Manchester United Thread 2015/16

So you think taking off Fellaini and bringing on Powell was the correct thing to do? No point continuing this then.

I know we weren't going to win by playing the way we were with Fellaini. Changing it is a no-brainer and our options are very limited.

But the other plan is working?

We have no plan A or B,C. We are lucky to be in the position we are in.

See above.

********. I was optimistic of us scoring. They'd have dropped deeper and we'd have created more. Now i don't know what the plan is. We can't even get the ball.

Fellaini was dog **** all game bar the flukey goal. Serious over reactions in here. We keep the ball, its boring. We try go for it with a weak depleted side and its why can't we keep the ball

Did we take a positive step by taking him off for Powell? Was there a change? Did we get better? How were we going to play with him? How would it have been better?

No we didn't but not all risks pay off, he changed the system. It didn't work. If he didn't change it you'd still be unhappy

We go for "it" with a full strength team and get hammer. It's just not good enough.

How is it a risk? What changed? We went from hoofing it to Fellaini where something could have happened to what exactly? Did Powell touch the ball? Where was he playing?

But the side is weak, depleted and inexperienced because we dumped a bunch of players that could actually help. It is exactly what injuries would cause. Now we are stuck with a bunch of 19 year olds and none are named Butt, Neville or Backham.

We went 3 up top, Martial out wider. It didn't work. Neither did pumping balls into Fellaini. You can't say that something could have happened

What players do you refer to as dumped?

Borthwick Jackson was a horror show :D how is anyone thinking his performance was defensible?

He passed the ball straight to the opposition half the time, lost the chase for the ball the rest of the time, didn't know what he was doing or where he was supposed to be and was generally absolutely terrible.

He was basically their 12th man on the left.

Another ******** excuse. He's a goal scorer. Get the ball in and around the box and he'll score goals. Love this idea that he needs a team defending on the half way line to do anything :D

Well he hasn't exactly a great goalscorer for anyone since 2011, so that's not really true.

Like I said, be glad he's found his level and is having a good run of form.

Which he stopped being good at as well. Our problem is we struggle to break down teams who defend deep, I can't think of a striker who would be less suited to playing in that situation. Well, apart from Rooney.

Yeah getting rid of Hernandez wasn't the problem. Not upgrading the rest of the attack (and our horribly slow play) is whats killing us

Other sides have depleted sides & get on with it, like Bournemouth with small resources who lose their best striker for the season. Arsenal have been decimated with injuries. The owners will soon take note once we start sliding down the league & fans, particularly from abroad start looking elsewhere. That's what finished Moyes. At least he wasn't arrogant like this clown.

Well seeing as he'd be our best striker it doesn't say much about how low our level is

Seriously starting to question what on earth van Gaal is playing at. Bringing on a reserve level player at best, who then went on to have absolutely no impact, taking off our only threat, and leaving Ashley Young on the bench. Just really ****ing poor decision making.

End of the first half we looked like we could go on to win, second half we weren't even close.

No idea what Young has done to fall out of favour tbh
