[SUGGESTION] Revamp/addition to current/potential star ratings

No, I'm referring to the problem that occurs when a report made yesterday is now completely unusable because a player you signed today changed the scale on which you judged that player less than 24 hours ago. In real life I wouldn't ask the scout to rewrite that report, because in real life there would be no new information to gain and I would still be able to understand what he meant and extrapolate that to the current situation. And yeah, if you're doing deadline deals as a small club with only one or two good scouts, it is unreasonable to need to entirely rescout someone because the game keeps you from viewing recently compiled information with an updated perspective.

Manchester United didn't suddenly have no clue how good Pogba was anymore because Ibrahimovic arrived, even if he increased the club average current ability, they could still look at the reports they had been making in the recent past and make sense of them. Clearly this is because in real life you aren't bound to an ambiguous star system, but since you are in the game, it would be nice if we could make them more natural, intuitive, and accurate to better reflect authentic understanding...

If it were to be more "natural", then your scout would just tell you in words that the player is very good, probably better than anyone in your squad as of today.

If you were to buy another player, then one could argue that the information of the forthcoming transfer should be reflected in the scout report, as he should know about pending transfers, but if he sends you a written (as it would be) report about a player, and you go on and buy a different player who's clearly better than your squad, then said written report shouldn't just magically update itself. You should have to have your scout send you a new, updated report (which shouldn't have to be very detailed to reflect just the new info) about how he views the same player now, after your squad's "updated". This shouldn't take long, but it should have to be done to update the star ratings.

And with regards to Pogba/Ibra/ManU, if you were managing a pretty big club, and you scout a pretty good player, you know he's good for you regardless of you bringing in another player as well (especially in a different position).

The content of the report will not change, the pros, cons & attributes remain the same so trust in your ability as manager to make the right decision based on all that information.

It's repeated time & time again that other than providing a rough guide due to being directly linked to perceived CA/PA the star ratings are pretty useless at  any deeper analysis of how effective a player will be in your system & once you appreciate that fact you should find that you make better transfer, tactical & selection decisions.

If you're starting out in part-time or amateur lower leagues the last thing you should be basing your decisions on are the star ratings, when the overall standard is lower it's much more important to get players with the best attributes & personality for your club, often a 2 star player will be a better fit than the countless 5 star players your scout will have identified, this is still true at all levels but it is an essential concept in the lower leagues.
