SRL88
'Good chance this for England'. We are playing Honduras, in a friendly. It would hardly be an achievement to beat them.
JD nawrat
I still find it bizarre we didnt take Barry or Carrick. Also wonder who will take up that role in future. Agreed on both points. Not got a clue really for a future player in that ilk. Nathaniel Chalobah, maybe? Jack Rodwell? George Thorne (WBA youngster)? No obvious choices to take over by Russia... JD nawrat
Get Ox in instead of Sterling (if fit) and you're spot on imo. Hendo's had a good season but Wilshere's just better. Wilshere's never better than Henderson
EnterUsernameHere
Another example of the commentators fawning over a pointless, ineffective move by Lallana.
Chr1s Lawson
Unfortunately in an England shirt everyone looks like a shadow of the player they are for their clubs. I suggest the players the aren't completely useless should start against Italy!
martplfc1
Wilshere's never better than Henderson I hope you're kidding!
Andrew_
Both are pretty average, tbf. Cahill does the same thing and it's just "a ball there to be attacked"
JD nawrat
Lallana's having a terrible game today
fmhero1995
Do you mean in an England shirt or this season? Because Henderson's done far more this season than Wilshere has in every season he's had put together Wilshere's break out season was far more impressive than anything Henderson has done tbh.
jmr
Henderson had a better season but there's no doubt Wilshere is a better player when not injured.
JD nawrat
I hope you're kidding! Don't get any of the fuss made over Wilshere. Seriously. Just an aggressive footballer with little man syndrome. Capable of a great performance now and again but generally speaking nowhere near as good as he's made out to be.
EnterUsernameHere
**** me. Hope Lallana isn't usually as bad as this.
Baptista_8
Is that the same Benson for Honduras who Mike Bassett called up?
Bliss Seeker
Wilshere's just a young Scotty's Parker. WHO SAID THAT!!? *looks behind*
Chr1s Lawson
Wilshere's never better than Henderson I may be a bit biased as an Arsenal fan and admit Wilshere hasn't had a great season, but for England he looks better than Henderson. Better technique and range of passes as well as more tempo dictating as opposed to just running around alot.
themadsheep2001
Barkley is pushing so far forwards that Sturridge and Welbeck are having to drop into the deep space to keep the link. Henderson is hardly running around a lot tbf. He's actually playing a far more reserved role than he would for Liverpool
Baptista_8
****s sake Sturridge

SRL88
One of those games for Sturridge.
dan99
Wilshere is better going forward with the ball, giving quick passes into feet and running on. Henderson is better at keeping possession though.

aiston
Absolutely no point bringing Forster on for 15 minutes against 10 man Honduras.
JD nawrat
Oh **** off....ITV have rights for next 2018 & 2022 World Cup Finals. It'll probably be BBC and ITV for the rest of time. Hope Sky never get their paws on it anyway. And this is coming from someone who pays for Sky (begrudgingly!). Same for BT.

ajw10
Henderson had a better season but there's no doubt Wilshere is a better player when not injured. This. Henderson is in form, but Wilshere is and will be the better player of the two. Sturridge annoys the **** out of me. Love Welbeck though, he's really underrated. Lermon
Knew Honduras might be buggers but hoped they would be against France not England!
aiston
Not like he's got anyone to pass to, is there? Best to keep a hold of the ball, even if passing it back to the defence...instead of just blasting it into the stands.
martplfc1
So, 0-0 v Honduras. Not the best prep is it. We're gonna really struggle v Italy and Uruguay at this rate, regardless of what Townsend says.
JD nawrat
Honduras very organised. Nothing going forwards though and very dirty. Wouldn't be surprised if they failed to get a win in their group and picked up at least one red along the way
Rob1981
"These are the same sort of standard as Costa Rica, so not seen too much to worry us". Er Clive, it is still 0-0.
Readingfanman
Can't see how the hype behind Wilshere and Barkley is justified. Both seem to end up running into unmanageable situations and lose the ball far more often than others.
Andrew_
So, 0-0 v Honduras. Not the best prep is it. We're gonna really struggle v Italy and Uruguay at this rate, regardless of what Townsend says. He may be right in what he's saying but what he's forgetting is that England aren't that good/are probably worse.
Bliss Seeker
We were much better (effective) with Rooney and Gerrard on the pitch. Barkley might be an exciting prospect, but he has no idea what he's doing half the time. People saying be otherwise are just wrong.
deerokus
"These are the same sort of standard as Costa Rica, so not seen too much to worry us". Er Clive, it is still 0-0. This was amazing. Beyond self-parody.
benjaminpeter
I wonder how many times commentators will use the phrase "Wilshere..... Ran into trouble" during the World Cup.

Rebs
So, 0-0 v Honduras. Not the best prep is it. We're gonna really struggle v Italy and Uruguay at this rate, regardless of what Townsend says.Ridiculous heat and humidity, 1 week before the world cup, big disruption halfway through the match, we ould well end up pony next week and the week after...but there's a few reasons there why we might only be a shadow of what we might end up like possibly.
