Hi all!

I recently bought a MacBook Pro 15" with Retina Display and - of course - installed FM16 on it.

In the interface preferences there's an option to "Use Retina Display". It also says that this option needs a restart of the game.

When I tick the box to use the Retina resolution and restart the game, the box is automatically unticked again the buttons and font etc. are blurry.

I tried different resolutions, windowed mode and cleared the cache - nothing seems to work.

Could somebody help me?

These are my specifications:

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15', Mid 2015)

Mac OS 10.11.4 (El Capitan)

2,2 GHz Intel Core i7

16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Intel Iris Pro 1536 MB

Thanks!

Luca

The retina display only works on certain resolutions but there sounds like there could be an issue given it goes blurry - how blurry is it?

Also I'd suggest deleting your cache and preferences so the system can rejudge the defaults. Details on how to do this below:

Hi Neil, thanks for your response. It is not really that much blurry, but you can see very well that it is not optimized for the retina display.

You said in your post that retina is only supported with certain resolutions. What resolutions are these? I'm currently at 1680x1050px.

To confirm, if you set it retina ticked with the above resolution, then quit the game - on relaunching the game and entering the in-game preferences, does the retina checkbox remain ticked?

The resolution of my Mac is currently at 1680x1050px and the resolution in FM is also set to 1680x1050px. If I tick the box to use retina and restart the game, the box is NOT ticked anymore.

I just tried it with another resolution: If I set my MacBook to 1440x900px and if FM is also set to 1440x900px, the box remains ticked after a restart and the interface uses the retina option.

But if I set my Mac to 1680x1050px and FM to 1440x900px it does not work... So it seems to only work if the resolution of my MacBook is set to 1440x900px.

I'm just wondering why it does not work with my MacBook set to 1680x1050px and FM set to 1440x900px.

Sorry to bring this back, just wondering if there was ever an answer to this? I have the same issue. Retina won't stay ticked no matter what resolution I play on.
