Hi Tweebier,

What's your pitch dimensions that you are using for your tactics. I left it as was before on standard size in other test games. So I just wondering if you were doing anything different, than I'm doing or can you recommend a size of the pitch dimensions to use.

Continued my Atletico save into second season. Bought Kurt Zouma and Marquinos for peanuts since they were transferlisted by Barcelone (transfer 1st season from chelsea) and PSG respectively. Loaned out Mammana and Lucas, since Godin and Gimenez are BOSS.

Sold Griezmann for 72Million to Man Utd since he didnt work out as a DLF. Bought Witsel for 9 million and Wilshere for 10Million after 50 games since they were also transfer listed. Strange how many top class players are available during transfer periods.

Back on topic: Tactic is still performing strong and i agree with Tweebier regarding players statistics more important than attributes. For some reason my Digne is AMAZING as a LWB eventhough his stats are mediocre. Aurier is also performing well as RWB, had to sell Vrsaljko unfortunately, he was perfect for the role.

Lost away to Barcelona and was played of the pitch away at sevilla, but that was mostly due to me bragging about dominating them in the press conference. This tactic works best when you are underdog against strong teams, so i always play down my capabilities. Make sure your team has high determination and professionalism though, otherwise they will believe me when i say they arent that good ;)

Thanks for the update Torminator

Good luck with Atletico.

Thanks Tweebier,

But I've known in past when I've downloaded tactics from other people on this site or from another site on previous FM years. Some people suggest different pitch sizes to match their tactics.

Struggling to upload a screenshot but been using this tactic (attack) now for about 12 games with very good measures of success. Today I beat Arsenal 6-2 in the Fa Cup with Luke Shaw getting 3 assists and Darmian scoring 2 and getting 1 assist. Shows how important your wing backs are for this tactic! Also have you tested the varying degrees of success with playing three 'big men' up top to take advantage of all the crosses going in. Would/is this better then say using pacey 'runners'.....atm I'm using a rotation of Depay, Barbosa, Martial and Rooney, but if it was possible, would say Lukaku, Kane and Benteke be more useful?

my personal opinion the wings backs are having the same effect regardless of tactic, you can try create a tactic of your own with a flat 4 of 2 attacking wing backs, and they would have several assists. seems to me for 16.2, attacking wing backs are a must regardless of how other positions are being setup

I play three big strikers up front and its a blast. Just make sure they can pass as well!

Ideally i would have Moratta and Kane but their clubs dont want to sell, so im rocking with Lukaku, Vincent Aboubakar and Jackson martinez.

The control version of this tactic is the most suitable and consistent for me. Using it to great effect with Hearts in the Scottish Premiership and also started using it on my Mac save with Kaiserslautern and it looks good to take us to the Bundesliga and beyond!

Control version of the tactic working well with my atletico side, though im being crushed against the better teams away from home, and sometimes getting a draw against the weaker teams is also a bt annoying. Cant complain about the consistency in the league though.

Been using this for about a full year now in my r. Sociedad save. Jan-Dec and while I'm third in la liga in goals I'm also 3rd from bottom in goals against. My defenders have pace and rulli is still my keeper. Does anyone have suggestions on limiting what we concede?

I won la liga in my 2nd season and still leading halfway through my 3rd season. So far, I can say that there is no sign AI solve this tactic. Based on Athletic Bilbao transfer policy, I cannot simply transfer the players who fit into the tactic still I got best what I already have.

Of course I made some tweaks on PIs as tweebier says you are the manager, you should have test somethings if there is a problem, you can always undo if it doesn't work.

Yes Moedav, I've tried this but with mixed results. As you see from my screenshots, still lot of fouls & yellow cards, but I managed to stop the red cards. Plus if you play around with it too much I've found that you start lose all those goals that the original tactic by Tweebier gives you.

I've removed "tackle harder" from player instructions & "get stuck in" from team instructions, but added to the team instructions "tight marking" & "prevent short goalkeeper distribution". And renamed tactic 4-3-3 WB with versions: Attacking, Control & Standard. Also I have tried dropping back the wing backs to full backs and leaving their role as wing back attacking during a match, when trying stop amount goals being conceded against better opposition, playing away or trying to see out a match.

Are you using control or attacking?

I trained both of them. I usually start with control and switch to attack if I am not leading after certain level.

I removed for wingerbacks and also removed get stuck in on TI. Also I reduce to normal defansive line when I take the lead.

Just finished my first season in charge of Southampton, there were minimal transfers and I used the original Attack tactic;

English%20Premier%20Division_%20Overview%20Stages_zpscbpilijm.png

I have also completed a Villa season using the original Control tactic and finished 4th, again with minimal transfers.

Great work Tweebier

Won the CL in my second season with Atletico madrid and really starting to steamroll now. Barca is falling apart and Real just keep making silly transfers. Its only thanks to CR that they are 2nd. Celta and Granada are fighting with Barca for the 3rd place.

My whole team is now 3,5 - 4,5 star ability in their position and am on a 14 match winning streak in the league.

Amazing tactic tweebier, I hope SI wont nerf crossing in 16.3 ;)

Hi Guys an update from me

First seizoen 2015-2016 Weston-super-Mare Vanarama league South

Started a career game. Purpose is to work my way all the way up to a top team in England or Spain using my tactic. And see how it holds with all sorts of teams and players

To really test the tactic I started with probably one of the worst teams in the game: Weston-super-Mare in Vanarama South. Prediction was 21th. Had no money so I signed about 7 or 8 free players. Scouted them only on speed. Finished 3rd using attack-tactic with teamplay on structured. Won the playoffs and got promoted to National Conference.

Second season: Oxford United 2016-2017 Skybet League 2

After first season I aplied for Headcoach at Oxford United (in Skybet League 2) and got the job, because Weston players were really bad.

Again signed a few players for free, because of lack of money. Used original attack-tactic ( so with teamplay very fluid).

Finished 2nd, while prediction was 9th. Got promoted to Skybet League 1.

Third season: Oxford United 2017-2018 Skybet League 1

Only signed players for free because of lack of money. This is really starting to irritate me, but I had no choice.

Prediction was 21th. Played with original attack-tactic. Finished 3rd and won playoffs. Won promotion to Championship.

Fourth Season Leeds United 2018-2019 Championship

Because there was no more room for improvement with Oxford, applied for Headcoach at Leeds and got it. So happy...

Sold a few players, got 7 million euro to spend..finally... and signed 3 players for free and bought 3 other players.

Prediction was 15th. Used original Attack-tactic and won Championship. Promotion to Premier League.

Fifth season Leeds United 2019-2020 Premier League

Oke, now I have the money... finally. Bought 13 players for 47 million euro's. But prediction was 20th, used original attack-tactic and finished 6th. So I qualified for Euro Cup next season.

Sixth Season Leeds United 2020-2021 Premier League

Bought 8 players for 36 million euro's.

Prediction was 10th. Used Attack-tactic and finished 4th and won Euro Cup against Schalke and Capital One Cup against Man United.

What a great and amazing season this one was.

Leeds League Table

Seventh season PSV 2021-2022 Eredivisie

Had to really talk my way into the PSV headcoaches job. They thought I was overqualified. Ridiculous. But in the end I got it.

Yeah, Leeds was on a roll, but PSV is my club..so could not pass on this opportunity. Cocu got finally sacked after not winning anything in 6 years, he didnot even qualify for European football in his last year. Can you believe that?

Sold 9 players. So had money to buy 4 players for 12 million euro, signed 2 players for free.

Prediction was 3rd, but won the League and the KNVB Beker (Dutch Cup).

PSV League Table

PSV team

http://i.imgur.com/VmVMImv.jpg

Eighth Season PSV 2022-2023 Eredivisie

Bought 2 players for 9 million,, signed 1 player for free. Played with Attack-tactic

Prediction was first, won the League again. Won the Dutch cup again and lost the Champions Cup final to Atletico Madrid. The road to the CL final was ridiculous, so extremely thrilling. Lost 0-2 and won 5-1 at home..that sort of games

PSV League table

http://i.imgur.com/M5VkK0x.jpg

Ninth season PSV 2023-2024 Eredivisie

Bought 2 players for 17 million euro. Played with Attack-tactic, but with one change (exploit the flanks)

Prediction was 1st, won the league, won the Dutch cup and won the Champions League by humiliating Barcelona with 7-2 in the final.

So, tactic is working very well. You just need to buy the right players (or sign for free). Even if you have no money everything is possible.

Tweebier, which things do you scout for in your players?

I will just post my case, i go to scouting , click on pick, attack, and choose wanted position, just for example : i buy Zach Clough (he was transfer listed, not needed) i pay 5,5 m euros, every season he score more than 25 goals (till now), every summer and january i get random offers approx 50m to sell it...want to say, this tactic its (for now) ultimate best one. I only dont know how to manage away games, let we say against first 6 on the table, i almost always loose...

I agree with tweebier, if you really scout players that fit the roles the tactic is just unstoppable. My away record is even better than home for some reason.

Another thing that is important is teamtalks. The trick for me is to just be cautious with praise. If i win 2-0 against a weaker side, i bash them for not playing good enough haha. That wakes them up!

For some reason I'm grabbing a lot less yellow cards in my third season than in the prior 2 seasons. Maybe its because opponents dig themselves in against me. Not sure why. Aurier went from 17 yellow in 55 matches in the 2nd season to 5 cards in the first 26 matches in the 3rd season.

If i win tonight home against Barcelone with my Atletico madrid squad (3rd season) I have won all first 18 matches hahaha :D RM and Barca are allready 16 points behind on the 6th of january :p

My squad is just to overpowered. I'm running Lukaku, Jackson and Aboubakar up front and with all the crosses coming in the opponents just cannot cope with all that strenght and heading. I'll post some screenies tonight.

Also won all 6 CL group stage matches.

p.s. ow Tweebier, funny how vitesse gives you trouble. I have the same with Granada in my save. Angstgegners maybe?

Just to report, in the latest season i start with 10 away friendly games and put (attack version of this tactic) but with one change, i move left DLF (AT) on position CD (DE), i get 10 wins, and first two away games in premiership i got a WIN. In home games i use ''usual'' attack version. Till now, only WINS without even a DRAW. Thanks Twebbier again!

That is an interesting one for a test. Does it makes a difference when you do not give them a clean sheet bonus?

I usually scout for an assistent who likes closing down and attacking play. He has to have tactical knowledge and man management and motivating, because I let him do the teamtalks for all the less important matches. I get bored with it :)

I want to do a test if it makes all the diference though... because I had some AMs with rubbish qualities and they did the job as good as anybody else. One liked to play cautious...

Hey Torminator

Hahhaha, same here. Bashing them helps!!! Vitesse...they play 4-2-3-1. I sometimes have difficulty with a system that plays with an AM. I have to man mark the AM. He is giving me all the trouble. And the wingbacks are a pain in the ass too, because my winggbacks than have 2 opponents. I have to man mark their backs with my DLFs. I do not know..but most of the times it is no trouble at all, and some teams are somehow harder to beat down. But the games against Vitesse... I had 19 shots on goal in the away-game, hit woodwork twice, they had half a change and goal... **** happens. The home game was even.

Good to see you are doing so amazing with Atletico. Always a tough opponent, they play 442. I had no change in the away game and lost 1-3.

Switch to controll? Does that help? Or look what or who is causing you the problems? Manmark him.

And somtimes teams are just to good for you, than nothing helps, just sit the game out.

I really enjoy this tactic.

I decided to give this a try in the lower regions of the English leagues, and after a few tweaks it has been working a treat.

I plugged it in but found finding a decent RPM in the lower echelons (where the players are absolutely rubbish) was practically impossible, so I have been tweaking it here and there.

2 out of the first 3 matches I played resulted in losses because of the dodgy RPMs, I am thinking.

My 3-man midfield now consists of CM-DE, DLP-SU, BWM-SU and they are very strong as a unit.

I have also taken out one of the forwards and put in a AM-SU, which seems to make the attacks more 'flowing'.

I also play control/very fluid.

Originally I thought that the two Defenders would be crucial to success with this tactic, but I don't think that's correct. With a strong midfield, they are covered the vast majority of time.

I have a striker with a finishing skill of 4, and he scored 5 times in a recent match, so think the forwards can score plenty at the lower levels if they get enough chances.

What I do think is crucial is having a strong midfield to cover the defence and create lots of chances. I have been very fortunate to get 2 strong regens recently (in 17-18 now) who are both midfielders. They control the middle of the pitch and don't make many mistakes. Sadly I think I will struggle to hold onto them for much longer.

From what I have seen, a strong midfield, and 2 talented (speedy!) wingers are the core elements to this tactic.

I look forward to finally playing in one of higher levels with this tactic to see how it goes.

Many thanks Tweebier.

So Tweebier what is your final conclusion about the 3 defenders change?

Is better? If so can you post that version? Thanks

edit: I have tried it, but what is strange is that I suffer so many goals! much more then when I was only with 2 defenders...

Tweebier, I made an account on this forum, especially to thank you for this wonderful tactic.

Primarily, I used the control version with Southampton, but your tactic is not the only one I used. Against weaker teams I used 4-3-1-2 formation with attacking mentality. However, probably I will win the Premier League (I'm already leading with 19 points in advance, after 24 games).

The most difficult games with your tactic was, for me, against stronger teams playing 4-2-3-1. A useful tweak against teams that use only one striker (4411, 4141, 4231) was to set one of my center backs to closing down Less (just a tick lower than it was default - Sometimes). If the opponent's striker has right foot as preferred, then I tweak my right center back. In this way, I don't see anymore both my DCs jumping on the same striker and leaving a gap in middle of my defense. And, yes, I took your advice to man mark enemy's AMC with my deep lying playmaker.

In those difficult games, I concede indeed, but usually I score more than my oponent. I beat Chelsea with 5-2, Liverpool 2-1, Arsenal 3-2.

I have to admit that good results are very pleasing, but for me, is very important the aesthetic of the play. And this tactic is superb, a real treat for my eyes, very beautiful, dynamic and spectacular play.

Thank you, sir!

Hi, mate

I want to thank you for the tactic, I'm not using it right now, because I prefer to fail with my own work than win with the work of others, but because of it I could solve a problem that was ******* me off.

I used it a couple games in my Stockport side in 5th tier. I used it to see if it would solve my headaches and nightmares with FM crossing, every game was evenly disputed by a relegation battler, but the amazing crosses in the far post were ruining everything.

I tried a number of approachs but they were all useless, used fullbacks topped by wingbacks, I used a 4-line defender with a sweeper behind, I used wingbacks with the support of defensive wingers, and many others more that I can remember.

But using the wingbacks idea and your mentality with the team shape, my team stabilized the problem. I had 3 games after adapting my 4-4-2 with the ideas you provided in this thread and many others, and I may have lost 2 of 3 games, but now I can enjoy a little FM without the crossing bonanza.

Thanks Clausion. Hope you will have lots of succes with the tactic. You are right about the 2 central defenders. I have tried that also. Even tried it with a libero or last man, just to give the other one cover. But I had different results...very good - to bad. I let it depend on the game. But, I will try your solution with the preferred foot.

Hahaha, I know how frustrating it can be. I tried all kinds of tactics and stuff, before I came up with this one. I am a big fan in real football of playing with only 1 central defender and 2 wingbacks. And with 1 defensive midfielder (who can drop deep if the opponent plays with 2 attackers) and 1 deeplying playmaker . I try that all the time when the new FM comes out, but can never make it stick.

It gives beautifull football, with amazing attacking play and you lock up the opponent in their own half, also very high scores but against stonger teams I sometimes got totally destroyed on the counter. I can not close the gap in central defense whatever I come up with. I like high pressing to give them no time to pass, but with FM that tactic doesnot work. Maybe next season :)

Just a quick update on my Hibs save. This tactic has been amazing, it's the most fun I've had on FM for years:

2015-16 Scottish Championship Winners + Scottish FA Cup Winners

2016-17 Scottish Premiership Winners + League Cup Winners

Man United job came up & after almost begging the Glaziers, they decided to take a chance on a fiery, young manager who'd achieved wonders, against all odds, North of the boarder.

2017-18 Premier League Winners + League Cup Winners

2018-19 Premier League Winners + League Cup Winners + FA Cup Winners + Champion League Winners (oh & the Community Shield)

Having restored my beloved United back to where they belong, I thought I'd do the same at the AC Milan after they sacked their manager. They weren't that impressed with what I'd achieved, prickly towards me actually, were concerned about my lack of speaking Italiano. "Itsa no problemo" I said "Calcio is a universal language". But alas they decided to go with the Italian manager of Sion??? That left me in quite a predicament (in hindsight I probably should've resigned form United first before applying for the Milan job). Eventually I managed to avoid a few months kicking around waiting for the right 'Project' to come along. It took Man Utd all summer to decide on their new manager after I resigned. Pep Guardiola left PSG for the bright lights and perpetual rain of Manchester & with heavy heart I left the biggest footballing city in the World for the prostitution & pollution of Paris. I'd missed all of pre-season, but managed to pick up my first trophy in my first game, the French Champions trophy. This should be easy? Obviously the UCL is the biggest prize and should be the only challenge. I'll do one season then re-assess, see what other challenges are out there (they'll probably be an update soon anyway, that'll ruin the tactic) Qui vivra verra

Wow, this is the best tactic ive seen for a long time. Won back to back doubles (prem and fa cup) with everton, and now started a fresh game and working in League 2 also. Had to tweak it ever so slightly, drop the middle CM into DMC, and slowed the tempo a bit and shorter passing. Fantastic work, this is a fantastic tactic, Well done and Thanks!

Been using this tactic with my Solihull Moors side. Quite impressed. Had great results, and my entire starting side is doing fantastic. Theo Streete, who plays as my right WB has been nothing short of amazing.

I managed to just completely destroy Crewe in the FA Cup. Couldn't believe the result

As I said before, the entire starting side is playing great:

One concern, I give up a lot of over the top balls which leave the opposing striker 1v1 my goalie. So far my keeper has come up big (and the opposing striker has missed a lot of easy chances) but worried that if I face more skilled opposition I'll give up a lot of goals. Would appreciate any advice how to limit the oppositions chances.

Really struggling with any tactic iv'e tried so far with Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

Iv'e tried 5/6 different tactics and formations within a few saves but as yet nothing has worked.

Although this isn't my prefered formation, i usually like a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-1-2. I'll be certain to give this a try and post up my results, but looking at the reaction and the comments it could help me alot

Still a great tactic on 16.3. Was about to be sacked from Bradford City in championship, switched back to this tactic and have been like a different team. The best tactic I have played on FM16 :-)

Tactic still working for me as well. Although my strikers seem to cluster together so might change something there. The left sided striker is to close to the center striker for my liking. Might set him to drift wide.

I started playing with Chorley in vanarama north at 16.3 patch. Media prediction was becoming last one of the league. Signed on some free gargabes (5-6 players) then i was going 2nd but second half of the league started to fall off ended up 5th but promoted after group games. My observations are; tactic is reliant to strikers especially center one and left one. Right one mostly useless and if strikers are not in good mood most probably you are losing. I used this tactic for long time not only one save so can we get any update on strikers because it frustrates me mostly. what can be another good set up for them or can we get update for 16.3 @Tweebier

Thanks for the tactic anyways. its still best one i saw because i tried all around the world.

keep coming back to this tactic, because when it clicks its quality. however recently struggle to get results at home to lesser sides, even a lot less chances any ideas how to beat that?
