Now i am in league 2...

I am now one of the worst league teams and games are crazy. I'm tired of winning 5x4. I think it's going too much goal ...

Yep. Lost first ever home match to Swansea, edged past Napoli. Then got thumped 5-1 to Norwich who had just come off the back of a 8-2 defeat to Burnley. Hope Mr Hough can give some sort of advice on how to get things flowing again.

I'm still managing to stop the update downloading. I was three games away from taking my crappy Gainsborough team to the North title and now trying to build for new season in the conference. Im going to hold off on that update as long as I can...

..started with Man Utd on 15.3 patch, first league game vs Burnley and won 9-0 and my line-up was slightly wrong but didn't realise until it finished.

This tactic was never consistent for me last patch either. After superb start as i mentioned few post earlier i went to loosing-drawing streak that almost costed me season. I dropped tactic in mid-season and managed to be win promotion.

ALways the same... 2-3 goal lead then AI comeback or even win - also low league players are so bad in CF position...

Finished the season with Man Utd on 15.3 and won league very comfortably. Played 38; 35W/1D/2L. Goals For: 156 Goals Against: 29. Quite similar to what I had on the older patch.

Definitely still working fine for me. Built a full English team at Man Utd and won everything; community shield, epl, league cup, fa cup and champions league.

Seriously man, winning with top team don't prove anything... make this with some mediocre team and it can be proof.

I understand that, I'm just saying it's basically working the same on the new patch with a "top team".. If there's no difference with a top team, why would there be any difference with any others?

Playing as exeter, after winning promotion into league 1 the day before the new patch, I then won league 1 using this tactic in the consecutive season. So I played a whole new season in a higher league with largely the same group of players and won the league with a game to spare.

To add some context to that, Matt Grimes is still my best player. I haven't used any editors on any players.

The tactic still works.

P.S 10 games into my championship season, i'm 5th, still using 6 of the same 11 I won league 1 with. (3 of which I won league 2 with!)

As a huge and long term fan of Mr. Hough's tactics I'm pissed that I didn't came back any quicker on this forum to discover he's again making tactics.

I want to use this tactic as I love the 3-striker tactics he make, just one question, which version do I need to use? My game's on 15.3? I see people saying this tactic "lost" it after the 15.3 patch while others say it's still working so I want to try it out myself.

I've been using it with Bristol City in the Prem (3rd season in) after patching to 15.3 just prior to the season starting, thought I had made a big mistake after I found myself in the bottom three come September, but persevered with it (after dallying with Mr Roslers tactic) and I am now storming up the table, beating Arsenal and Man City, coming back from 3-0 down against Chelsea to draw 3-3 and in the quarters of the FA Cup. Just after New Years and I am now 9th, took until December for my new players to fully bed in and my old players to acclimatise to the Prem, but still works for me. Great tactic, was so much fun going through the leagues with this.

Word of caution, you need a decent GK/DM, fast CB/WB's and someone 'crazy' up front (high flair/technique/long shots - Like JET/Saurez etc). Also if you concede early you may be in for a tonking....

Started a Roma save with this tactic on 15.3 - averaged 3 goals a game whilst hardly conceding any, although I did get spanked by Chievo 4-1. Got to the start of December with two defeats, one draw and the rest wins.

All in all this tactic does what it says on the tin, but I had to stop using it. I just couldn't get any satisfaction from using someone else's tactics. It was interesting to watch it at work though.

Mr H - is your new tactic going to be dependant on OI's or can it be played in Classic mode?

I havent Used OI's at all, There will be 2 versions of the tactic a 4-1-2-1-2 and a 4-1-2-3.

Still testing and i've just lost my First Game 2-0 to Stoke, My team is Ravaged with injuries though and with Everton being a small squad as it is i dont have any decent back up.

Good to hear there are no OI's :)

Hopefully the rest of ur testing goes well.

Heya Hough, been using your tactic for a while, and its been working well for me as Ebbsfleet, i did not make the changes to the fullbacks becoming wingbacks that you mentioned in an earlier post though, so might be worth trying full backs again if people finding the tactic to not be working.

I haven't used any OI for this, and I'm 2nd in the premier league with my promoted Forest team. Works a charm. Started using it two weeks ago. So I think it's a bit to do experience rather than exploiting ME, as some has suggested.

Great work, Dave!

It's good at home, but bad away from home. You'll have a lot of chances but miss most of them, whilst the opponents will score all of their shots on target. Against bigger teams away from home you can easily get trounced by 4 or 5. I assume because the wing backs are not providing enough cover for the centre-backs.

A good example here of what I mean. This is a regular occurrence using this tactic unfortunately (I'm using the 'here comes the stinger' variant), so I'd advise against using it unless you're managing a club with all world class players. It doesn't really work otherwise.

I will be making tactics for FM16 i already have one underway i'll keep you informed.

Looking forward to that. What formation are you gunning for this time?

during the beta and initial testing 3 at the back seems to be very stable its more hard to score this time around rather than keeping clean sheets.

The match engine has changed considerably since the original Beta was released.

Yes i know but 3 at the back is still the safest way to go probably for now i find anyway.

Looking forward to it Mr Hough. I made a variation of your 4123 tactic with a target man that destroyed FM15 but it doesn't seem to work in 16. I was thinking about reinventing the diamond in a 442 again instead but making it fairly similar to the 4123 formation which has just been the king of the last few games.
