A fantastic day. We went 1-0 down early on but Adam equalised which started a fight-back which saw us eventually round out 4-1 winners.

Season 27 ®angers

2975a42deec6535d42143f2862f8779b.png

Squad pt 1, pt 2

A pretty good season overall. I knew we wouldn't be good enough to challenge for the title but to finish 3rd with two cup wins is a lot better than I ever would have hoped for in pre-season. I was pretty gutted not to make the Europa League Group Stage but not much you can do when you draw a team like Monaco in the Playoff. If I'm still here next season I hope we can make the Group Stage proper.

GK - The All-American Dale Moreno was a great free signing and had a good season in goal for us. He's attracting interest from small PL and Ligue 1 sides who can still offer him much more than we can so we will do well to hang onto him over the summer.

DR - Esteban Calvo is a pretty good versatile RB, he's now just 3 caps away from a century for Costa Rica.

DL - Our LB, Emanuele Di Bartolomeo is okay without being all that. He wasn't as good as Calvo this season despite looking a far better player stats-wise. He has really good defensive and mental stats so it was annoying that he'd make such silly mistakes now and then.

DC - Our CB pairing was new signing Matt Kolb and 23 year old Dylan Hendry. Matt Kolb is some player and very good for this level - he cost us £2.6M and we may we receive double that for him in the summer if the smaller PL clubs follow up on their interest in him.

DM - Silvester Benko was a fantastic signing for £2.3M and he was one of our best players this season. Thankfully nobody is interested in him at the moment so we should hang onto him over the summer.

MC - Jim Reid came through the Academy here and he's some talent. He ended the season with 20 assists which broke the assist record for the club.

AMR - Tinguinha was another fantastic signing. Whilst the now 35 year old is past his best, he's still very good for this level and rounded the season off with 16 goals and 17 assists.

AML - Barry McGinn was another one of my signings that did well. We paid £700K for him and he didn't disappoint - 22 goals and 9 assists for him this season. He's got several clubs after him so we'll have to see if we can hang onto him.

CAM - 36 year old Stephen Shaw was our CAM and he had an okay season. He'd have some games where he'd be really good but some where he'd be anonymous. He also got injured a few times which led to spells out of the side.

ST - Kieran Wallace was the signing of the summer for £1.6M. We took him away from Stirling after he single handedly got them promoted and he was a huge part of us finishing as high as we did. He scored 39 goals in 50 games with 18 assists too, we'll do well to hang onto him over the summer.

Adam faired pretty well in his first season in Scottish football. He was used as a substitute like normal but he did put in decent performances when he came on, even starting 4 games. He finished the season with 2 goals and 6 assists.

No T jobs available so looks like I will be staying at Rangers and Spain for at least another year! I definitely won't be returning to the PL to manage Spurs, but the likes of Toulouse in Ligue 1, Torino in Serie A and Trofense in Portuguese PL are somewhat appealing. Toulouse especially as I haven't yet managed in France. There's also Tosno in the Russian PL and Telstar in the Eredivise, as well as a few lower league sides. I'm not that interested in Turkey as I'd rather stay with Spain for the 2044 Euros (if I don't get sacked for a poor World Cup :D)

A fantastic start to our WC Qualifying campaign. Very comfortable wins against Estonia and Serbia with hat-tricks for Mohamed Saidi and Adolfo Prieto.

Wales might be one to watch as they've won all 3 of their games so far.

I'm going to miss this thread when its done. I keep hoping for updates but its bitter sweet as your getting closer to Z

any ways can you let us know how much you have spent on Adam Hart over the years, and have you ever struggled to buy him?

Should still be a fair few seasons left in, especially if letters like 'X' and 'Z' take ages to get to ;)

The total in his history is at £1.8M. I've been quite lucky that he's not been that great as if he had been better I probably would've struggled to keep him at every club I've managed. It's never really been too hard to sign him, a few times I've had to wait until June/July when a few players get released to free up the wage budget to bring him in, but luckily I've never been unable to afford the transfer fee or the wages.

The biggest fee was £550K taking him from Kuban to Liverpool, but thankfully since then the price has more or less got smaller each time. It did jump back up to £300K to take him from Olympiakos to Porto but to get him to QPR cost just £69K and then just £20K to Rangers.

A fair few first team players left the club mostly for Premier League clubs who were offering them much higher wages etc than we could. I let them go and brought in cheaper replacements that will hopefully be up to scratch.

f52fe0e2f5e572dae15fc4e399e7a7e5.png

Romain David is a new CB, whilst fellow Frenchman, Jemil Leveneur is a RB. Adrien Potter is also French and he's an exciting new CAM. Filip Marjos is a Slovakian CB signed from Stirling. Mario D'Alessio is a striker aiming to replace Kieran Wallace. Doukas Inebolidis was signed for free from FC Nantes and the Greek winger should slot in as first choice AML. The rest of the players were young players brought in to add depth to the squad.

We struggled a bit in the away leg as we were still a bit rusty from pre-season, but we thumped Teplice 4-0 in the return tie to comfortably progress to the next qualifying round. We've got Lokomotiv Moscow which should be a pretty difficult tie.

A poor initial start with a 2-0 loss to Hibs but much better form since then including a late winner at Aberdeen, a penalty to seal the deal at home to Kilmarnock and a 3-2 win at home to Stirling. We could only draw with Inverness thanks to a penalty from Adam.

ec4fa7d26b5606c79e9728be578fdff3.png

I don't like to think too much about the table this early on but it's okay for now, especially as Celtic have started a bit slowly.

a4ed713c0a167a0a8c9ae329991f6424.png

Meanwhile in the Europa League we narrowly got past Lokomotiv Moscow to make it to the Playoff Stage. We got a respectable 1-1 draw out of the home tie which meant we went to Moscow needing a goal or two to get through. We got 3 of them, 2 of which came from Adam, it was his 2nd goal, a penalty, that ultimately saw us through on goal difference. A really big result for us.

c6f5a6984af642f51c82e3cae9adb3ca.png

We got even luckier in the Playoff Round. We got a really **** draw as we drew Athletic Bilbao who were one of the better sides we could have got We were 2-0 down in the first tie in Bilbao, but then we managed to win two penalties late on, we managed to score both of them which gave us two massive away goals. It was still an uphill struggle to get anything from the home tie, but the ever reliable Jim Reid popped up with a 63rd minute equaliser which we managed to hang on for a 1-1 draw with. This was enough to see us through to the Group Stage on away goals!

I put a mix of first team players and squad players out in the League Cup as we were playing lower league opposition. Unfortunately we lost. A bit annoying but if we're gonna go out of any competition I'm glad it's this one. Could be a blessing in disguise later on if we're still in the hunt for the title. I'm still annoyed we lost this though as we shouldn't be losing at home to them even with the weakened side I put out.

A hard fought loss against Inter Milan. We were 3-0 down at half-time but we came back fighting and dragged it back to 3-2, we very nearly equalised too.

A fantastic month in the league. We slipped up at Ross County but thanks to a great goal from Tinguinha I recorded my first ever Old Firm Derby win in the SPL and it came at Celtic Park - huge!

We absolutely thumped Estonia 8-1 which saw Mohamed Saidi score 5. We could only draw in Serbia which was a tad disappointing especially after the previous win, but Serbia isn't an easy place to go at the best of times.

We're still 3 points clear with 2 games left, though we definitely cannot afford to lose our away trip to Wales.

Interesting to see you have found the same as me. IN the fact that good french players seem to be cheap, and there is alot of them who are willing to move to the UK.

KUTGW - Have you been checking for other sons? Wonder if you have any others hiding in the various clubs you have managed.

Yeah I didn't really scout France in my first season as I didn't expect to be able to attract too many decent players but it turns out I was wrong as I now have 3 in my first team!

I have been checking each youth intake for sons after missing out on Adam but alas I have not yet had another one - although would be pretty mad to get two in the same save game tbf.

Yeh, same with me on my Portsmouth save. I have found that the French players are a huge step up, and usually cost as much or less than some of the British players that want to join.

On a side note, yeh 2 sons in one game would be unreal, and...you are getting on a bit now surely :) Unless you have a trophy wife from Portugal or Spain ;)

I'm only 50. Still plenty of time

I do like to think I have one or two ******* sons from my times in Germany, Italy, Spain, Greece, Russia, Holland and Portugal... Manchester, Liverpool and Scotland... not so much! :D

A much better month in the Europa League, we got a decent point away in Espanyol thanks to a very late equaliser from Adrien Pottier. We then pulled off a big 1-0 home win against CSKA Moscow to secure 3 vital points.

We'll need to beat Espanyol at home to stand a chance of qualifying for the knockout stages, which won't be an easy task, but certainly not unthinkable.

It was a good month save for the poor 4-2 loss at home to Hearts, we did have a man sent off in the first half though which really killed any chance of getting anything from the game.

We're still top and Celtic are still not really doing that well, but Hibs are building up a worrying amount of games in hand.

Yeah not sure what it is about them but they always seem to get a result. Could come back to haunt us this season as they're catching us up in 2nd at the moment. Hibs always seem to be a bit iffy as well pretty sure we've lost to them a few more times than we should have.

Yeah I did think that! Tbf he was born in Madrid and came through the Real Madrid youth setup, was born to Moroccan parents though. He's not bad tbf. Real Madrid captain at 27 and has 195 goals in 273 games for them, not Ronaldo form but not bad. 37 goals in 39 caps for Spain, although I think this number is helped by him banging them in against the smaller teams.

Not a bad week of international duty. I was worried going into the Wales game as if they won they might have beaten us to qualification but I needn't have worried as we smashed them just like we smashed Armenia a few days before.

A pretty disappointing trip to Moscow as we could only get a draw. Not the worst result when you think about it but we were 1-0 up from the 6th minute to the 88th minute so to blow 3 points so late on was quite annoying. We got out-done in Milan too, though we gave it a good shot, Inter were too much.

We're officially eliminated now as Espanyol have been doing alright including beating Inter.

A decent month in the SPL sees 7 points from 9, we should have won against Kilmarnock really but just couldn't score.

We might have gone out of the Europa League at Espanyol's expense but that didn't stop us from getting one over them and beating them 2-1 here.

A poor result against Inverness but elsewhere it was a fantastic month. Great late victories against St Mirren and Ross County, a good 3-0 thrashing of St Johnstone and finally... an unbelievable 5-0 destruction of Celtic in the Old Firm Derby. Unbelievable scenes.

We're sitting pretty at the top of the table but the dreaded Hibs do still have games in hand :(

It was a decent month. I'm not too fussed about dropping points at Dundee as that's not an easy place to go and we kept a clean sheet still but losing 3-0 at Aberdeen isn't great really.

We're sitting pretty at the top of the table though - Hibs have a game in hand but would still be 7 points behind us if they won it.

A shocking month really. A point at Celtic Park is alright but to lose to Stirling and drop points to Inverness is really poor. Just 2 points from 9 when you're going for the title is terrible.

Our 10 point lead has been diminished to 5 points. We really need to get back into form and we need to do it now.

It's a shame you started this with Arsenal, would have been more interesting to see you start with a lower club in order to challenge yourself.

I've done that before tbf. I fancied managing some of the bigger clubs I don't really get the chance to manage usually. I've managed a fair few small clubs too like Liverpool and Man United.

Liverpool & Man Utd aren't small clubs, try second tier in Belarus/ Norway / Sweden! :)

Not much I can say about this really. We ballsed up the first game as conceded a late equaliser that took it to a replay at Celtic Park, what transpired at Celtic Park was an absolute travesty. We were completed played off the pitch and lost 4-0 - an absolute disgrace and an embarrassment. Think it might have been my first loss in an Old Firm Derby too. The only consolation we can take is that we beat Celtic 5-0 earlier in the season in the league and are 17 points ahead of them in the league. But this was still an awful loss and the worst loss of my Rangers career that's for sure.

148bfb786c95537fbb6c732c23634504.png

Not the best month. We did win twice but we very nearly lost to St Johnstone away from home - Stephen Shaw massively saved us in the last minute with a fantastic goal on the counter. And surprise surprise we lost to ****ing Hearts :D

41c8f79a995c6f134a0b4a32fcef7c42.png

We're now just 4 points clear with a game to go, but obviously we also have the extra 5 games against sides in the top half. Our form at the moment isn't great in the league - we've won just 4 of our last 10 which is hardly the form of champions.

We're really pushing our luck. A nice 3-0 home win against Celtic aside, we've started our Championship run quite poorly. We couldn't beat Aberdeen at home and just about avoided defeat against our main rivals for the title Hibs.

acbfb58e49cc0640d50a18c36b3fa5b4.png

We're now only ahead of Hibs on goal difference with a home game against Stirling and an away trip to our bogey team Hearts left. Hibs have Celtic and Hearts away left - not easy games either, but it's gonna be really close I think.

A pretty dramatic end to the season. We came ever so close to losing to bogey team Hearts once again but it was the Prince of Harts, Adam Hart who popped up from the bench to smash home a dramatic late equaliser which made sure we'd go into the last game of the season on equal points with Hibs. We had the better goal difference but only by 1 or 2 goals so there was every chance we could lose the title if we only beat Stirling 1 or 2-0. We went for it and beat them 3-0 which put us into a great position, but thankfully our good friends at Celtic smashed Hibs 4-0 on the last day of the season to make sure it was never in doubt... it was almost like Celtic wanted us to win it :D

Season 28 ®angers

42196787811f6612b411c7e77cb9f727.png

Squad pt 1, pt 2

A fantastic season as we won the league. We were decent in Europe too, but quite poor in the cups, I'm not too fussed though as we won them both last season and getting knocked out probably helped us in our bid to win the league. I have to say it was quite a poor league this season and I don't think we'd have won it if Celtic had been as good as they were last season - our form towards the end of the season was pretty bad and Hibs being worse than us was the main reason we won it in the end. But I'm pleased to have won the league here within two seasons for Rangers.

GK - We hung onto Dale Moreno and he put in a good shift this season, one of few ever presents in the line up.

DR - Jemil Leveneur was signed for £2.2M from France and he had a decent first season for the club, perhaps not as good as the price tag which is a fair amount for a Scottish PL defender, but he's only 30 which is quite young for this division really, he could definitely put in 3 or 4 more good seasons for the club so will pay off in the long run.

DL - Di Bartolomeo had a pretty average year at LB, if anything he stagnated from last season. He's leaving on a free in the summer.

DC - Our CB pairing were two new signings in Romain David, a £2.5M signing from France, and Filip Majoros, a Slovakian that we poached from Stirling for a few million. Romain David was far the better signing and player and was probably our best defender. Gordon O'Halloran, a 21 year old Academy graduate eventually ended up replacing Majoros as first choice and he put in some very good performances.

DM - Silvester Benko remained at DM and he put in a very good season - another ever present and very key to our success.

MC - Jim Reid from the Academy was still here at CM and despite not reaching the heights of last season he was still quite a good player and a decent part of our team.

AMR - Tinguinha is 36 now but he was still one of our best players - he ended the season joint top scorer with 14 goals as well as 14 assists.

AML - Doukas Inebolidis was signed on a free transfer and the 29 year old Greek was the signing of the summer. A fantastic player who popped up with 6 assists and 13 goals but he contributed far more than his stats show, he was a cracking player and a real spark in the team.

CAM - Adrien Pottier was signed for £1.8M in the summer and he was worth every penny - a good CAM who popped up with 12 assists and 14 goals to also end up being joint top scorer.

ST - Mario D'Alessio was signed to replace Kieran Wallace but he didn't really live up to it. He scored 14 and ended the season joint top scorer but he just weren't that good really, I only ended up starting him 21 times as he was often out of form. Stephen Shaw, at 36, who played CAM last season got more starts up front with 26 starts and 9 goals, but Shaw did offer more than just goals, which D'Alessio didn't really.
