Incarnate Existing Coach

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This is a feature I've been expecting for a long, long time.

Is it possible in FM16 to play as an existing Manager, without having to create a profile?

If not, has the development team ever thought about how this feature would considerably increase the game experience?

Thanks

Ive never understood what you would get out of this feature, other than having the history of that manager?

You could have the experience of certain situations without so much manipulation beforehand. For instance, you could take over an existing manager who has terrible relations with the press and agents, or existing relationships with some of his squad members. For people struggling with the game you could take a manager it'd be virtually impossible to be sacked as e.g. Wenger at Arsenal so you had time to get used to thing. Or you could make it a challenge by taking over a manager under massive pressure mid-season - so if a scenario happened to occur in game similar to what we're seeing with Mourinho at Chelsea now you could try and rectify it.

But even if you start with a certain situation, you're NOT going to be Wenger or Mourinho, you're still going to make tactical management decisions based on YOUR skills. You can always create a manager named "Arsene Wenger" and give him the same manager ratings, and use his tactical setup...but you're going to be reacting to players and the media from your own established knowledge and behaviors. If you want a mid-season challenge, holiday the game to December, pick the team in or around the relegation zone, and drop yourself/Mourinho in at the club and try to salvage the season.

It's not the same thing. If you drop yourself in the board will give you time, recognise that it's the last bloke's fault you're in the relegation zone, etc. Players generally won't be overly antagonistic and might be rejuvenated. It's very different to a situation where you're a few bad results away from the sack, your players are in open rebellion and the fans (and media) want answers.
