Back at trying to get 1,000 appearances in my current save. Which happens to be a youth save. My first intake has chucked out five players to start off with. They are Nicholas Walsh, Graeme Adams, Gary Smith, Thomas Kenny and Aaron Bodie.

Jamie Robinson YP0c (MC) - Jamie managed to play in 26 games in all competitions this season with 24 of those coming in the league. He actually started 20 league games and scored the first goal by a youth player. He's signed his first full contract for two seasons.

Brendan Evans YP0a (GK) - When first choice Jay Lynch was injured for a short while Brendan stepped in and did well. He only played the four games but managed to keep one clean sheet and only conceding three goals. Never going to be anything more than back up to the back up. I'm confident he'll take that for the time being.

Jon Buchanan YP0b (DL) - Jon is yet to play a first team game due to Robbie Threlfall's good form. However, he's coming on nicely so hopefully in the near future he'll be given a chance to impress.

Gary Smith YP1c (GK) - Gary has taken over the number 1 jersey for the end of the season and has made 8 appearances, conceding 5 with 4 clean sheets.

Graeme Adams YP1b (DR/DC) - Graeme has slotted in a right back where he also played the final 8 games of the season and with each game he's looking more confident.

Thomas Kenny YP1d (MC/ML) - Thomas has looked the best so far as he's made 8 appearances. In those 8 games he's scored 1 and assisted 2.

Aaron Bodie YP1e (AMLR) - Aaron has played 6 games with 1 goal and 1 assist.

Glensworth Jervier(ST) and Paul Cole(MC) have both been given tags. Jervier has made is debut, Cole hasn't. Both are being tutored and their determination has improved drastically over the past couple of months. Nicholas Walsh YP1a(DC/DR) hasn't yet made is first team debut.

The ones who aren't yet first teamers (0 year) probably already can't do it. I'd advise culling some of these and only picking the absolute gems to try this with. Unless you want to just throw them all in and see results suffer in the short term...

Indeed I do. We do have a fairly good squad but we only have about 6 of them who I would class as good enough for the first team.

Morra has played in his last season, but why would you not want to go out in a Quadruple Trophy Season - where you set up the winning goal in the Champions League final for a 4-2 win?

Or hitting a double to go over 200 League goals? On the way to pipping Inter Milan to the title on the final match day?

Winning the Italian Cup, also over Inter Milan, on Penalties - Being the first one to step up and lead the team to victory?

It was not the best season by far, but at the age of 39, Morra has managed to play in 30 league games and 40 in total at a very competitive level.

His career was illustrious, racking up a total of 1066 appearances, 820 coming in the league, over a span of 24 seasons. He scored 261 times, with 201 coming in league football, as well as a huge 402 career assists with 292 in Serie A football.

I think I'll fail in my goal of putting together a full XI of 1,000 appearance players before I move to FM16, but I'm about to get my first. Francis Burden has 490 goals in 980 games!

But in fact, this was a major landmark: my first 1,000-appearance player with Whitehawk: Francis Burden. I'll post a summary of his career when he retires.

He has 498 goals as we speak!

First season I get this guy through the youth:

Assistant reckons he could be as good as Sissoko, so he's going straight into the first team.

And he becomes the Premier League's youngest ever player and scorer in his second match for the club - a 6-1 thrashing of Leicester.

I read through this post a while ago and after getting the furthest I've ever got in a game (17 yrs) I realised just how much of a feat it is to get a player to get 1000 apps!

From 2012 to 2029 (in FM13) I had two players who stuck with me the whole way and were pretty much first team regulars all that time but when I checked their no. of appearances the highest was just over 500! So massive congrats to everyone who completes this challenge. It's ridiculous.

At the end of his first full season, Lawrence Lawson has 55 appearances. His potential keeps changing between 3 star and 4 star so hopefully he'll start developing soon so that I can judge if he's worth keeping.

Nothing but a load of rubbish in the youth intake this season so no new people ready for the attempt.

Chris Parker hasn't changed at all over the last season, so I'm tempted to already give up on him.

I am trying to find my next longevity man, but its quite hard in an already set team performing so well.. I may need to save my next one for FM16

At age 20, Hassell has developed nicely but he'll never really be good enough to be a legend. He's pretty much topped out now I reckon.

I don't think I'm going to keep pushing him for the 1,000, I don't see him making it. His poor natural fitness is making him miss a lot of cup matches. At the end of the 2022 season (his 5th) he only has 166 appearances - that's a good 50+ short already. He's also never going to hit age 40 like Todd did to make up for his current lack of appearances.

As of yet, I've had no other players come through that are worth bothering with. All others I've mentioned in this thread so far have already dried up and been shipped out

I find it pretty hard to get someone worth attempting this with due to the difficulty of having someone good enough so early in their career, able to play so many matches and have a relatively healthy career.

My current best has 301 matches for us and is currently 27 years of age. There is no chance that he will get to 1,000 but no one else is even close.

apart from when you do the youth challenge got a 16 year old in finland ready for 1st team

Theyre never good enough when they come through, you need a great team around them so their lack of ability is compensated for.

I had Morra who was fantastic but I got him during the Serie B stages of my save, so it was possible to slot him straight in, for him to be successful and I was lucky that he grew with the team and was able to stay on.

I might attempt this with my next decent youth / signing, but likely with my next save which I'm hoping to start on FM16 when I get it.

For now I am just going to follow Canini. and get him as close as I can.

Has the potential to be "better than Thauvin", is consistent and professional. He also doesn't have sucky Natural Fitness, which is a nice change. Doesn't look all that, though. Either way, he's going in.

Currently on 50 domestic games and 20 international games. Not bad for a 17 year old. It is hard getting him to start often though as I have a good side, but off the bench should suffice for now.
