Man Utd extend their title win record to 35, 10 clear of our 25. I really want to land the Premier League again but will have to wait a bit longer. Bad start but hardly the end of the world. That result leaves our record looking like this. _______________________________________________ Our second chance for silverware then came in the FIFA Club World Cup. That continues our 100% record in the comp. _______________________________________________ So that brings us to our third chance of a trophy this season. Maw74 Posted April 8, 2018 Author Share Posted April 8, 2018 (edited) PREMIER LEAGUE So straight in the middle of our 2 legs with Barcelona we have a big top of the table clash with Man Utd, if we lost it would be hard to see us able to catch them, so far this season they have thumped us 5-0 at Old Trafford and then beat us 3-2 at Wembley, we will face them again at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi-Finals and maybe again in the CL? Anyway here is how the game went in front of a crowd of 82,236 at Woodward Park. That leaves the battle for the title looking like this........ COME ON STOPSLEY! CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - SEMI-FINAL This didn't go so well. PREMIER LEAGUE - TITLE RACE This didn't go so well either, we had 2 games in hand and were 4pts behind Man Utd. Well we blew it, we suffered a 3-2 loss to Brentford, that result was sandwiched by those Champions League games so very very bad times, we did keep our hopes alive with a late win over Huddersfield but a 3-3 draw with Oxford saw the gap at 3pts with 2 games left. We celebrated our title win with a 6-0 win over Stoke in front of a packed Woodward Park. _______________________________________________ CHAMPIONS LEAGUE We have made it to the last four and it looks like we will be taking on Man Utd again. I then wondered why former DoF wasn't showing in staff transfers. Just found out by checking members screen. Dreer is now a director. that is nice as he has been at the club for over 20 years. _______________________________________________ PLAYER NEWS I was giving him some cup games and then some league games at the end of the season just in case this would happen, I hope he will decide to give it 1 more season but I doubt it. Championship leaders Luton shocked us. _______________________________________________ Brentford lead the title race and beat us 2-0 in a top of the table clash but we bounced back by smashing Arsenal. Champions League Exit! We went into the final game 2nd in group with AC Milan in 3rd, we were on 10pts and they were on 9pts.So this was a knockout game, it started well but we suffered late heartbreak and couldn't hit back. Another tough game but we recovered to take them to a replay. We Are held By Brighton! This was one of our games in hand on Man Utd, points dropped after we dominated.
