HelveticaLite Rebooted (1.3)

A light skin for Football Manager 2015.

Updated : 17.12.2014

Next step : make the mini sidebar version.

Changes in 1.3 version :

- fixed the dark on dark text colour of the instant result button

- fixed the transparent match plan confirmation panel

- fixed the transparent instant result post match panel

- fixed the background colour of Backroom advice item panel

- fixed the dark on dark back/next icons colour

- fixed the dark text in Match player instructions panel

- it does not swap anymore players kits and players name in the Predicting line-up pre match panel

- replaced the bullet icons

- retouched the whole match boxes style

How to install :

Extract the content of the zip file at the root of your /skin folder.

Windows: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2015\skins\

Mac OS X: /Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2015/skins/

Create the folder "skins" if it doesn't exist.

Start the game and go to Preferences screen then click on the Interface tab.

You should see two "HelveticaLite RC1..." as options in the skin drop down menu of the Overview box.

Choose yours then press the Confirm button.

If you get any displaying issue, please go to > Preferences > Interface (if you can't, press SHIFT and P on your keayboard), then load "Football Manager" original skin, then return to Interface preferences, lear the cache and reload HelveticaLite by unticking the "Use caching to decrease page loading times" THEN tick "Reload skin when confirming changes in preferences" (you may reload the skin at any time by pressing SHIFT+R).

  • Added Dazs8 Background selector (no overlay features) with 6 backgrounds from subtlepatterns (the default bg is the last at right)
  • Added "Games played in this position" panel in "Player overview" selector menus
  • Added club/competition logos in the sidebar under the calendar
  • Moved up the Wages/Value row under the "Contract" row in "Player personal details"
  • Fixed the truncated line in "Contract" row in "Player personal details" when an agent owns the player

Unzip then place the "helveticalite" folder into your skins folder:

Windows: \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2015\skins\

Mac OS X: /Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2015/skins/

Create the folder "skins" if it doesn't exist.

Start the game and go to Preferences screen and Interface tab.

You should see "HelveticaLite Instant Result" as option in the skin drop down of the Overview box.

Hit the Confirm button.

To get the same squad view than on screenshots, place the "views" folder at the root of \Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2015\ or for Mac OS /Documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2015.

To Minigod and ClemB (oui, je parle français ;)) :

i will modify it tonight (and why not to provide an alternative version with a mini sidebar, just with icons and without texts. I think of a dark grey sidebar, more neutral. What do you think ?

I just tried at your resolution (in Windowed mode) and it works fine. Maybe you can try to start the game using the original skin, THEN once your game started, to go to the preferences and change the skin. Let me know if it works.

I can't see this skin in my options, I can choose only the original one...Does anyone know how to solve this? I put the skin in skins folder, like every year - Documents/SI/FM15/skins, but I don't see it there...Thanks for help

EDIT: Ok, I solved it, I didn't have the folder with skin named 'helveticalite'

Tried full screen mode (1990*720), still have black screen and when I restart FM15 with new skin I get caught on loading screen forever.

Edit: Resolution is 1920&1080 not as stated above.

Do not start the game with my skin in this case. Delete my skin folder, then start the game using the original skin. Then unzip again my skin into the skin folder, then go to preferences and select my skin, it should work.

Hey mate,

the skin looks nice, but do you think that is possible to have stadium picture in team overview screen (for example in your 3rd picture attached in the first post) - under KITS, it will be nice to have stadium picture...

do you think if is possible to add this?

Really like the look of this skin but I am getting the same problem. Just a black screen. :(

As i never got this problem, in spite of i tested it on 3 different computers, i can't explain it. It may be the parent skin tag in the settings : <flags id="parent" value="fm" /> .

Edit the value in the file helveticalite.xml (at the root) and replace value="fm" by value="fm dark-widgets".

Otherwise, please try this :

Start the game with the original skin, then go to preferences > interface settings. Then, press the "Clear cache" button, then untick "use caching..." and tick "Reload skin...". Then select my skin and confirm.

Let me know if it works.

I love your skin, but I have some requests, I hope you can help me :)

Is it possible:

1- Change the color of that litle bar from gray to blue (don't know if you know what I mean);

2-When you move the mouse around those options (Transfer Offer, Transfer Status, etc), it should me marked by a color, try on the regular skin, you will know what I am refering.

3-The font is a litle big, I wanted to be a litle more small.

Cheers for the update drswit, I tried the updated version and it worked straight away. Really nice skin, probably the nicest I have come across in three or four years, keep up the good work. If I come across any problems or little niggles I'll let you know in this thread.

Thanks Pazzmon92 for your kind words. Yes, there is still some problems i have to fix. The main one is that i don't find which attribute controls that white text which clashes with light grey backgrounds. I'll keep searching ;)

The sidebar is grey from the version 1.1. Yours is pink because the sidebar picks up the primary or secondary colour of your club. I'll try to find if it may be fixed.

What a disappointment to see today that the official release version of FM2015 does not have any light skin. My idea was to work from it.

Seriously, this dark skin is one of the worst one released in years... like an insult to any serious graphic designer (any interface designer knows it : an UI where the user will spends HOURS to kind of only reading TEXT (yea, FM is nothing else than a Excel viewer displaying stats) has to be relaxing for the eyes, it means... LIGHT. :eek:

In the meanwhile, i have worked around my skin, redone from scratch, thanks to the base skins provided by michaeltmurrayuk.

Main problems has been fixed, but i still have to fix a last annoying problem : the text colour of the menus, which is called by the same attribute than for the buttons.

Expect some news tonight i hope ;)

Me too, why didn't they release a White Skin this year? Even the editor skin is white :lol:

Ok, as i know it's frustrating to wait, let's play with the version 2.0 of the skin.

Main problems have been fixed, but be warned : there are still some minor problems to fix, as some menu icons colour, match fitness and competition stage tables texts which are too light.

That being said, it's playable and, i hope, enjoyable ;)

Please let me know about bugs.

PS : many thanks to michaeltmurrayuk‎ to have provided the base skins from which i worked.

Bugs in version 2.0

There is problem with bold font which did not support czech language (Letters like č,ř,ů,ě .....) => Underline.

In league table is my team too light & stats too.
