podunkboy
Awww, 0 assists for Jaya in the WC? That's depressing. For some reason, "the Dozen" didn't produce well at all outside of the first game against Australia and the brace by Vroom. But wins are wins, I guess. On a side note, was the Qatari heat any issue? Although the heat was mentioned in the run-up by the press, most of our games were played in the "high-70's (fahrenheit)" temperatures, and although most of the players were needing rest because they were playing through their summer break, I just rested and rotatated as much as I could. podunkboy
New season, new injuries, McFlynn gets a couple months off... McDonald and MacTavish think life's just fine in Stirling... Champion's Cup season's on again (but I'm not sure where all the screen-shots are from the early campaign, so I'm going to have to go back and re-snag the match results and review them.) Scottish Cup match against Glenafton, despite their coach's faith in the strength of his squad, I'm afraid we over-matched them just a tad. Lewis MacLeod popped off about playing time once too many times (okay, I had to transfer-list him twice), finally sold him to Hearts. The SPL is full of first-team players who didn't want to play for Stirling...we beat them once a week. Gretna's coach got lippy, too, in the Scottish Cup pre-match interview...we had to teach him a lesson, too.

What's the sound of a hamstring tear, Iain...RIIIIIPPPP. another good result in Champions Cup: Hey, Iain, what can you tell Ronald McDonald about recovery time on a hamstring tear? Scottish Cup vs. Raith, not much of a challenge. Valencia knocked out of Champions play by a shocking lack of personal discipline. Hearts knocked out of Scottish Cup contention by a shocking inability to score more goals than us.
podunkboy
Dear, brave Falkirk (whose coach I hate almost as much as Neil Lennon) fall in League Cup play against us. podunkboy
We have the matter of the Champions Cup to address, but I have regretfully noted that somehow the screen caps from beyond the quarter-finals didn't upload, so I shall have to go into the game archives from last year (yeah, I'm halfway through 2023-24 now) and get those uploaded first. podunkboy
Fans vote AJ "Player of the Year" On the upside, we're moving the merchandise - downside, Kinkaid still can't break the top 5 jerseys. podunkboy
McFlynn is the new holder of the league goals scored record for Stirling: Still getting no respect, no respect at all in the Champion's Cup and, I was going to string out the story line, but then thought it best to just rip that band-aid off in one tug: He had been complaining about being back-up to Wallace, and kept dropping by the office to ask for more first-team play (and then not producing at the same level) and even the fans were against him... So, when he demanded to be transfer-listed, I gave him his wish. Don't think he's doing much yet at his new club.

podunkboy
Early 2023-2024 season League Cup results - Josh Crane's showing some skill at the AMC with a hat trick This concerns me - Jaya needs "match experience at a higher level"...what's higher than Scotland? FC Bayern doesn't even concern us anymore, even on their pitch: and oh, yeah, our league unbeaten streak hits 100 games: early round of Champions Cup, and we qualify for knockout round with two games in hand for a while there, right after the World Cup, Scotland was #2 in the world...now, back to 9th... (I assume it's because the national team hasn't played anyone of note lately...) No, I don't know how we got invited to the World Club Championship, but I guess we'll play since they asked nicely. and since we're going to the WCC, Balmont figured this would be a good time for a hamstring tear. podunkboy
Scotland's draw in the European Championships: and of course, England's: not sure who got the better pick of the litters. Salman Zia stopped by to announce his departure, and then change his mind almost immediately. How about a 4-goal comeback in a game we didn't even need to win to advance: Guess they have flares at the World Club Championships in Korea, too. Not much of a Championship, where we come in on the semifinals and only have to play 2 games: that's 185 years combined waiting for a shot at the Championship:
podunkboy
and CF America can wait another year at least: that's a double we've never held before: a good League Cup win for being down 10 men for the last 109 minutes of the game. Champions Cup Knockout round draws us against Stuttgart Oh, by the way, our Super Cup win was against Tottenham back in September, we killed them, thanks to MacTavish's 4 goals. podunkboy
Scotland's Best 11 for 2023 features a few Bino's And...look who's holding down the right wing in the World Team of the Year! at the halfway mark, we're undefeated and holding a 5-game lead on 2nd place Rangers. the coach for the Cumnock Juniors got lippy about their chances, we outshot them 35-0. Ronald McDonald wants extra fries with that 4-year contract extension. League Cup play, the Big Mac Twins take out Dundee Utd.
Chao Yang
Woot, right winger of the year! Also, I doubt Jaya can improve much more, he's already playing at the highest level in Europe with being regular participants in the European Cup and all. Perhaps Stirling needs to push for the European Super League!
G_D_K
Is there anything left for anyone to achieve at this point? That is just about every competition now...100 games undefeated....and probably every record in the book bested!
podunkboy
Is there anything left for anyone to achieve at this point? That is just about every competition now...100 games undefeated....and probably every record in the book bested! Well, Scotland needs a World Cup title, and we still have to get Kinkaid into the top-5 jersey sales. And every year at youth intake time, I scour the new recruits for a lad named "Baker". I am THINKING about playing out the 2024-2025 season, seeing where everything stands, and then perhaps having Baker step down as Stirling's coach and remain as head coach of Scotland. Perhaps that would spur some late development of the Dozen, and then maybe some other team might come calling for Baker's services, because right now they don't even bother trying to hire me away. Chao Yang
Not to mention you'll be allowing the Stirling lads to go around the world for the next 4-5 years, in any league that may come knocking!
podunkboy
Moving on the Scottish Cup, Jaya gets a brace McDonald picks up a Player of the Month 3 months left in the league season, and we're already qualified for the Champions next year one week later, we've won the SPL... McDouglas is so happy, he inks another contract for $3 million/year. MacTavish gets a shiny new hat (trick) against Stuttgart. and then...the SPL undefeated streak ends... Good think we still have our cup wins to keep us warm... ...but MacTavish fractures a few ribs. Wallace snags a brace as we usher Stuttgart from the Champion race on a 5-1 aggregate. podunkboy
Always fun to remove Celtic from the League Cup mix. Champions match us against FCP... 1 game great: 2nd game good enough to hold the fort and see us through.
podunkboy
Another round in the Scottish Cup down, another Jaya PotM. We really shouldn't be beating Real Madrid... even though we lose McFlynn to a broken arm. and in the return trip, we tie them for a 4-2 aggregate on a Jaya goal in injury time. So, we face Tottenham in the Chamapions Cup final. I just never get tired of being the Player's Manager of the Year. Another League Cup final victory, clear a spot on the mantel for it. So...that makes4 trophies this year? but those Ranger's thugs broke McDonald's ribs.

podunkboy
All I can say is .... We lose our winning streak to....Celtic???? I think Kincaid was still thinking back on that match during the penalty shootout! at this point in his career, it might be too late to train him on Penalty proficiency, but every time it goes to PKs I cringe (even though I know we've won more than we've lost in those games.) podunkboy
never get tired of individual awards, right? It is CRIMINAL that despite our history and reputation, Jaya (or any of our players) can't get any notice in the "World Player of the Year" voting. No team is as dangerous with Wallace on the left, Jaya on the right. A Stirling sweep, with the stalwart Kaptain Kincaid as the winner (maybe that'll sell some jerseys) This is our young Portugesan who will one day take over for Balmont (bit of an attitude, he doesn't like to be tutored) And this is Jaya's back-up/protege' now. He LIKES me, he really LIKES me... Hey, look, we're our own All-Star team: Not happy about this one, we'll call it a sh*t sandwich - me in the middle, and turds on either side of me. podunkboy
Oh, yeah, about that Champion's Cup Final: We really shouldn't have won this, we were dragging from fixture congestion, but we held on for 15 minutes of extra time. 3 Dream Teamers on the Champions Cup squad End of season stats (sorted by goals, I believe) World club reputation for Stirling Albion...hey, look down and see the EPL looking up at us!
