Notts County career

Recommended Posts

After my MK Dons save crashed I've decided to start a much harder task with Notts County.

First season:

-Quickly add some depth to the side, bring in 3-4 new players.

-Have a consolidating season, mid-table ish.

-Give some youngsters a good chance to develop through first team football.

-Play possession based attractive,attacking football.

Notts County 2-1 Crewe Alexandra

Notts County scorers: Campbell-Ryce 3'. McGregor35'

Crewe scorers: Olivier 21'

Solid performance all round, Callum McGregor was class and looks like he could be a key player for us this season. Only disappointment was that we deserved to win by two or three but a wins a win and good to get off to a positive start.

MOTM: Callum McGregor

Hope you will continue with this!

I have played quite a few Notts Co games. Also signed Derry in the last one. Hollis was excellent for me.

For cup games I will be using a different layout (without the names in bold, just a screen shot of the score, scorers and line-ups.)

Incredible game, went 2-0 in 7 minutes then we were 3-1 down in 18 minutes...great comeback!

Crawley Town 0-1 Notts County

Notts County scorers: McGregor 27'

Another good display, solid defensively. McGregor scored once again and picked up his 2nd MOTM award in 3 games. Finished with 61% of possession which is brilliant considering we were away, onto the next one.

Notts County 2-0 Bristol City

Notts County scorers: Elliot 5', Liddle 56'

Went for a more solid, defensive line-up and it paid off, fantastic win. Special mention for Shaun Derry who added an extra bit of solidity to the side.

Vital win to keep up our perfect start to the season, disappointing that Manny Smith picked up an injury and has been ruled out for 4 weeks.

Wow, a great start! Wish we played like that in real life... :D

By the way, Manny Smith is pretty injury prone, as is Leacock, so you definitely need to have some cover there.

Cheers for the comments guys, pretty incredible start but my main aim is still just to stay clear of the relegation zone, Grealish looks like a real prospect as does McGregor.... what are they like in real life??

Brought in Olofinjana who was a free agent and after one or two games for the u21 side I gave him a start.

Tranmere Rovers 0-1 Notts County

Notts County scorers: Grealish 88'

Incredible win!!!! Our fantastic start continues with a super late win against Tranmere, Callum McGregor comes on in the 84th minute and creates a goal within 5 minutes. With first against second this was always going to be a close game and so it proved.

MOTM: Seyi Olofinjana

The big centre midfielder was terrific on his debut and controlled the game.

Sorry forgot to take a screen shot of the line-ups so here's our line-up...

Bialkowski

Dumbuya, Gibson, Leacock, Sheehan

Liddle, Olofinjana

Campbell-Ryce, McGregor, Grealish

Elliot

Notts County 2-2 Port Vale

Notts County scorers: Eilliot 40', Leacock 53'

Port Vale scorers: Cuvelier 33', Birchall 47'

Decent game, point is what we deserved but it was a shame that our 100% record was ruined, was always going to happen at some stage. Big games vs Swindon next.

Swindon scorers: Williams 60'

Brilliant peformance from Kieron Freeman who came in to replace Alan Sheehan who was suspended. Team looked solid throughout and never looked like chucking away the three points.

Peterborough 2-2 Notts County

Peterborough scorers: Gomes 19', Somma 23'

Notts County scorers:

Campbell-Ryce 3', Elliot 89'

Great start to the match played some beautiful football but then P'boro scored two goals from their first two shots and then Dean Leacock got sent-off in the 29th minute. In the 61st minute Bostwick got sent-off for P'boro to make the tie 10 vs 10. Eilliot then scored another late goal to equalise and earn us a superb point.

MOTM: Stephan Elliot

Elliot only came on in the 73rd minute but he completely changed the game.
