# of posts/threads per page?

Recommended Posts

Is/will there be a setting for how many posts/threads to display on a page? This 25 limit is getting old real quick tbh.

Will look into it and see if I can change it.

More of a feedback. Neil, would it be possible to show the post number somewhere in the post?

I've set it to 50 now, see how that goes.

50 is a big improvement. Would be grand if we could manually set this ourselves - but 50 is probably ideal anyway.

Could the amount of threads per page now be increased too?

It's still only 25 or so.

Agreed. 50 posts is an improvement but I'd like to be able to increase it to 100 as it was.

And increasing on the 25 threads/page would be nice too. Both OTF and FF is a pain when you have to look at several pages just to find the active ones. :D

The threads per page cannot be increased I'm afraid.

To bad cause that sucks, will get quite annoying when browsing active forums.

A good and working search is better than 100 threads per page.

I'd prefer 100 threads per page. Unless you mean the activity streams, those are great.

Not really, you aren't going to want to have to search for your active threads. A good search function might help you out once or twice a week, not a few times a day.

If you are active mainly on one forum, follow that forum and use the activity stream to show you all activity in that forum.

That's limited to 25 as well though.

But you just need to click load more activity. :stop:

A bit like clicking next page on the forum?

It's no better.

That's no help though, if the thread is on page 3 then it will be way down in the activity stream to.

I think the main problem is, that such forums are used on computers and mobiles. If you have 100 thread per page, it will load 100. No problem for broadband, but not when you have limited access abroad.

Did you have a lot of complaints about loading times before? Or do these new forums just take that much longer to load?

But it doesn't load the threads, only the headings. It's not much difference tbh. It is however quite a difference to have to jump between multiple pages with a limited/slow connection (like the one I use atm).

As Neil Brock already posted, it's not that they did limit it because of loading times, it's the software that does not offer the option to show more threads per page. Maybe there will be a addon in the future for this.
