Won the Conference at the first time of asking and I mean Just won it. Holy cow, ended with a 60 yarder by Nicholls after Woking pushed their keeper up to try push them into the playoffs.

Totally screwed up my first season in football league due to FFP. Was like 3k over, had a 5 month transfer embargo had to play mostly kids. All about surviving this year. Luckily managed to release 3k worth of player wage a week before the loan deadline to bring 5 guys in.

Canvey Island - Barclays Premier League - 2027/28

After retaining the Premier League title, we were hoping to open up a gap between us and second.

League Table - we scored our way to the title with an incredible 133 goals.

Community Shield - this was revenge for last year.

Capital One Cup - Watford gave us our toughest test as we won this trophy for a second time.

FA Cup - Huddersfield nearly knocked us out, but we recovered to make it to Wembley. We left it late to turn on the style in the final.

UEFA Champions League - Lyon gave us a shock defeat, but we showed our class to make it to the final. Just like the FA Cup final, we left it late to get the deserved win.

Transfers - we made a loss here, but the players signed were brilliant.

Squad - we badly need a new keeper and both full backs.

Finances - we were in bad debt midseason, but the prize money sorted that out.

Key Player Profiles:

Alejandro Fernández - he was scoring for fun until he broke his foot.

Tobias Koller - a stunning season for the supporting striker.

Park Min-Ho - signed as backup, but found himself leading the line with the injury to Fernández.

Didier Kouakou - a long term transfer target, signed on a free.

Wellington Luís - second choice, but makes the most of his opportunities.

The squad still has plenty of room for improvement, so if I can sign a couple of key players then I will be happy.

After flittering around Football Manager 2015 and spending lots of hours doing not much I have decided to try this challenge to get my first long term save going this edition.

Profile Here http://imgur.com/fstEIdI

Edit: Mucked up the start date (I originally went on holiday to July, not June) uploaded new profile image, though its pretty much identical. I had to do a lot of reloading to get the same team, they did decided to pay me £100 a week more which is nice

Dulwich Hamlet - Sky Bet League 1 - 2024/25

League - we were on the top spots the entire season and fortunately managed to hold on to 2nd and avoid the dreaded play-offs.

FA Cup - an unfortunate exit with an own goal on the last minute.

Capital One Cup - Rotherham were better and deserved to win.

Johnstone's Paint Trophy - poor performance, which means we reach the Championship without a good JPT run.

Squad - we won promotion with sub standard strikers but they still contributed a lot, along with a great midfield.

Transfers - we're having trouble attracting good players due to their wage demands.

Finances - hopefully next season we'll get some income. Another season here and finances would be in the red.

DAFUGE: congratulations on completing the "Famous Quadruple" as well as the challenge! I see others are very close as well, best of luck to the rest of you!

A little update on my challenge, after being sacked in my 2nd season at FC United, I took charge at recently promoted Kingstonian. The season started pretty well, and saw me sitting at about 8th in the VCS, but I hit a bad patch of form, about 9 games without a win now. It's early January, and the board just gave me an ultimatum: 8 points in my next 5, or I'm toast. Pretty harsh for a newly promoted team, and not exactly Hereford, if you ask me. Expect an update soon, hopefully a positive one.

Here's a little

, while I type up my King's Lynn season 7 summary. Video of my 2nd consecutive playoff final in the Vanarama conference --- hoping for better results this year. Had fun streaming it again---a few people joined once again. Warning: the video is about 70min long! (full 3d match engine w/ my commentary).

Season update will be up sometime tomorrow, most likely...soon as I can take the time to type it out.

Overview

At the start of the season I was struggling to build on a 5th place finish in League 2 due to high wages being asked from prospective signings. As a consequence I ended with an understrength defence in relation to the ability of the rest of the squad. We did well to grind out a 2nd place finish but it was a struggle at times.

A run in the FA Cup ended with a 5th round away tie at West Ham. We lost decisively but the revenue was vital meaning we have funds to spend going in to next season.

The Team

GK Jake Kean - experienced ex-Derby, Blackburn and West Ham Keeper signed in the summer and had a decent season.

WB Peter Hayes - Young Fullback signed last summer from Waterford as one for the future. Went straight into the team.

CB Mark Nutt - Club captain had a very good season.

CB Declan O'Reilly - Irish Centreback signed in January from Sligo but suffered a bad injury and only played 10 games.

FB Cristinel Nalati - Pacy Romanian Fullback, did well this season but should be replaced for next season.

RM Fahad Rwakarambwe - Played in the Championship with Portsmouth. Converting to a wide role having signed early in the season.

AP Dan Crowley - Playmaker had his best season with the club. After 4 years still a leading player in the team.

DLP Emmanuel Eromoigbe - Nigerian midfielder had a good second season with the club.

W Ben Everiss - Spent two seasons on loan from Chelsea before signing permanently in the Summer and did well.

AF Des McDowell - Irish striker scored 32 goals and created 17 in an excellent season.

DLF Dave Black - Released by Man U without playing a game. formed a great partnership with McDowell and scored 28 goals.

Can I ask why you released him initially? He looks outstanding even for League Two.

I was attracting a number of higher rated players in the summer and he was on high wages so I thought I would let him go. As it turned out I couldn't replace him so re-signed him.

He did really well every season with me and in the end I regretted losing him as he was in the Charlton side that knocked us out of the League Cup.

Hereford United - Conference National - Mooing on up

Final position: 4th

League Table.

A weird season all in all.

We were battling for playoffs all the way through, but played quite badly. A change of tactic to a flat 442 and then another change of tactic helped us on our way. We finished 4th but lost to Chester in the playoff semis. Chester, Torquay and Newport were all better than us during the season, so it was pretty deserved.

The high point of our season was our 1st round proper FA Cup win against League 1 team Port Vale.

Transfers.

A lot of rubbish youth players out plus some highly paid backups. Once again we oversaw a lot of deals.

Squad.

Once again we performed sub par, and we will need to step up our game. I fear, that our finances will crumble if we aren't promoted this year.

For a reason I can't figure out, Paris Cowan-Hall was again our top performer. He is only asessed at 2 stars, but is still by far our best performing player.

Jamar Loza was our topscorer. The Jamaican Norwich reject banged in lots of goals in a partnership with Uche Ikpeazu. Uche returns to Watford next year, and Jamar will play alone on top (at first at least).

So I have just raced through my 1st season with Ashton united, unfortunately it went horribly, my defence was the main problem and however I changed things it didnt seem to help, I aquired an attacking midfieler and tried a 442 diamond, but that failed even more than the flat 442 which i reverted back too. One of my new signings played badly enough that I had to promise the board to not play him, however due to fixture congestion I ignored them a few times. This was the straw that broke the camels back, and I was sacked in March.

League Table http://imgur.com/vHfyvLi

Transfers http://imgur.com/RKsLGYG (note I was sacked before any march transfers)

The only remarkable thing was that we were never dead last.

I intend to try to nab a job with a newly promoted side, however this may prove impossible without adding a new manager, so if no-one gets sacked part way through the season I will just start from the beginning and try again.

I am sure much of the reason for the disastrous season is me just getting frustrated at players seemingly doing absolutely nothing how I wanted them to and just blasting through games, instead of fully finding out why things aren't working (I have never got to understand the new system anywhere near as much as the old sliders)

Just been awarded three pens against Blackburn  not that they were enough to even claim a point as Blackburn won 5-3, though with a Strikeforce of Rhodes and Mandzukic they are currently walking the league.

With ten games gone in the Championship we are holding our own and are in tenth place but only four points clear of the relegation places, which includes a rock-bottom Middlesbrough side who have only played five games due to being in the Europa League.

On the plus side I have just snapped up two quality Strikers on free transfers one worth £4m and the other £8m

Evertonblokes Bognor Regis Season 24/25

Well it has been a tough season, after the first game which we won 5-2 we managed to go 18 games without a win! It was horrific!

After that I started tinkering with tactics, managed to get some half decent moves together, then the odd point here and there. At the half way point we were 11 points from safety. I managed to get this back to 6 points with 12 games to go and thought I might pull off a great escape, but unfortunately not.

As I write this I my game is holidaying the final few games for me as it had become mathematically impossible to stay up, 4 games to go and 13 points from safety, sadly the mid-season recovery could not be maintained and I am now adding yet another relegation to my CV.

I believe I will be keeping my job this time though as we are going down to a playable league!

One big problem for the coming season though will be our massive lack of funds. Last time I was brave enough to look we were £600k in the red. The board cut my wage budget by just over £1000 a week, so I will be releasing players and not replacing them this close season. Although to be fair knocking £1000 a week off the wage budget is not going to make a great deal of difference, I think a take over could be on the cards soon. I just hope it happens before we go into admin and get docked 10 points.

I realised the problem with my team this season is they quite simply were not good enough, I checked my best player (3.5 stars) only to find out he was only a decent conference national player, my BEST player! I realised I had struggled to bring in decent players but I hadn't realised it was that bad.

My target for next season is to bounce straight back up, I think we are a better side than the side that went up, plus our rep will be a little higher from the two seasons we had in the conf national, its only the finances that could scupper us this season.

Summary:

15/16 Billericay - Conf South - 13th

16/17 Billericay - Conf South - 9th

17/18 Billericay - Conf South - 20th - Relegated and sacked

18/19 Margate - Conf South - 11th

19/20 Margate - Conf South - Sacked in October

20/21 Canvey Island - Conf South - 22nd - Relegated and sacked

21/22 Stamford - Conf North - 20th - Relegated and sacked

22/23 Bognor Regis - Conf South - 5th - Promoted via Play-offs

23/24 Bognor Regis - Conf Prem - 20th

24/25 Bognor Regis - Conf Prem - 23rd - Relegated

Update (end of May '25) - about half my players are unhappy, I've gone £784,000 in the red, and the board have just told me I will lose my job if I don't improve player happiness in 5 months. Game on then!........

King's Lynn

Season 2020/2021

Table / Position Graph / Squad / Finances / Transfers / Manager / Lg. Records (team) / Lg. Records (ind) / Confidence / Competitions / Reputation

Season Six saw King's Lynn meet a number of milestones. It started with the board's decision to turn professional, though we were still in the Vanarama Conference. This came as a total, if pleasant, surprise, and I wasted little time in signing some key players to full time contracts; the better to make use of training time now available to us. Whether or not that was a key to what would turn out to be a successful season, I am not sure...but it sure did not help. We received little more in the way of help, as our sponsorship deal has stagnated at <£20K/year despite last season's successful run in both the league and the cups.

We started out a bit slow --- hovering around the mid-table point for much of the first two months---though we were seldom more than 5 points out of the playoff spots even then. I wasn't too worried, however, as we started the season without two of my key players, and I figured that we would go on a decent run of matches when they returned...and once they were back and match fit, we took off on that run. By the mid-season point, it was obvious that we were going to beat the oddsmakers predictions (a 24th placed finish....after all we had done last season!), and maybe even exceed my own board's expectations of a mid-table finish. Obvious enough that I upped the ante and took the slight salary/xfer fund increase by predicting a top half finish (I wasn't quite ready to predict playoffs). I was hoping to use the transfer funds to catch a DM or MC that had caught my eyes...but I couldn't afford the salary they were requesting, though the owning teams had thought to sell. I did pull in a couple new players mid-season, and they featured well in our 2nd half run.

And it was quite a run. After crashing out of both the FA Trophy and the FA Cup in consecutive matches, we lost a total of two more matches through the last half of the season. Unlike last season, where we struggled to beat the top-5 teams in the league, we actually managed to beat most of those teams this time around---with only League winners Bury giving us problems (though we managed a 1-1 draw in that match).

This propelled us into the playoff spots with a dozen or so matches to play, and we never looked to drop out of them. It was only a matter of seeding at that point (Bury had enough of a lead that I didn't think we would catch up, and we never really got close). With just a final match to play, we found ourselves in 3rd, behind Barrow by a point, but with a superior goal differential. This goal differential was important, as I was only able to get a draw in our final match (vs Chester, who ended 11th). However, a loss by Barrow put us back into 2nd place, and a top seeding match against Rochdale (whom I had another draw just a few matches before--this one a 3-3 affair which snapped my 5-match clean sheet run).

Speaking of clean sheets, our defense played outstanding football, helping Goalkeeper Ellis keep a league 2nd best 17 clean sheets through the year (trailing only Bury who had 19), and conceding only 47 goals (again, 2nd in the league behind Bury's 34 conceded). We are currently on a 20-match unbeaten streak at the conclusion of our playoff matches as well. The fullback situation is still in a bit of flux, though I did sign DL Parker who put in a solid, if unspectacular, 30 appearances. He wanted to much for the next year, so I ended up letting him go and will be looking to replace him for the coming season. DCs Marriot, Whiteoak, and Carney rotated in the backfield, and DR Barnes and Ramm kept the right side of the defense in check all season long. Ramm is being tutored by Barnes, who will likely stay with the team only another season, as I will really need to get a better option on that side...or hope Ramm grows into it more fully.

The midfield also received some additions, with MCs Greenhaf and Beech joining and rotating in with Turl and Thorton (my FK specialist). Fofana and Everington are still with the team, but finding little playing time with the new additions and will likely be let go in the post season. Up front, we still have the dynamic duo of Watson and van Engel, who continue to shine. van Engel had another 20+ goal season, but it was Watson who ran away with the scoring trophy (and surpassing van Engel's team goalscoring record by one in the process). Watson had an incredible 38 goals on the season, and the 34 league goals put him at the top of the league goal scoring sheet for the 2nd consecutive year. This year, at least, he was shortlisted for PoY, and probably should have won it (1st in goals scored, 2nd in PoM and AvR), but the votes didn't fall his way and he had to be content with the top goalscorer award. Sub striker Harding, my 2nd year graduate, got a few matches in, but didn't impress -- he hasn't developed hardly at all, and I think I'll be letting him go at the end of the season to make room for some of the later graduates to have a chance to make a mark on the team.

If it ain't broke...don't fix it.....My preferred formation for the season was a 4-1DM-3-2 (narrow)--again--and I used it exclusively throughout the season. Solid in defense, and plenty of chances created, this tactic has been excellent throughout the challenge. The players I'm signing (or brining through the youth) fit in well, and all I need do is tweak instructions based on playing conditions and opposition. It's seldom that I've been able to exclusively use one formation for so long....but I find it hard to believe there is anything that will work better at the moment!

Financially, we are doing well. We ended up making a small amount of money this season, with the bulk coming from the playoffs --- and most of that went right back into the stadium, as the board work on getting it up to standards for the next step --- League Two play! Still, we start the season with more than £500K, and my salary budget has doubled to £30K and a transfer budget of £300K.

PROMOTION/PLAYOFFS

Yes! League Two, here we come! 2nd season in the Vanarama Conference, 2nd year in the playoffs, 2nd playoff final.....and 1st playoff win! Thankfully, out of the "league of death", and into league football proper. The playoffs saw us face off first against Rochdale, whom we had beat 3-1 early in the season before settling for a 3-3 draw late. So, it was with high hopes we went into the away leg, and it didn't take long for Watson to make his mark on the match, scoring less than two minutes into the contest, splitting two defenders and burying the ball in the top left corner of the net. That was all the scoring in the half, as the defense strangled Rochdales chances at every opportunity. However, less than 4 minutes into the second half, Rochdale found the equalizer, with DC Marriot getting caught flat-footed and missing a crucial interception, allowing Geoff Whitbread to change the complexion of the game. It didn't stay changed long, however, as Marriott made up for his mistake in the 53rd minute with a nice header from short range and giving us the 2-1 away lead--which would hold until the final whistle.

More than 2500 made it to the home match, with King's Lynn holding the 2-1 aggregate lead, which would hold through the first 45 minutes. Then, near the hour mark, Rochdale made it 2-2 aggregate, with some nifty passing leaving my backfield completely out of position. With Rochdale pressing forward for a winner, it was left to Watson, once again, to play hero, pouncing on a rebound from sub striker Harding in the 80th minute and sending the team to their second consecutive final match at Wembley.

The twitch-televised final pitted King's Lynn against Barrow --- whom we had beat in both previous meetings of the season. More than 38K were in attendance as Watson (yes, THAT Watson) once again opened the scoring inside of 2 minutes -- Thorton firing in a freekick which the keeper parried to my center-back Whiteoak at the near post, who side-passed it to an open Watson. It was as easy a shot as Watson had taken all season, and he certainly didn't miss. Up 1-0, and my midfield was strangling Barrow (who were playing a 4-4-2 w/ 2 DMCs), allowing the ball hardly to cross the mid-line for the half -- and the half ended 1-0. Barrow opened the play a little in the second half, but it was King's Lynn, through Watson's 2nd of the match -- a nice shot from the 17 yard mark just in front of the D, to give us a 2-0 lead. From there, Barrow went to a heavy 4-2-4 offensive formation, and we countered by switching gears between a counter attacking and controlling style. The change of pace kept Barrow on the back foot, but they managed a consolation goal in the 86th minute (credited as an own-goal to DC Carney, but i'm not so sure it should not have be credited to Barrow's striker. A couple of really close calls (Ellis got caught well out of the net on one occasion at about the 89th minute, but the cross was (barely) dealt with --- had fullback Parker not gotten a touch on the ball, Trewick had a wide-open net in front of him). There were a couple of really bad missed shots on Barrows part throughout the match, and in the end, the clinical finish of Watson proved the difference (Watson ended w/ 4 shots, 3 on target and 2 goals --- Barrow only managed 3 shots on target out of 13 total themselves).

It was over---Conference football is now in the rear-view mirror, and I can look forward to the challenge of league football next year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cup Competitions

There wasn't a lot to be said of the cups this season---we took a step back in the FA Trophy losing our only match away to Met Police. However, that loss allowed us to concentrate on the league, and we only lost two matches the rest of the season, so I won't complain too much!

We had at least a little success in the FA Cup, beating VCN winners AFC Telford 2-0 in the FAC 4QR (both Watson and van Engel scoring the two goals), then beating fellow VC team Alfreton in a close-fought 1-0 match (Who else...Watson securing the win!), before finally travelling to L1 Colchester. For the 3rd (or 4th?) Straight year we had a League One team to face, and we once again put up a tenacious fight, with Watson scoring a brace in a 3-2 loss. It was a tough loss, as it looked like we would once again force a home replay, but a late stoppage time goal put paid to that, and we went out in a winnable match. Parker (DL) ended up potentially costing us the win, picking up his 2nd yellow early in the second half, when the score was still 1-1. Regardless, it was a quick 3 and out for us, and time to concentrate on the League.

Additional Details

Team of the Season Watson, of course, led the charge this year.

Best XI Inductees -- Two new players, DM/MC Turl and MC/FK Specialist Thorton newly added.

Historical Best XI

Fans Player of the Season: I'm not sure, but I do believe this is Watson's first Fans' player of the Year in his 6 year history..despite his other achievements! He ran away with the award with more than 2/3 of the vote!

Watson eclipsed his own single-season goal scoring record, netting 38 times. He went over 100 league goals around mid-season. He also has overtaken van Engel as the club's leading goalscorer -- that despite van Engel scoring another 20 league goals this season. The tandem threat of Watson and van Engel has really propelled the team foward! A third record for Watson -- most team Player of Match awards. How he did not run away with the Vanarama Conference Player of the Year is beyond me!

Top Academy Graduate

S1: Robin Watson looks to be someone who will be useful in the coming years. Already potential starter material, the coaches figure that he could be useful late into our Varana Conference campaign.

S2: Arran Harding should excite fans for years to come, and he will make an excellent target man. I need to work on his pace a bit to get him ready for real action, but hope to feature him in a season or two!

S3: Robb Lynn --- possibly useful in a year or two. Will have to see if he develops enough...only has Vanarama North potential, and hopefully will be beyond that level soon!

S4: Lee Bolton -- real possibility of using him in the next season or two....my 2nd w/ good conference potential or better

S5: Colin Kean -- injury prone and slow...we'll have to see what we can make of him!

S6: Scott Dunford--pretty average looking, we'll have to see if he develops at all

What's Next?

What's next? League footy! We've escaped the Conference --- it took 6 seasons, but we're out. Now...to stay out! Definite need of some strengthening...still looking for L2 quality fullbacks, and maybe a DM. I'm solid up front, although I will be looking for a replacement for van Engel in short order, as he is starting to show signs of aging. Nothing terribly impressive coming through the academy, although there are one or two to keep my eyes on, so it will be left to my scouts to find replacements. I'll likely try for a rotational or youth DC as well to provide depth in that area. Still, the pressing need is left fullback, and I will need to get someone in that capacity. I think I have enough to survive, but I certainly am not ready to push to League One---so I will call the coming year the year of consolidation. Here's hoping we're as good as I think we are!

I do not get this team/FM (Not sure which). Change tactics because we keep leaking goals. Go 5 games without conceding. Suddenly, the tactic is apparently broken by other teams, and we start leaking goals again.

Second thing. Three games in a row vs. 2nd placed Torquay, 1st placed Dag and Red, 5th placed Macclesfield result in wins of 4-1, 3-0 and 4-1. Next game: 0-0 at hopeless Altrincham with 9 points from 24 games. I do not get this.

All in all it has lead me to a point, where I am very close to a sack.

Marine 2019-20 (Season 5)

"The Art of Defence"

League - 1st CHAMPIONS

FA Cup - 1st Round

FA Trophy - 1st Round

After the Playoff defeat last time round we had our eyes on promotion. The board helpfully requested I win the league and I actually thought we could do it. However 6 games in with 3 wins, draws and a defeat to our name saw a mutiny in the ranks. Maguire and Tomori amongst others, came to me and said we were under performing. After 6 games i thought it was a bit harsh and told them that they should shoulder some of the blame. They didn't take it that well and refused to speak to me! Whoops! However 3 wins sent us up to 3rd and all of them said their issues had been resolved. Top plebs. A fab run for pretty much the rest of the season apart from a minor blip in Feb when we drew 4 out of 5 games, we were pretty much unbeatable in the league and only lost 5 in the league all season. Disappointing cup exits to Sutton Utd in the FA cup 1st round in a very winnable game cost us some valuable prize money. On to next season survival is the priority.

Key players

Chris Maguire - Another experienced winger to replace Hoskins (who has since moved upstairs to be Head of Youth). Good set pieces and goal return was crucial to our success.

Fiyako Tomori - Super athletic centre back had a wonderful season. A crucial part of the best defence in the league.

Axel Tuanzebe - Tomori's partner in crime at the back. Class act and the 11 goals they provided (often from a Maguire set piece) were invaluable in the closer games

Connor Hunt - 19 clean sheets! (Brap!). Ace lad!

Madger - Signed on a free from Liverpool. Far too good for this level but I haven't really got the best out of him and he still bossed games in midfield.

I'm hopeful that all can make the step up to the Conference National.

"The Art of Defence 2 - The Defendening"

League - 1st CHAMPIONS

FA Cup - 1st Round

FA Trophy - Semi Final

After initially planning on surviving and maybe a cheeky cup run my board ruined it by demanding a playoff place! 1 point from the opening two games scared me a little bit but a 14 game unbeaten run in the league got me into the playoff race. A brief sojourn in the FA cup drew us against Wigan in the 1st round. Paul Ince was a little mean about our chances so the draw at home against them to take them to a replay was magnificent. The financial rewards were very helpful as well. Our league run dragged us top at the mid point and we held top spot for a while but our traditional Feb disintegration happened again and let Dover back into to race. I thought we had blown our chance to win the league but Dover imploded over the last 6 games and we won 5 to win back to back promotions and titles! All the more impressive is that it was essentially the same side as last year. Can we handle the next step up on a minimal wage increase?

Key players

Chris Maguire - Same as last year set pieces and goals to help us out of tricky spots

Mark Holloway - Top scoring centre forward with 24 league goals. Got him on loan again next year

Fiyako Tomori - Another top season from our club captain

Nathan Westwood - Part of last years defence but kicked on this year and was a good overlapping threat.

James Yates - Almost identical to Westwood but on the right.

Axel Tuanzebe - A great season for the centre back (but no goals) who is attracting interest from higher up the football pyramid.

Connor Hunt - Another good season for the stopper. 15 clean sheets in the league and great performance against Wigan in the cup

The lack of Wage budget means I will again have to rely on these players again to make another step up

Hereford United - Conference National - Mooing on up

Final position: 5th

League Table.

A true up and down season. We played brilliantly at times, and then fell apart 3 days later. Winning against top teams but struggling against the worst teams in the division. I feared for my job at times. But we secured a playoff place on the last matchday, and we took the opportunity. We are in League 2!

We also had a run in the FA trophy and reached the final. Symptomatic to our season we were clear favorites against Conference South team Ebbsfleet and we dominated the match but lost on a goal in the 93rd minute.

Transfers.

Several loans in. Several rubbish players out. We have managed to permanently sign George Cooper who lead the team in assists this season.

Squad.

We started out in one formation and finished in a flat 442, which seemed to work for us. My players performed okay, but strengthening is needed for League 2. We have a lot of players of League 2 standard but not enough to withstand 46 games.

Jamar Loza was again our top scorer. 36 goals in 48 league games is more than reasonable.

Curtis Nelson was our key signing. Joining from Bradford on a free transfer he stabilized our defense and in the end helped us on our way. I can't underline his importance enough.

Had to ditch the attractive football for direct football for the 2nd half of the season due to our poor pitch which was terrible but bringing Higdon in as a targetman worked a treat.

League cup saw an early elimination to Birmingham 1-0. The JPT saw an early elimination to Swindon on pens after a 2-2 draw.

We defeated Nuneaton 1-0, then Drew 0-0 and won 1-0 vs L1 Notts County before losing 4-1 v Blackburn in round 3 of the fa cup.

Transfers for summer of 2019.

Dulwich Hamlet - Sky Bet Championship - 2025/26

League - clearly these fools didn't know who we are and we stormed the league, winning it with seven (!) matches left.

FA Cup - one of the very few slips we had this season.

Capital One Cup - we eliminated two Premier League teams so I can't not be happy with our run.

Squad - a very strong squad. Also I'm proud to have reached the top league without an influx of foreign players.

Transfers - not much activity, but the players in added a lot.

Finances - stable, we should get a good boost this summer.

Evertonblokes Bognor Regis Season 25/26

Last time on Evertonblokes Bognor Regis......

Having been relegated, threatened with my job, and facing a dressing room revolt, things were not looking good for our hero!

Just before the end of the season the wage budget was cut due to the poor finances, the relegation saw them cut further, and shortly into the season they were cut again. The net result was I needed to get from £7,300 down to £3,600. This was achieved in about February simply by letting anyone go who wanted to, and not signing a signed player.

Even with the wages steadily dropping through the season we were still losing money hand over fist, currently we are £1,130,000 in debt, and I believe facing administration at any time, its something I have felt could happen at any time this season too. Any ideas on getting some money in would be greatly appreciated, obviously selling players isn't going to raise anything.

At the start of the season we had a grand total of 15 squad players, this was supplemented by 4 loanees, one of which was immense and I am desperately hoping I can get him back next season, either on loan, or sign him on a free when his contract expires at Brighton. I wont be making any moves in the transfer window until his situation is resolved one way or another!

Of those 15 players 11 of them were unhappy about the relegation, and there was nothing I could do about it, we played the whole first half of the season with most players on the pitch having a massive strop! This did not affect results though.

The league went amazingly well, after 21 games we had 52 points and was clear at the top, that's on course for breaking the all time record for points in a season, which is currently 103. The second half of the season continued with great form and I started to think I was going to not only post about getting promoted, but also smashing the record.

Sadly the small squad started to suffer. At the height of our powers we were 15 points clear of second spot, but at the end of Feb decided to see if we could throw it away, Farnborough started clawing it back and with 2 games to go we were only 4 points clear and in awful form.

We won the penultimate game to take the title though, My greatest achievement in FM15 so far, while Farnborough lost their game, we both lost our last games to leave me 7 points clear, something I would have taken all day long at the beginning of the season, but still quite hard to take after the great form up until end of Feb.

I've managed to tie the current players to contracts to the end of next season, but theres still 2 I couldn't get, one of them is a key player for my plan, I just hope they hang about on non-contract terms.

Next season is going to be tougher than the last time in the conf prem, but I think I have got my tactics working well and with the lack of signings theres less chance of a massive collapse.

Canvey Island - Barclays Premier League - 2029/30

We had become the dominant force domestically, but Europe was proving more of a challenge.

League Table - it was a comfortable win. QPR lost out due to FFP after their tycoon withdrew his funding.

Community Shield - completely one sided.

Capital One Cup - Brighton shocked us, but we came back to win the cup.

FA Cup - we dominated every match we played.

UEFA Champions League - we had a couple of shocks in the group stage, but hit form in the knockout rounds.

Transfers - a huge profit was made as older players were sold in favour of younger signings.

Squad - we are a right winger short of a brilliant squad.

Finances - a decent profit, I just wish we could spend it on a new stadium.

Key Player Profiles:

Park Min-Ho - top scorer again.

Iván Gorostidi - the new striker impressed.

Didier Kouakou - probably our best player.

John Victor - another brilliant season.

Nilson - originally signed as backup, but he's a first choice now.

Next Season

We have another chance to win the lot next season, with a couple of new signings I think it might be possible.

FC United – Championship 2020/21 – Season 6

(This season took awhile to get through, mainly because I got distracted skinning...)

So after four straight promotions could we make it five in a row and reach the promised land of the Premier League in record time? Well the board weren't optimistic as they expected us to go straight back down, the bookies didn't give us much of a chance either whilst the media predicted we'd finish rock bottom.

Reputation - Our reputation leaps upto 2.5 stars and surprisingly is higher than Swindon, Millwall and Wolves.

Transfers - We money to spend and the newly obtained ability to scout Europe I went about rebuilding my squad, bringing in some cheap and hopefully promising youngsters some freebies and smashing my transfer record several times, the first buy was Scottish Midfielder Ramsey for a record £73K, that was soon blown out of the water by the £185K I paid for highly rated young Serbian Full-Back Milikic before a new record of £240K was set signing another full-back Webb from Swindon.

Saleswise I pretty much sold off all of the players who got me this far bar keeper Henderson as they just weren't good enough for this level and were unhappy being backup players, with Striker Croskery leaving for an impressive club record £850K which pretty much covered my purchases for the season, the only player I couldn't get rid of was defender Holmes who kept on moaning about wanting out but rejected every offer that came his way and then accused me of breaking my promise to sell him when there isn't much I can do if you won't accept the contract offer from anyone else?

League Cup - A decent run this season as we pushed aside League One Doncaster in the First Round then beat Premiership Burnley in the Second Round to make it to the Third Round for the first time where we faced the short trip across Manchester to face rivals Man City, and with me not holding out much hope sent a weakened side who were easily beaten by a City side inspired by a 34 year old Aguero, the only thing that kept the score down was my Keeper Henderson who did his best to make up for gifting City their first goal, on the plus side we earned £500K from the tie that took us out of the red for a while.

FA Cup - The less said about this the better, we needed two late goals to knock out struggling League One side Hartlepool before suffering an embrassing defeat in the Fourth Round to non-league Stockport :( - that match pretty much summed up how our season was going at the moment we were toothless in attack and then gifted Stockport two goals, though looking back Stockport seem to be a fairly strong side they are paying players more than I am and walked the Conference beating our record points total of 106 and scoring over 100 goals and they haven't even had a tycoon takeover so not sure where all their money has come from?

Championship - We had a solid if frustrating season as we survived agains the odds and somehow managed to obtain a positive goal difference despite finishing 17th.

We started the season strongly, before nose diving, but four straight wins in February pulled us away from the relegation fight and then it was just a case of waiting for us to be mathematically safe, though we didn't end the season well failing to win one of our last seven games losing five of them, but by then we were safe and I was giving youngsters a run out.

Surprisingly we were never truly outmatched, only six of our 17 defeats were by two goals with the other 11 all being by just the one goal, we failed to score in nine goals whilst also keeping nine clean sheets (with five of them being 0-0 draws), the main problem we had was scoring the goals to make up for our defensive failings - in 16 games we only scored once and that only got us eight draws and zero wins - in games where we struggled to score we were normaly then undo by a defensive error at the back, but in games where we scored twice or more we won 13 times, drew three times and lost four.

Though the league itself is suprisngly close if we had a little bit more quality, luck or a better run of form we could have claimed an unlikely playoff spot.

And looking at the stats we around the other teams - 10% of shots generaly result in goals, with ~40% of shots on target, the problem we had was keeping clean sheets we had the second worst rate in the league.

Squad and Overview

Dean Henderson continued in Goal and put in some excellent performances though for the most part the best he could do was to keep the score down, he also become the player with the most League Appearances for the club beating the record of 146 appearances set by Louis Rowley and is currently on 162.

At Right-Back was record signing Joshua Webb though he didn't have a great season and lost his place in the second half of the season to Michee Efete who was loaned in from new Parent Team Norwich and added some much needed quality to my defence, providing cover was my highly rated Serbian Denis Milikic who became the first player I owned to pick up the Promising tag (though he'd lost it for some reason by the time I'd taken the screenshot) and whilst a bit raw put in some decent performances but isn't really ready to be a starter yet.

Down the Left was another loanee Sean Kavanagh though he didn't have the best of seasons but did take a mean free-kick, other options were limited though with Young Finn Seppo Venhanen providing cover.

In the Centre of Defence was Belgian Dries Wouters who was snapped up after being released by Genk and had a solid debut season and was suprisingly named in the Championship Team of the Year, partnering him was loanee Max Bell who had another solid season, whilst cover was provided by Swedish Loanee Erik Jonsson who didn't really impress, the only other option I had was another young Fin Topias Priha who was given a run out at the end of the season and held his own.

On the Right Wing I reloaned Robert Terrace who did well but couldn't recreate his excellent form of last season, with competition provided by highly rated Portuguese Winger Bruno Costa who arrived on a free after being released by Porto and this is about the only position I have any real competition at.

Down the Left was highly rated Italian Zakaria Hamadi who'd been released by AC Milan but just never really got going and lost his place to Kieron Morris who had a solid season despite not really being good enough for this level.

In the Centre of Midfield I snapped up another Belgian Thibault De Jaeghere who'd been released by Brugge and he brought some real quality to my midfield, finding someone to partner him was a little bit of a problem Scot Darren Ramsay was the best of my options though he did go missing in several games, another option was another Belgian Yenti Meyssen who'd been released by the other Brugge but he struggled to get going, as did Rodney Kongolo who'd been snapped up on a free after Man City released him.

Upfront I brought in Montenegrin Striker Oliver Sarkic on a free from Benfica to try and add some quality upfront and he did well when called upon as my Support Striker but an early season injury cost him his place as with a lack of options I went looking for a new Striker and brought in two quality Strikers (on paper at least); Portuguese Striker Rui Pedro who arrived after being released by Porto and German Marc Brasnic who'd been released by Leverkusen however they both struggled to get going they'd either play well and score or really badly and miss everything and I never had any idea which of them would turn up, though hopefully they'll kick on next season.

Best XI - Somewhat messed up as both Efete and De Jaeghere only make the bench?

Fans Player - Wouters just about beats out Keeper Henderson.

Academy - We finally produced a quality player, the only problem is he appeared at League One West Brom :(

Elections - It was election season and Andy Walsh won yet again though instead of leaving me alone this year he decided to put us further in debt :( - We had two loans running from the stadium expansions with £640K left to pay until 28/30 costing us £33K in interest over the term and being paid back at a rate of £6.3K p/m, he converted these into one loan of £800K costing us £7K p/m until 2030 with an interest charge of £40K, he did this all to pump in a rather useless £66K into the club.

Finances - Looking better and this is before the £2.5m we get from the Premier League. The board finally also got around to upgrading our Youth Category to Level 3.

We also got some nice/bad news with both Blackburn and Watford failing the Financial Fair Play Rules which apparently resulted in us being awarded an extra £1m though we don't appear to have actually received it? It also seems rather pointless Watford must have been fined at least £16m for us to be awarded £830K (assuming it's spread evenly around the other sides) though thanks to that they got promoted and will earn more than that in the Premier League so it seems rather pointless, not that we have the resources to overspend by that amount anyway.

Shirtsales - We finally sell enough shirts to be worth a news item with my new strikers proving popular enough to near enough cover one of their wages for the season.

Manager Profile - I finally bagged the National B License though my Attributes didn't really raise that much.

Goals for next season

- Survive again.

- Try and sign some better Defenders, could do with another option upfront, a better defensive minded midfielder and whilst I'm wishing a qaulity Left Winger.
