#FM100 - Guinness World Records Title Attempt: '100 Day Save'

Sports Interactive and the National Football Museum are looking for 100 FM fans to take part in a Guinness World Records Title Attempt, 100 day ‘save’ of Football Manager Touch 2016.

Taking over AFC Wimbledon, the League Two side sponsored by Football Manager in real life, the project will determine whether the group of 100 fans and gamers can take the Kingsmeadow side to the top of the football pyramid and how the constant managerial merry-go-round will affect the team's stability.

Featured in the museum’s ‘Pitch To Pixel: The World of Football Gaming’ exhibition, the shared ‘save’ will see each different player take over the managerial position from the previous player. Playing the FM ‘Touch’ game mode, each manager will be able to buy and sell players throughout their reign.

Every manager who plays will be part of an official Guinness World Record Title Attempt: ‘Most Contributions To A Save File on a Video Game’.

In addition each manager who takes part at the Football Museum in Manchester will be given their own official cover for the Football Manager 2016 game, with their own face on the front, thanks to a unique photobooth in the Pitch To Pixel exhibition. At the end of the 100 days, one manager will even be picked at random to be honoured with their own appearance in the next edition of the game; featuring as one of the ‘new-gen’ players that will appear in Football Manager 2017.

Players can book in to play up to 14 days ahead at www.fm100.eventbrite.co.uk.

By booking a place you agree to be at the National Football Museum at the allotted time and date. Each session at the museum is booked from 12pm – 1pm (although this is flexible), with a minimum of 1 hour play expected.

You can also keep fully up-to-date on the progress of the game on Twitch - http://www.twitch.tv/footballmuseum

I feel like there would be major pressure not to screw up the previous manager(s) hard work :D

Shame it's so far away from most of the country really.

What's wrong with London?

Well it's at the National Football Museum and given how London-centric a lot of people think England is, it's good to do something somewhere else for a change. Especially as SI are already based in London.

Why is it even at a physical location?

The save files aren't so big that they're impossible to download.

WOW!

Have a read back at Your post.

Then tell me London isn't further away from "most of the country" than Manchester.

Unless of course you believe that most of the country is from south of Luton?

Dear old Lahnden Tahn!

No charity angle. Disappointing, as it's reduced to being just an advert - pay Guinness World Records, invent a "record" to beat, watch the money roll in.

Great username Dave

How is this going? Is there anyway to follow progress other than on twitch (i.e. a daily summary?)

We're still going until Saturday. Only way to follow it is via Twitch when it's live I'm afraid.
