Conceded 43 goals in 19 matches. The worst defensive record I've ever had.

Not sure what to do anymore. Let in 43 goals in 19 matches. Only thing that has kept us up in the Adelante has been outscoring the opposition in the few games that we win.

You have no defensive players in midfield, and they all want to take up the same position on the ball.

A much higher line with all that closing down in going to leave a lot of space in behind. Your centre backs are really slow.

No protection for your offensive, overlapping fullbacks from your AM wingers (bug or feature, you decide).

You need to look at what kind of goals you are conceding and why. Its impossible to know the solution without knowing the problem afterall.

Step 1 - Look at your goals conceded analysis - where are the assists coming from?

Step 2 - Pick a range of goals conceded, say 5 at minimum, from recent matches. Watch back the highlights of the goal including a good 30secs at least before the actual goal. Ask yourself what your players and team could have done differently to prevent each goal and then consider what changes you would need to make to drive the behaviour needed to stop the goals. Of course be mindful that not every goal can be stopped. 30 yard screamers happen, individual errors happen and in the current build, rebound goals happen. But look for average open play goals in your sample and really watch them, look at team shape, players position when possesion was turned over before the goal, etc.

Aside from that, swansongs makes some fair observations:

- Your midfield 3 is a very unusual set up, ask yourself what were you looking to achieve, individually and collectively, when you chose those roles and duties. At face value, no defend duty in there, and with your mentality of control your fullbacks will be set to support (iirc). So only 2 defend duties in the entire first 11?

- You are set for a very high press. Nothing wrong with that, but you need the players to pull it off. Do you excel in Team work, work rate, stamina, decisions? If not, then ask if that is really the right approach for your team

- Wide men in AM strata might as well be considered attackers. They will start very high up the pitch and will not give your fullbacks any cover. This might be deliberate, but think about what that adds to your team and what it takes away.

I (along with others), could just say "move your wingers back to ML/MR, change your DM to a defend duty and one of your AP to a BBM" (examples only), but really thats a stab in the dark or generic advice. You need to think about what your trying to set out your team to do, and then look at why its failing to happen :)

Hope that helps.
