Just to clarify, AI improving squad building is not a feature. It's something that we do every version as we're always looking to improve it. The transfer market and how it works always undergoes work 'under the hood' so to speak. Given the importance now being given to player roles and as Miles said, how the AI now uses roles more effectively then this is something they'll be looking at in terms of squad building.

Also FMC is definitely still in the game, don't worry! And Movember is something of course for charity. It is something some players do in real life, so if we can have it in game and also raise publicity for such an amazing cause then why wouldn't we want to do it?

Also bear in mind there's multiple coders that work on FM who specialise in different area. If a coder has say designed an ambulance for the match environment, that has not taken resources away from programming say the Editor for example.

Well that's a bit better (why no mention of it in the preview?). Any word if the "not going to sign any free player" thing (that plagued italian's leagues) was fixed this time around? Because it's painful enough to have it in FM14...

I thought the new features video was great. Thoroughly looking forward to the changes, apart from the new UI. I hope the sidebar can be disabled or someone releases a skin without it. I found everything great in FM14 navigation and UI wise.

Think it looks very impressive. Big improvements.

I love having to decide between track suit or suit kinda manager. I love being able to shout at players during games now. I'm not too bothered about the ME, cos this ain't FIFA..

I love moustaches.

I hope they have changed the press conferences though, these have always got a way of becoming repetitive after a while. I like having more options when being able to talk to players, however again, I found in older versions.. If for example you tell a player he's leaving, he comes and says he is annoyed and feels he can't work with me again, and I am like well, yeah... There's the door?

But really looking forward to the game, went and pre ordered straight away.

The stats you give your manager that differentiate between being a Tracksuit Manager or the Tactician Manager ( or whatever the other one was ), are they cosmetic or do they actually matter? like, if you gave yourself Judging Young Players 20, could you use yourself as a scout? or if you gave yourself Attacking Coaching 20 could you use that in training?

Yes, at the end of the video (25:33) Miles said Tracksuit managers will be able to take training categories. Didn't say anything about scouting, but that would be good in the lower leagues for sure.

The video was a big disappointment. 10 minutes out of 27 speaking of 3D. I don't care about 3D Graphics like many other fans of the series, i still play with 2D Graphics. Also in the documentary you showed the game with 2D!!!!! This is a managerial game and we now have new stadiums graphics in 3D! Wow what a selling-feature!. Not a word about new Editor features (because you haven't refreshed this section aren't you?). I want to know if i can finally create as accurate as i can the leagues you don't include in the game at the start. I want to know if i'll be capable of using the Advanced Editor once for all. But now we have more and more press conferences! Hallelujah!!!!! What an improvement to the game! Not a word about competitions (you showed when selecting a team that English Regional Premiers are start available so i want to know how many and which leagues are available). The only great news was the scout revamping system but why i should buy this game that i've buyed since 2003? I'm frustrated. Let us know something on the topic i've pointed.

that is, many small improvements. more than anything else just graphically.

the basic structure of FM14 was maintained almost completely.

at this point it seems as if they have worked a lot on ME, this aspect could make the difference.

To summarize my opinion of the video:

1. UI seems good. I personally haven't found the UI bad in any of the earlier version though.

2. Tracksuit manager is a big, big plus. But then again it is a minor aspect.

3. The player responses and movements are markedly better. Although the player graphics are still choppy to say the least. The stadiums, weather and grass are quite appealing.

4. Player Roles- This is a yearly update. Not too fussed.

5. Player Preferred Moves- This is a minor update and can't be called game defining.

6. Scouting- A major improvement in the direction of reality if implemented right. Kudos!

7. Player Search- Minor feature (atleast for me, can't speak for others obviously).

8. Player Interaction- A neat touch (forming allies and concept of dressing room) but can prove disastrous if implemented like the present state of team meetings.

9. Press Conferences- If the general opinion of the FM users is to turn off conferences, why would you spend even more time developing this?

10. Manager profile- Cosmetic improvement. Need I say more?

11. Job Interviews- A good feature that should have been implemented earlier.

12. Training- A nice touch although pressing concerns have seemingly been left unaddressed.

13. Movember- At this point, y'all were clearly desperate to show new features, weren't you?

14. Finances- A handy improvement.

Overall, the new features are underwhelming to say the least.

Are we talking about November in the game or November in real time? If it's the former then it's a pointless gimmik having your players grow muzzies while you're playing FM15 in February. On the other hand if, whatever the month in your game, your players sprout muzzies because it is November in your world and it prompts you to do something for charity, I can see the benefit. But then for some gamers they could have players with perma-muzzies for 3 or 4 seasons, which detracts from gameplay realism.

All FM games live and die by the quality of the Match Engine.

If they've got this right from the get go everything else fades into the background.

If however, on release you can score 40 goals a season from a short corner you'll be left wondering what they've been doing all year.

I am a little concerned that after being told for the last 3 years that the match engine will be sorted next year and then the next year and then the ... I think you catch my drift.

Miles announced that they are now undertaking a revamp of the match engine and its going to be a 3 year project.

I can deal with imperfections in the engine, what I object to is being spun a line year after year only to find out later that it was just a mod spin to keep people quiet.

I respect honesty.

Nobody who matters have ever said this, in fact what people like PaulC (the ME lead) say is that it will always be a work in progress and they say that for obvious reasons.

The main thing to hope for is that it has no major glitches and improves on the last one, I'm afraid with things like the ME beauty is often in the eye of the beholder :)

Sad to see that still cant decide if we played in a specific club or not when making your manager :(, for example. When making your manager and choose a club as your favourite, you should also be able to choose that you played for that club aswell. Or maybe a other club :C

Just watched the features video on youtube.

New UI looks neat. New player roles are always good. I'm a tad weary about the additions/changes to interaction between the player and the AI. It's nice in theory but could really become a pain if the AI (players, the board, the media etc) reacts nonsensically (well....at least more so than their real life counterparts). I think having the player search feature being tied to scouting is a good thing. Manager attributes also sounds like a nice addition.

At the beginning of the video, he said that there was just far too much to show and that they'd be leaving many features for us to discover ourselves. Now that just leads me to wonder what they've decided to show us in the coming days/weeks and wonder what features/aspects of the game have they decided to let us discover on our own upon release.

All in all, I think right now all I can do is just wait and see. I haven't had the best time with FM14 but I'm trying to be optimistic about the new game. No point in me doing otherwise as the money's already been spent and the game has already been pre-ordered (not my money though. I have generous mates).

Honestly, I don't think I'll be playing this game until after the final update. So I guess I still have quite a lot of time with FM14 left then. Not entirely sure if that's a good or bad thing at this point :D

Oh yes. There is no cause more amazing than getting hipsters to raise awareness to how awesome and caring they are without in any way contributing to anything noteworthy.

I am gonna transferlist any player who decides to join the hype. Even if it is regen-ronaldo.

Overall i quite like what they are trying to do, assuming the 'dancing on ice' player animations will not make it to the released game. (even if they do i'll just go 2d).

My only concern is more press conferences & media interaction, i'm sure most players consider this a 'chore'. The first thing I do on any save is set my ass man to handle press conferences but i'm concerned that if he says something daft it will effect my teams performance.

Managing team morale was key in FM14 and it looks like there are more options for players to get moody in FM15, i don't want spend half the game sorting out sulking players.

If i think there is to much 'fluff' i might go down the classic route for the first time.

Just spent 20 minutes screening through some second hand feature information, criticism and ridiculous mod appraisal, but could it be that there is basically no official information on this website about FM15 even though it's supposed to be out in less than a month????

SI, if I want information on FM, I come here to get it. I neither want nor will let me send elsewhere, just because you made some dodgy deal with some unheard-of-before third party website. If you want me to buy your game, you will have to come to me - and I'm not talking about the spam you are emailing me already. I will not come any further than going here.

The best thing I like about FM15 is the default skin and overall user interface. All I care about is tactics and training, the rest don't matter to me. I'm not happy about the fact that I will have to waste more time with interviews and such. I wonder if there are any changes to FMC mode, particularly if it includes all I need in terms of the things that interest/attract me to the game the most (tactics and training). Another thing I'm not happy about is the fact that I didn't see if we are able to select the Inside Forward role for M R/L position (it looks like we aren't). In addition, would the Regista role be available for MC position? On the other hand, 3 of the 4 new roles are playmaking roles.....interesting.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, I will give it a chance.

There is no real feature that stands out for me, I like the nice little touches (choosing your own spoken languages, scouting, enhanced stadiums).

But I expected a lot (maybe too much) after seeing the motion capture in the documentary, the representation of the ME seems like they took a step sideways (maybe it will pay off in the long haul)?

The most important improvements for me can only be evaluated after playing the beta and beyond.

- AI squad building

- The editor

- Seeing your tactics correctly expressed in the game

- Tech optimizations (the game is still a 32bit application)

- More late bloomers in player development

- International management

I'm just hoping it wasn't seen as a "major" improvement and thus wasn't announced

Thinking back to the recent releases the ME generally looks better on release than the WIP screens/vids. Hopefully this is the case here as it looked a little rough around the edges.

Paused the video to get a closer look at tactic screens/role selection when he scrolls through them. There are NO IF for MR/L positions. Also no Regista for MC. Guess the new 'roaming playmaker' will make up for that, but so far impossible to say what will separate a roaming playmaker from an 'ordinary' AP or DLP in MC strata or from Regista/DLP in DMC strata???

How do you make out that 3 out of 4 new roles are playmakers? If you're thinking about that german thingie "Raumsomething", this is not a playmaking role IRL. It's sort of a SS, only from the wings. Think André Schürrle here... positioned on the flanks, but wandering about to create space or stampeding across the field to suddenly cut deep behind DC's. A roaming IF is perhaps a better description? But definately not a playmaker role. He's supposed to be at the end of a through ball, not delivering it :)

Anyone else noticed the new pressing options in player instructions?

At the 5:47 mark in the video, there's now "Close down much more" as well as "Close down more". Also "less" and "much less"... guess something HAS been done with the infamous pressing options :)

Also from 8:56 to 9:05-ish you see that fluidity is now called "Team shape", and two new terms are in play: "Flexible" and "Structured". Surely just a cosmetic label change, but still...

Biggest concern for me is finances.... I appreciate that they have to implement the new rules etc and that most clubs will want to adhere to this, however what if I want to go balls deep and just ignore FFP and gamble... sort of like QPR?

Can I do that? Will Tycoons still take on Football League clubs and just be motivated for the Premier League allowing you to just spend and forget the consequences till later? Im not saying it should be part of every game or save, but having that as an option needs to still be in there, as clubs will do it (rarely I agree).

In this years and games gone by ive been able to spend a club to the brink of extinction and thats part of the fun for me, diverting huge transfer fees over 48 months to stretch the budget... ive spent over 1bn in a season before, just by doing this, backdating all the fees over 4 years and stretching the budget as far as I could.

I hope that is still possible in the game.

Oh and no improvement also for regens and international management.

It's a simple fact of life that with some elements of FM it is very hard to come up with stuff that can be included in a video preview of the game. Hence the note at the start that the video does not cover all new features/improvements.

Especially with the newgen system, the progress over the years isn't made with big "media-sexy" one-off features but rather small incremental improvements and finetuning over the years. Even when we make bigger changes, such as implemeting role-based player templates to be used as basis for sets of player attributes, they are mostly done under the hood with very little immediate visual impact on the user experience.

So you will rarely see major announcements about things like the newgens in such preview videos. That does not however mean the area is overlooked or not focused on.

Oh great more player and press interaction, the stuff that I hate most about this game. But are the underlying logic problems fixed? Like players getting injured and then being unhappy about not being given the promised playing time? Or anything else but league games not counting towards promised game time and loads of small stuff like that?

I like the fact that you have a lot more stuff to say from the touchlines that looks like a good feature.

Concerning the new 3D game animations they still look a bit strange but like Miles said I think they are just the foundation for what's going to change in the next couple of years in regards to the 3D game.

The new interface looks alright but it will probably take a bit of time to get used to it.

I'm a bit sad though that there seem to be no changes to player training this year which imo is a missed opportunity. Playing style and training got to have a strong synergy in RL to get your team to play a certain style of football. I really hope to see some movement in that regard over the coming years.

If I need to dig even further by following SI on other social websites or go looking for them, then the information will reach fewer people than it would otherwise. Not sure if that is what SI want.

In addition to that, and hence the venting tone of my earlier post, I do not exactly feel valued as a customer if a company demands me to come after it in order to enjoy the privilege of being informed about their most recent product. I'd much prefer being approached in a way like 'look, you have this incredibly cool FM14 on your laptop, we appreciate that. it's just that we have created this even better FM15. here, have a look at it and at what we improved even further'. Personally.... I love it. The new scouting method/UI is the dogs proverbial, the motion capture may not be FIFA level but it's still chuffing good, the ability to determine what type of manager you are is outstanding.... My only concern is the media. Now, I set my AssMan to handle it, but if it's not overbearing, and is genuinely fluid, I can see myself utilising it.

Other than improvements to AI squad building, my #1 feature request is an editor for FMC. So far I'm very glad I've preordered FM15, and hope there aren't any stupid bugs (hello first touch) to start us off!

The new sidebar / UI is also great, one click access to all of those areas of the game is something that has been badly needed for a while.

My summary is that it just looks like a good iteration of the game, nothing that you might consider "ground breaking" (at least on the face of it) but providing there aren't any huge bugs that make the actual gameplay experience poor, well worth my investment (which let's be frank, regardless would have happened)

Very very excited as well.

As I'm a developer myself, I know you can't satisfy each and every customer, but hey, it's business as usual and there's always someone moaning.

Personally, I'll wait until the official release (pre-ordered without beta key), because I don't see the point in getting used to a beta version, which is naturally not finished and bugs will appear.

Maybe I'll even wait a bit longer until after the first patch, if my current Heidenheim save on FM14 continues to be good fun, and spend the time watching people go nuts here on the forum about the game being unplayable.

I'm gonna love FM15, that's what I know for sure.

Has an option for international managers to ask a player who has gained nationality through residency to play for their new adopted country?

In a previous save with Rangers I had three Brazilians who weren't capped or called up for Brazil but had Scottish nationality but there was never an option to call them up as they were 'declared for nation'. Is there the scope for the Scotland manager to chat to the player and suggest playing for new nation?

I believe you can do, but not in the UK. Due to the gentleman's agreement: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/internationals/7702704.stm
