[FM14] Brittany as an independent nation

Hello,

I've created* a new country for FM 2014, Brittany. Here are some information about this geographical area : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brittany

Brittany has a very specific culture, and 2 particular languages, Gallo, close to French, and Breton, a Celtic language like Welsh or Irish for example. The Breton state was independent from 845 to 1532.

* in fact, I have substituted East Germany by Brittany.

I've decided to let the players who have already been selected for France (Y. Gourcuff, M. Landreau, J. Toulalan, ...) or other national teams (G. Higuain, ...) in their respective teams to be more realistic. But I've added "Breton" as second nationality. So, at the beginning of the game, the national team is not very good :

In the editor, I've found 102 clubs from Brittany. I've put them into 4 divisions :

- Division 1 called "Breizh Superlig" with 10 teams and 36 matches (like the Swiss championship) :

- Division 2 called "Breizh 2. Lig" with the same system :

- Division 3 called "Breizh Lig Amateur A" with 28 teams divided in 2 groups of 14

- Division 4 called "Breizh Lig Amateur B" with 54 teams divided in 4 groups of 13 or 14 teams.

Moreover, I've added a Cup (Kib Breizh) with all the 102 clubs, and a Supercup (Breizh Superkib). There are also 2 specific championships for reserve and U19 teams.

With this file, it's also possible to play with the French championship :

I've tested the file until 2024 without any crash. Nevertheless, I had small issues including the nation population (0 inhabitants) and the impossibility to create a human coach with the Breton nationality.

I hope some people could be interested here. Any comments or suggestions will be appreciated

Does the Breton national team play the Euros and World Cup, and club sides the Champions/Europa leagues? If so, do they replace someone, or are they in addition to the current nations?

Yes, the Breton team play the Euros and World cups (including qualifications for WC 2014). I have put Kazakhstan in Asia to have the correct number of national teams in Europe. It's the same for the clubs, but there are no Breton clubs in 2013/2014. It begins only in 2014/2015.

Sounds good. How does this affect the Asian qualifiers etc though?

Kazakhstan participate to the Asian World cup qualifiers and to the Asian cup.

Unfortunately, kazakh clubs don't participate to Asian cups. I think it's hardcoded in the game. It's not like in Europe.

I'm creating a new nation in CIS place but continent field is locked and set none for inactive nations such as Ireland, CIS and old Germanys.

You have to go here (the editor must be closed) : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2014 Editor\data\format\database

There is a file called "nation". Open it and find this :

Save the file, and then open the editor : normally, you will able to change or to set the nation's continent.

Which team was substituted for Kazakhstan? Timor-Leste?

For Asia, I didn't make any substitution. I have let all the nations and just added Kazakhstan. I'm not a specialist of Asian rules. I know there is a problem in Europe if the number of national teams changes. But I haven't studied the situation for Asia.

Nice work Monsi, I did the same in FM12 but substituted Luxembourg and left the 'big 5' in France. Might do so again for FM14 as it was fun to make. Your version looks very good.
