantly upgrading the squad by signing better players until your squad is so good you just win everything. It is a way of playing, I agree, but it doesn't make you get in there and immerse yourself in a reality that actually challenges your ability as as a manager, rather than a transfer guru. The attachment I have developed for each and every player as a result of playing this way is making it really hard to let go, as I have kept pretty much the same team since year one and two of the save, with newcomers mostly out of the youth intakes and maybe one u18 signing every two or three years. The effort put into developing them, tutoring them, molding them into the players they are now and seeing them achieve the highest levels of the game is a really, really fulfilling experience. It's like having a kindergarten and staying with them till they all get to run the country as a result of your education.

The next update will be a detailed overview of all the players, their development over the years and the club situation upon departure. It will probably be the last update and I hope my efforts in sharing my journey with you guys have managed to transmit the emotions I've experienced as well as the simple joy of just playing the game :)

cheers everyone

speaking of player attachment, and making a player perform above his apparent abilities. for example, take the first player of the post 2006 Vfb Stuttgart that achieved legendary status at the club - Max Besuschkow

a player that is not really world-class, or specifically amazing in any area of the game. a player that, at a first glance, doesn't stand out as a star player or one that definitely didn't at the start of the game:

decent youngster, with reasonable potential. Two spells of tutoring by Sven Bender to mold him to a professional personality. very careful management of training schedule and assignments, appropriate designation of role in the tactical system of play and 9 years later, this is how his career looks like:

It's been an amazing story to follow. Easily one of the highlights of visiting the forum for me over the past period. Well played and well written.

May I ask what the current value of the club has risen to?

I'm glad you enjoyed it :) here's the financial status of the top clubs in the world

to be fair, though, we haven't made major transfer dealings in either buying or selling players over the last 3-4 years so the income is solely based on competitions, merchandising and ticket revenue. The latter played a huge part in the club's finances as we've averaged around 38.000 season ticket holders per season in our 65.000 capacity Mercedes-Benz Arena

Hey mate, yeah I know that but how do you then make that into a screenshot like you did above?

That's the bit I need help with, I already knew about the 'i' bit.

Thanks

I use Gyazo for screenshots, you can download it online

Hey mate, yeah I use Snaggy but after hovering over the i button how do you then screenshot just the attributes? That's the bit I don't know how to do, could you talk me through how you do it exactly as I don't want to waste any more of your time.

If you could please explain and then I can go away and do it to see if it works, thanks

Gyazo gives you the option of selecting what you screenshot. Configure the shortcut from the app settings and then you can use it in game while on windowed mode. When you hover over the 'i' button just press the Gyazo shortcut and you'll be able to make a selection of your screenshot

Thanks so much mate, that makes sense now as I found that when I removed my cursor from the i it disappeared.

One last thing, you mention configuring the shortcut? What do you mean by this?

Thanks
