The award for Best Challenge goes to...

Dafuge's Small Club to Big Club Challenge with 24 votes out of 36.

It was always going to be an uphill struggle for the other two challenges, regardless of how great they are. Dafuge's challenge has been the centrepoint of the challenge scene since the forum opened, and has had many participants.

The near-misses

These are the challenges that were nominated, but just didn't make the cut.

International challenge

New Dawn in a New Land Challenge

Britain and India Challenge

The award for Hardest Challenge goes to...

Gundo's FM08 Small club from a small nation European adventure challenge with 16 votes out of 35.

This challenge has proved formidable for many of it's participants. Although pushed quite hard at the start, this challenge eventually won the title. A worthy winner of this award, Gundo's challenge is officially the hardest FM challenge of the year.

The award for Most Enjoyable Challenge goes to...

Dafuge's Small Club to Big Club Challenge with 13 votes out of 36.

Quite simply, as close as it could have been. With Wallace vs Roberts getting 12 votes, and The Career thread getting 11. Dafuge's challenge picks up it's second award of the night though, with many of you voting for it as the most enjoyable challenge of the year.

The near-misses

JoseRR's FM08 Small Club to Big Club From a Big European Nation Challenge

The Danny Roberts Challenge : Difficulty GODLIKE (Part 2.)

The award for Most Popular Player goes to...

Paul Wallace with 27 votes out of 35.

Any surprises here? You be the judge. The player that captured the imagination of a generation. Second only to the legendary Danny Roberts in the context of things ;). Congratulations Nep, on this legendary player.

The near-misses

Stian Ringstad

Waide Fairhurst

Thanks guys. I did have a speech prepared, but I feel it'll be better from the heart. I'd firstly like to thank my dad. Without his money, I'd never have been able to afford a laptop and FM08 in the first place. I'd like to thank my Girlfriend, for not breaking up with me over the amount of FM I play, and most importantly, I'd like to thank Gundo - for inventing the challenge that allowed me to win the award.

*Takes a bow*.

You forgot Wallaces parents for conceiving him.

The award for Best Failed Challenge goes to...

The Monthly Challenges with 26 votes out of 35.

Another comfortable one here. A great idea which sadly never took off. Hopefully next year they will be back with a vengeance, with great new ideas and plenty of regular participants.

The near-misses

foxmad's 'Around the World in 80 Days' challenge

San Marino "double" Challenge 2008

The award for Best Sign-up goes to...

The Eurovision Striking Contest - The Battle Begins with 25 votes out of 36.

Taking nothing away from the other two sign-ups, they were brilliant. This sign-up was a cut above the rest though. The regular updates, and great idea behind it made for a sign-up with longeivity and plenty of laughs on the way. A top effort, WW, well played.

The near-misses

The All American Managerial Contest *Where Block Voting is highly encouraged*

Ridleys Premiership Club Sign-up - You're The Main Man

Wallace v Roberts - the striking legends small to big club North v South face-off
