Have you ever skipped version of FM to continue playing an old save?

I had a brilliant save with Melilla that I skipped FM14 for. Well up until around April.

I skip every other version now. I bought FM08 and 09, but went back to my 07 save both times. Since then, I've missed 11 and 13, and will be missing 15 as well.

I always end up buying every version of FM, but the first 10-30 hours of gameplay determine whether or not I'll spend 0000's of hours on it, or revert back to a prior version.

I didn't much take to 09, 10, or 14. Technically I didn't skip them, but we're talking double digits of playing time, versus four digits.
