dannyrefc
i have read the fluidity thread and grasp what the information is telling us, i do understand it , and i know some of you will be saying 'well theres already lots of comments on how it isnt really that important' but my question still remains ... is it? it seems alot of effort for me to delve into that side of tactics having just getting used to them? if i was to go about making tactics without using information in that thread would i be at a disadvantage or is that just generally a theory and not all that important to making tactics? basically my question is although it is a very good thread and very useful, would i be hurting my chances of creating something successful if i completely ignored that thread when it came to creating a tactic? thankyou. Negatrev
You might be fine, but to be honest, without reading it, it is easy (if you're unlucky) to miss-interpret what a role or instruction means and end up leaving large gaps in your tactic where players have no passing options and losing the ball can become commonplace. I found it a good read, and it's quicker than watching ten games in a row on full match learning how to tweak your team to fill these gaps by learning it yourself! (unfortunately I'd already done the latter )
vitri0l
I would definitely say read it but its not necessary to follow it to the letter..the advice is sound and using it i have built some very good tactics. That being said i am currently experimenting with a very fluid high pressing strikerless formation that due to me being to lazy and tactically inept i am using 5 specialist roles as i cant be bothered using player instructions to mould the players when the player roles like regista and treq etc give me the style i want. But i wouldnt have tried this current tactic without first having grasped the basics so read every sticky on here and learn how to do things...then you can experiment and make mistakes without as much frustration as you will understand where you are going wrong and hopefully be able to rectify it. THOG
It's not necessary at all. wwfan and llama's threads are essential reading for new players in my opinion, but my thread is more about adjusting things at a very fine and generally unnecessary level of detail. And even then, it should be read as an ongoing experiment and not a definitive set of rules.
