Brazil scored a goal? CELEBRATE!

Brazil conceded a goal? DON'T BE SAD!

Lote 42 will give 10% off for every goal conceded by our team in the match!

BRAZIL x GERMANY, TODAY

Someone will have many problems today...

Apparently it's a publishing company

Lots of free books

This shocker aside, Brazil have done well to get this far though. Far from the best squad, so semi final is well done really. Their luck was bound to end at some point.

Honestly never thought I'd see Brazil beaten by one of those scorelines that require brackets with the number spelled out on the SSN ticker.

Didn't Bernard go for like 30m+ last summer too? Oh dear.

25 million, but Shakhtar is owned by a billionaire

Poor from the Brazilian fans booing Fred everytime he touched the ball or was on camera.

That game was unbelievable.

Agreed. Could have easily gone out to chile.

Yeah as much as I'd like our 5-1 win to be the catalyst for this German generation I think Euro 2000 was more then reason

Wow - I've seen a moment in football history tonight and to be honest, I feel sad. I grew up seeing the likes of Zico, Socrates, Falcao- with the likes of Pele, Garrincha and Rivelino before I was born. This current side are a disgrace to that memory. It's a areal watershed moment for Brazilian and world football.

Germans were immense, btw. Play such a simple and yet effective game - pass and move.

ending last in that group and losing 3-0 to Portugal was when they changed things

When we lose, we always need a scapegoat.

Probs up there in terms of a shock since the Magical Magyars turned over England back in the 50's (I imagine)

So how about scapegoating the players that were really responsible, like Luiz and Marcelo?

plus at that stage in world football, Hungary were seen as the best team in the world :D

a bigger shock would have been them losing the 54 World Cup to West Germany

Brazil tonight showed everything that is going on in football. Most of their players play abroad for the money. They are a complete team of individuals as are England.

German football builds from the youth, have few imports and work to budgets.

It's been said many times before but the premiership is probably the worst thing to ever happen to English football. As long as we continue to pay fortunes to import the best in the world the English team will only get worse. I wouldn't be surprised if in 10 years if the English team is mainly made up from Championship players.

Brilliant display by our German team. The first half was absolutely astonishing. Ruthless efficiency in front of the goal + poor positioning, pressing and overall defending = 5:0 at half time. Rest of the game was played well and Germany always looked like they have the ability to score even more goals if demanded.

Klose finally got his record. Fully deserved it. This is going to be a very long night here in Germany. :)

What an insane opening 25 minutes. Brazil fell to pieces but think they approached the game like their biggest chance was gone. The shirt and honouring Neymar like a fallen comrade. Erm, you still got a game to play. It's like they were admitting it's over without him. What's worse is the people saying 'it's a nice touch' ... wtf

Never seen a Brazil ripped to pieces like that or any top tier side really. 179 seconds between 3 of the goals, apparently. I assume that's ball in play time?

Brazil/Argies in 3rd place play off would be awesome

Not really. The effect of that result was seismic in England (because of parochial delusions about their place in the footballing world). Even Brazilians know Brazil are crap currently. Sure, no-one expected such a tonking, but a comprehensive defeat was always considered entirely possible.

Indeed, Brazil had struggled to some extent in all previous games (bar Cameroon), winning the WC was possible with luck, etc.. but Germany were deemed the favorites and many were already a fearing Chile and Colombia before that.
