Jordann
Sorry if this is in the wrong thread, don't often start threads! So I've been playing as Inverness in the SPFL and doing well imo. Season one we came 2nd place won the Scottish cup and qualified for the Euro Cup, ending with 73 points, 8 behind Celtic. Season 2, we make it to the group stages, qualify in top position losing one game in a group with Besiktas, Feyenoord and Valencia, then getting knocked out on away goals by Roma. We made it to the Scottish Cup final but lost 1-0 to Celtic and finished 2nd in the league but with only 59 points (blame this on a small squad and European run). So my dilemma, I've been offered the Stoke City job (they've just been relegated, not lost major players yet) but I believe I could get promotion with them. Really stuck as to whether I can improve ICT and give Celtic a good challenge or whether I leave to make the big move down south. Literally saved my game and don't know what to do, so advice would be great. Also I have no goals or plans in my career it's just do the best with who I am. Evilyoshi
Are you enjoying your current club? Thats all it really comes down to imo, in previous versions ive made moves to other clubs that ive later regretted, so as a rule of thumb I only move now if I am activity no longer enjoying being with my current club. Sounds like your doing pretty well with Inverness, keep in mind that while Stoke havnt lost any key players yet, if you joined you would likely have 4-5 players unhappy and wanting to leave as per useal after a relegation. You would have some tought man management on your hands to keep them or let them go. DLTR I would stay, but its up to you as always

DLTR I would stay, but its up to you as always The reason I'm not sure about staying is I dunno if I can progress them much further, with my limited budget and key players wanting to move to bigger clubs, it's difficult to get the same or better quality. Where as a new start with Stoke I feel I have potential to improve them, get promotion and get a decent budget as well, players still want to go to the Championship. Evilyoshi
Then it sounds like you have made up you mind=). Breaking Celtics hold in the SPL is a very hard task because they have much bigger resources and rep then all the other teams. The SPLs league rep as you say isnt very high. Keep in mind though that if you kept being able to get good cup runs, esp runs into the knock-out stages of europa league, that would raise scot-lands rep + co eff, making it easier to attract and keep good players and giving the league more CL/EL spots. Its a difficult and slow process, but it can be done. But if your just after pure success, yes Stoke would be the way to go, their infrastructure dwarfs Inverness and I know they do have some very good players like Shaw cross, although most of them will probabaly leave/have left after relegation. and the richs and glamour if you can get them to the prm (and that is an if) dont really need stateing. JR866Gunner
Stay for at least two years more, or at least let your contract run down and find another challenge. I was successful in keeping Cardiff in the prem in FM13, I made the mistake of giving in to temptation and accepting an off from Southampton. Now I enjoyed my two year with the saints but I was torn and it was a difficult decision but in the start of the third year at southampton having previously got them up to 7th i two succesive years they opted to release me of my duties...gutted... It was at that point I realised I would have been better off staying put at Cardiff and developing a team hopefully pushing up the table. I luckily had a save to fall back on but by that point FM14 was out. This time around having been sacked by Arsenal I am now at Swansea having lifted the FA Cup, Kept Swansea up in the Prem and pushing for mid table to Europa league qualifications (hopefully) I have learnt from my Cardiff (FM13) mistakes and sticking with Swansea. I did however accept an invitation to an interview for Reading who have recenltly got into the prem but nothing came of that (I just wanted to see what the interview process was like) they approached me so I didnt incur the wrath of the Swans board. So in short STAY!
Ryknow
Stay. You should get far better offers in the next 12 months.
Overmars
Well, would you rather live in the Highlands or in England? That's all that really matters here.
BurghBear
I would stay and try to improve the SPFL as a whole. With the increase in rep the money increases also which means you can challenge and achieve a higher level. Also you'll look back and wonder what might have been. CityAndColour
The beauty of FM is you've never taken a club as far as you can, until you're the best in the world.
DizzyPenguin
In this situation I always do what I would in real life, because I like to play with realism. That's just my preferred way of playing and everybody is different. If it was me, I'd attend the interview, see if they offer me the job and if so what salary (how does it compare). If it's stupidly more money, it's a no-brainer. If it's only a bit more money, think about the place. Would you want to live in the Potteries? How would it compare to life north of the border? I once even asked my girlfriend what she'd think of moving from Oslo to Stevenage. I fancied staying in Norway but the money was much better and to be honest her response of "It's bloody cold here, where's the suitcase!!" confirmed it for me. Hmmm maybe I take it too far

Hopefully it all works and improve, also Rangers are now back in the league!
