Philosophies Question

Recommended Posts

In interviewing they usually ask a question about Philosophies.

I am looking for some clarification about possession/direct/attacking/defensive styles.

I am no guru and you could probably do better than my advice, but here goes on what I interpret the board would be looking for.

possession - consistently have more possession than the opposition.

Direct - direct passing in either counter attacking football or hoof ball.

Attacking - lots of shots on goal and of course.....goals.

Defensive - lots of clean sheets, high ratings for defenders.

I believe to satisfy the possession philosophy you need to have 60 percent and over consistently throughout the season..just having slightly more than your opponents isnt enough.

Yeah - I am finding this out now. In my second season with Arsenal and my two philosophies are to play attacking football and possession football. They are very happy with my attacking football but not so much with possession football. I am consistently getting over 50% in the majority of my matches but rarely reach 60%. Gonna see if I can get it removed next chance I get. Tried to do it when negotiating a new contract around the end of my first season but they wouldn't go for it.
