This was great to watch, because I'm hopeful the same thing can start to happen to bigger teams soon. They had no way of stopping San Marino's answer to Jamie Vardy, and his pace just tore them apart.

I'm really surprised some of these teams have such a high coefficient, and it makes me a little apprehensive. Red Star are the ideal team, but going purely off coefficient the next best is Olympiakos or Malmo?

Amazingly, we're 98 years into the save and this is the first time we'll ever play Malmo. I've got no idea how good they're going to be.

A superb comeback to get a point, but I was hoping for more. Udinese beat Spartak, so I was hoping that they'd be the weakest team in the group. Considering Udinese just went and beat Sevilla, they probably are, so we likely needed to win this at home. Udinese have 6 from 6 and I don't see them failing to beat us twice next - what a nightmare team to draw as the fourth seed.

On another day, we could have won this. Still, it's not all bad...

Somehow, Sevilla lost again - this time to Spartak. We play Sevilla next and I don't expect to get anything from the game, but we'll see what happens. As long as Udinese beat Spartak, nothing disastrous can happen (I think).

Sevilla should hire a shooting coach...

Spartak beat Udinese (of course), so the stage is set. If we beat Spartak in our last game, we'll go through. Anything else, and we're out. Simple enough, right?

Of course not. That's no Buscarini, and now no Berardi. I don't see how we're even going to score.

Season Review

Campionato Sammarinese:

Table

Schedule

Another unbeaten season.

Coppa Titano:

Table

Schedule

Meh.

Squad

Key Players:

Highest Average Rating:

Federico Cervellini (YP130) - 8.23

So much of our attacking play goes through him.

Top Goalscorer:

Federico Berardi (YP135) - 35

He's developing pretty nicely, hey?

Manager's Player of the Year:

Michele Tini (YP132)

I want to give our star man in defence some love. He's unbelievable, and he's one of our few players who is comfortable in Europe.

Aims for next season:

CL Groups/Europa Knockouts.

Other teams:

League Winners: :D

Cup Winners: Folgore beat Faetano 2-0 in the final.

How the team in CL qualifying did: Malmo beat us in the Playoff.

How the teams in Europa qualifying did: We got five points in the group - four against Sevilla. Juvenes Dogana lost 3-0 to Domzale from Slovenia, Folgore lost 3-1 to IFK Mariehamn from Finland and Cailungo lost 7-0 to Shamrock Rovers. A little help, guys?

San Marino National team:

2114 Results -- 2115 Results

The big one here is Ciacci - I'm disappointed to lose him, but Gabriele Ragini isn't that much off a drop off, anyway. The real loss is the next one...

Rossi played 239 games for us and conceded just 109 goals. He was so, so good in Europe. The problem isn't that we've lost him though - it's that we don't have a replacement. Here's the only keeper we have left at the club:

What a win! They slightly outplayed us but it was fairly even, and it was left to Berardi to slide home the winner to get us off to a fantastic start in the group.

EDIT: Oh, and we did this without Buscarini and Favaro (injuries), and Michele Tini (suspension). Superb.

Ragini getting sent off for a dive is a pretty interesting way to end our Europa campaign.

In fairness, I think this group was just a lot harder than I'd first anticipated. Brugge, especially - they were miles better than the last time we played them.

Federico Cervellini (YP130) - 8.38

So. Good.

Top Goalscorer:

Federico Berardi (YP135) - 33

If he hadn't torn his calf muscle, he'd be even quicker. I really hope his pace can continue to develop, because it could be an absolute gamechanger for us.

Manager's Player of the Year:

Michele Tini (YP132)

Rock at the back. Love him.

Aims for next season:

CL Groups/Europa Knockouts.

Other teams:

How the team in CL qualifying did: Steaua beat us in the Playoff.

How the teams in Europa qualifying did: We got four points in the group - somehow, all against A.C. Milan. Folgore lost 2-0 to Zimbru from Moldova, Juvenes Dogana lost 4-1 to Banants from Armenia and Libertas lost on away goals to Kalju from Estonia. Those were three winnable games.
