UEFA EURO 2016 Best XI so far

Laughable :D

Bale in there for hitting a free kick at the middle of the goal also

Neuer just automatic pick in any of these without reasoning

Neuer made some good stops but also almost cost them a goal.

Cech or Buffon would be my choice for the first round.

Truthfully I did expect Chiellini in there.

Bale, Ronaldo and Neuer (did well though) are arguable but the rest of the team seems alright.

Hahaha, surprise surprise. Literally zero players from the lesser known countries.

Having Cristiano the crybaby is an utter joke

Bale, Kroos and Payet were considered players of their games... so they make sense

But you could put Modric, Pellè and Schär in there already too. Glik played really well for Poland...

so:

Sommer

Chiellini Schar Glik Alba

Modric Payet Kante Kroos

Bale Pellè

He played deep in midfield vs. Austria. Think he's been converted later on in his career.

Never been a striker anyway. Was always an attacking mid/winger.

Oh ok, only memory is him putting on masks after scoring

Thats was Gutierrez :D (unless Gera did it also which I don't remember him doing so)

Oops, kept thinking it was Gera. Gera must be the one doing a somersault on his ass then

Opinions?

;)

Yeah, someone at UEFA knows nothing about football.

I say this with some apprehension because it's likely that if he keeps this up we might not buy a midfielder... but Rooney has been fantastic in both games and deserves a spot on the team.

That team is fantastic. Ronaldo had 10 shots and only 1 was on target. And that was a header straight at the keeper from 6 yards which he should have scored.

Not a single Italian after one of the best team performances so far is pretty poor.

Yann Sommer should be there instead of Neuer. Ronaldo.

Everything based on stats. Defenders in because they scored a goal? This sounds like a Garth Crooks TOTW rather than the opinion of anyone who watched the games.

Ronaldo?? Couldn't even beat a "small team"!

Rooney was poor in the 2nd game.

Edit: actually poor is harsh, he had a sloppy first half though, better in the second but certainly not team of the tournament worthy.

Especially considering Payet doesn't play up front, so you need an extra there as well :D

Payet could obviously form part of a front 3. As he is for France atm.

He's a midfielder...but I'll let you have that he could be up front and attacking.

Have you watched France at all? Or even West Ham, because he plays in a similar position

He registered more than double the amount of touches than the highest Wales player (103). He created six goalscoring chances (at least three more than any other player). He completed four dribbles (as many as Gareth Bale).

This anti Rooney rhetoric is quite tiresome. Frankly, it's boring. He's been easily one of our best players in both games and has played well so far. In the best team so far, probably not, but he's been anything but poor.
