Sampa
Rescaldani or Vietto are animals in this game. I'd go for either Yeah I have Vietto. He's been getting time out on loan. Ended up being able to get Lukaku for £41m so went for him. Hopefully he'll be worth it. Ended up selling Jonny Evans to Chelsea for £20.5m. Brought in Musacchio who has turned into a beast (if I'd known that I would've tried harder to get him when I was one of the clubs in for him when he was going for £15.25m, he went to Bayern) for £29m. Also brought in Doria who hasn't improved that much but he was going for cheap at £16m and Papadopoulos since he was going cheap too, for £4.7m. scott MUFC
love papadopoulous, not signed him though due to having enough players there. rastaman219
Anyone got striker recommendations? Wayne Rooney's been ruined by crazy injuries, I sold RVP first season and now PSG have bid £31m for Vela. Not sure if I should sell because I love him and his game but I really need goals, he gives me more creativity and gets goals too but need an out and out striker. With Mata and Januzaj (and I want to try get James Rodriguez too) I have the creativity.Anyone had experience with Jackson Martinez? Is he worth £34m when he's 29 turning 30 in the coming season? Also I bought Facundo Ferreyra for £24.5m. Also about to sell Otamendi. Have agreed £23m fee with Real Madrid after buying him for his £12.75m release fee last season. However I need some advice - do I sell Jonny Evans to Chelsea for £20.5m? I have Balanta, Nkoulou and Jones. Will look at getting another CB if I sold him. How many United home grown players you got? Evans fulfills that quota and has been a star for me, especially getting goals at set plays. Martinez is good, but IMO no player that age is worth that much. Usually can get a youngster with at the very least the potential for less than that much.
scott MUFC
I have enough HG players to fill my quota... although I can't name them all. January is TRANSFER TIME!!!! 3m and 3.1 respectively, had to bid on Taj to stop him going to a rival, been following him for a good year so... much..... money...... I turned it down. he has started scoring again assman also drew with Arsenal in the league cup first leg, away, not overly concerned as it was away. Barely played any of them and Musacchio just couldn't perform. Didn't go for Martinez in the end. Bought Lukaku and Ferreyra. The latter was terrible. Lost the prem this time to Chelsea. After beating them to it last season. Lost to them in the Champs League last season and beat them this season. Giving each other a turn.
rastaman219
Finished the first season winning every trophy I could, including an extra time Giggs winner in the FA cup then a Janujaz winner the week later vs Juve. Squad was De Gae Rafael Evans Jones Evra Carrick Fellaini Rooney Mata Janujaz RvP Notable sub's included Will Hughes, Nat Clyne, Giggs and Fletcher. Played Carrick and Fellaini in DM positions as DLP and Anchorman respectively. 3 AMs so not wide, Janujaz as an AP, Rooney AM and Mata Treq. Got my width from the wing backs and goals and assists galore from the front 4. Defense was solid, only let in 21 league goals. Looking to flog Young and Nani plus use whatever cash the board give me to try sign Shaw, a few wingers and maybe George Throne or another defensive midfielder. Pushing Powell and Zaha into the first team and maybe that Chilean striker depending on how I feel with RvP and Welbeck. Definitely aiming to have a strong young British core based around Powell, Zaha, Hughes, Jones, Clyne plus Janujaz. Keeping Smalling as a squad player too. scott MUFC
Sold Pjanic, he wasn't getting much game time because of players like Ramsey, and I needed the funds for a long term target who was listed. wish clubs would stop throwing money at me for my key players. O.o where fave A.C got this sort of cash and in other news, ADNAN IS BACK!!!! as is Rafeal...who I keep turning down £41m bids for adnan back after a few months out with a broken ankle, he decided to prove his foot still works by destroying Arsenal dunno what is with this mexican, but he scores like Paul scholes finally bought him, £21.5m it cost... been after him since day 1. nick101
Hi all, Long time reader but shamefully this is my first post! Desperate times call for desperate measures though. 12 games into my second season and it is going... woefully badly. First season I won the league with a game to go (halfway mark was 14 points ahead, had only conceded 9 goals, but it unravelled very quickly). Put a complete reserve side out against City in the Capital 1 cup 4th round and got spanked 4-0! Beat Liverpool 2-0 away in the FA Cup 5th round and then lost to Tottenahm (who I am yet to beat in 4 matches) at home in the 6th round. Got drawn against Bayern in the Champs League 1/4s and looked on course for an upset until Fellaini got sent off and I lost 3-2 on aggregate. Anyway, managed to win the league (just), and decided I wanted to make a few changes to the squad in the summer. Notable departures: Valencia £5m (at the end of the season after turning down £16m from Arsenal at the beginning of the game- still paying some of his wages) Hernandez £16m (beginning of game) Nani £5m (end of season- still paying some of his wages) Anderson £5m (end of season- still paying some of his wages) Darren Fletcher £2m (end of season- still paying some of his wages) Young (£5m, end of season- still paying some of his wages) Rafael £34m (end of season- thought this was too good to turn down) Kagawa £25m (end of season- starting to think this one was a mistake!) Notable signings: Timo Werner £8m (beginning of game) Dante £8m (January of first season) Balanta £9m (beginning of game) Luke Shaw £28m (beginning of second season) Nathaniel Clyne £16m (beginning of second season) Stanciu £12.25m (beginning of second season) Ryan Gauld £9.5m (beginning of second season) Will Hughes £5m (beginning of second season) Overall I thought I had probably cleared the squad out of some deadwood and given it a much needed kick of youthfulness- this season, however, we have really struggled. Currently sitting 15th after 12 games, we have managed 3 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses. City have won 10 out of 12, and Spurs are 2 points behind them. 9 different members of the squad have come to me for reassurance that we can turn it around- I was also optimistic that we could but I am running out of time and the board's patience is thin. There were rumours in the press that if I had a bad result in my last game then that would be it (I duly went on to lose 1-0 but the axe hasn't fallen... yet). Was wondering if anyone could give advice as to where it went so wrong?! Not sure how I can go from winning the league to fighting relegation so quickly. My current squad is: Gk De Gea DR Clyne DC Dante DC Phil Jones DL Shaw MC Fellaini MC Carrick AMR Januzaj AML Mata (has been out for 2 months, so usually Stanciu takes this position) CF Rooney (been out for 1 month this season, but scores so rarely he is only woth £7m) CF RVP (has been out for 4 months and just returning to fitness, so Werner/Welbeck have deputised but very rarely score) Replacements from: Hughes Balanta Evans Smalling Gauld Welbeck Werner Stanciu Cleverley I seem to have more shots than the opposition in most games- I wouldn't say I'm controlling all matches but certainly have the majority of shots and attempts on target. Like I mentioned- my strikers have really underperformed and miss a lot of good chances. Mata was my top scorer last season playing in an AMC role in front of Carrick, Fellaini and Kagawa, but wanted to use Janazaj as a starter this year and thought they could work well together as a pair of AML/AMR, so have been playing with 2 CMs and 2 CFs. Any criticism/points are very welcome! Thanks

Sam-Williams
Nick101 - I had the same issue. In my second season I had cleared out many of the same players as you have. I hit the lowest point in mid December when I lost 6-0 to City in the league. This took them 14 points clear. Rooney slated my teamtalk and all the players were seeking assurances. I decided to change skipper to Phil jones and make sure I made the team hard to beat. We won a lot of games 1-0 or 2-1. Change your formation to put more men in the middle, you will probably see possession improve. 4-2-4 is way too open and your team is lacking quality in CM. Luckily for me City imploded and lost 3 games on the spin and I then beat them in the home game at the end of the season to scrape the league by a point! We only managed to score 72 goals all season which is awful really. But it goes to show a solid defence and midfield is the most important part of the game. At least that is how i see it. scott MUFC
it is easy, I found that if you went 4-4-2 and set the 2 wideman to wingers, you get the 4-2-4 in all but shape, but it is better when defending.

Sampa
So after my fourth season I received a £140m transfer budget and decided to really go for it. Signed 12 players during the summer for a total sum of £222m. This included major signings in Paul Pogba for £54m and James Rodriguez for £76m. I also sold 12 players for a total of £153m. Fellaini went to Spurs for £18.25m, Kyriakos Papadopoulos to Juve for £10.75m, Sergi Roberto > Inter for £15.5m, M'Vila > Monaco for £15.5m, Mata > PSG for £32m, Zaha > Everton £9.25m, Bony > Chelsea for £26m, Dodo > Arsenal £10m. There I was thinking I was about to absolutely dominate, however, I had a nightmare first half of the season. Ignoring cup wins in the Super Cup, Club World Cup and Capital One Cup; I was struggling hugely in the Premiership and was somewhere around 11th by Christmas with Chelsea just running away with it. That has taught me a lesson about bringing in too many players at once as the game really does punish you. I examined all of my tactics in frustration because of my inept team and made tweaks and changes and drew up some new ones too. The January transfer window seemed to sort of reset the effects, as if incoming movement from the latest transfer window is what affects the team chemistry. Though still, I sold my then best performing striker in Timo Werner to Juve for £40m, and Juan Bernat went to PSG for £33m. I signed 2 future star regens for a total of £99m. So with my tactic changes, including some tweaks that perhaps improved my tactic that had me winning/challenging for the league the past 4 seasons and winning the Champions League in the one just gone, and my increased game time for Zivkovic and Lukaku, I ended up doing very well in the league, making up a lot of the ground on the teams at the top of the table and finished 2nd on just 78 points. Chelsea won with 89. From the 30th December I won 18 games, drew 4 and lost 1 in the league. I lost in the final of the FA Cup to City in a game where a silly goal was conceded from failing to properly clear a corner after Lukaku having had his penalty saved. BUT, I managed to retain the Champions League beating PSG in the final 2-0 thanks to a Zivkovic brace. Zivkovic ended with 34 goals in 50 games. Lukaku finished with 23 goals in 41 games. 19 goals in 25 league appearances.

scott MUFC
I prefer January tbh. and Russian youth intake on my game just churned out three, top class newgens, cost like 3k compensation...... Work permits there is one I am going to sign at some point though just for the name stupid penalty concede, Newcastle were playing flipping OBERTAN up front... Diego costa getting his hat trick in before the team played terrible. won League cup Adnan scores a tap in, a free kick and a penalty thier goals were offside and the penalty was flipping saved by the keeper and STILL went in. , Doria hadn't scored this season either. onwards 2 of the top 4 in the assist table and current league top scorer, and lame ME enduced goal concedes sweet

RTHerringbone
I actually came back to this save, having resigned and taken over at struggling Ajax. Having turned them round, I wanted to get back to the squad I built at Man Utd. First step was the sale of Adnan Januzaj. He was only 28, but the last "real" player I had. He was also blocking the path to the first team of one of my newgens, so he has gone. He was valued at £50m, and that's what Barcelona paid. Our balance tops £1bn, transfer budget is silly and we have huge space in our wage budget. To liven things up tactically, I've moved from a 4-1-4-1 to a sort of 5-3-2; flat 5, Regista, 2 CMs, a DLF and CF. I've now got 3 players who were originally DMs at the back, and I'm using the Defensive mentality after reading Cleon's thread about it.

Zeonflux
Hey all just about to start the 2020/21 season and thought i'd post a few of my regens. Hermosillo is quite frankly a beast, he's just been a rock for me at the back and has replaced Eder Balanta and the chosen CB partner for Phil Jones. He's been with me for 5 seasons and has had an average rating of 7.14 or over for the last 4 years. Butler is a very competent Keeper for his age, mainly playing in Capital One Cup matches and dead rubber games he's progressing nicely and has a 4 1/2 star rating from my coaches with the potential to be a world class GK. Rooney is another player who has just been get for me, he's currently being used in rotation with Verratti and Pogba buy i think this maybe his season as a nailed on starter. George is one for the future, i feel that with the appropriate game time and the correct training he could be a world beater. Oh best news about Butler, Rooney and George is that they all came through my youth team! And the best till last..... Gonzalez is well by his attribute he is a tank, i've only just brought him from Malaga, he had a buy out clause of £45M but after declaring my interest to the press he handed a Transfer Request and so only cost £35M, even so i had to beat Chelsea to him but i think its gonna be worth it. At 22 he still has at least 2 years development and even though his best position is as a striker im gonna play him on the left wing and put him on crossing training cause i think with a few point increases on crossing he will be the best for years to come. SpillBlood
I've actually started my first Utd save purely to pull the youth through. Jones, Januzaj, Wilson, Powell etc. I've been playing Januzaj all across the attacking midfield 3; W-A AM-S W-A dependant on who else played and sometimes switched it around at half time. This is what I managed to get him to do in the first season. Worst bit is that I had a media segment on asking me if I think he should be in the national team, I'd never seen this before, of course I chose yes . He's only picked up 2 caps in the past year - they did fail to get to the WC though. The 2nd transfer window was an utter strange one. PSG bid for Kagawa - they're not even in the Champions League after they bought Hernandez and he flopped majorly for them, yet spat his dummy I rejected a 26mil bid for him. They came in again so I wasn't keeping a player who wanted promises and bought Stanciu and Gould instead. Kagawa wasn't really first team but he sold alot of shirts. Same happened with Khedira. Monaco bid and he spat his dummy, managed getting 26mil for him(he only cost about 14) so replaced him with Will Hughes and have Powell to play. PSG also bid 19mil for Smalling, he did have a good first season but for that money replaced him with Vertonghen and Balanta in for the leaving Vidic/Ferdinand combination I seem to be on a winner here. Except for my LB situation, I had to pay 15mil upfront and 15mil over 48 months for Luke Shaw . It's an interesting save thesedays, alot had changed since last year. Hopefully can get a CL win in my next season and we lost 1 - 0 over two legs to Chelsea since we just didn't seem to turn up yet we smashed the league - sadly didn't get the 100 point tally I was after though(About 93 I finished on). Sunderland beat me on the last day of the season to stay up .

SirToby
UNITED 13/14 My best player of the season, Wayne Rooney, was close to destroy my season with two sending offs at important parts of the season. But the season ended well after all with success in the league and the cup. I would happily have switched sucess in the Champions League for my FA Cup title. Rooney got sent off in the first leg against Chelsea in Champions League semi final and we lost 2-0 after two late goals. We won 2-1 at home which of course was not enough. Rooney also got sent off in FA Cup final after he had scored to 1-0. Welbeck scorede in the second half to give us a 2-0 win and Rooney could breath a sigh of relief. Chelsea was also our biggest competitor in the league, although we win pretty comfortably. We got 93 points, nine more than Chelsea. Our goal difference was on impressive +64. I only bought one player this season. I assessed that we only needed a backup for Evra at left back, why Ricardo Rodriguez was brought in for £14.5m. He had a great season with an average rating of 7.24. Rooney scored 25 goals and had 17 assists and was a most important player. Rooney was Players' Player of the Year and I was very satisfied with the fact that Tom Cleverley took the Players' Young Player award. He scored 10 times and assisted 15 goals. Januzaj, Welbeck, Valencia, Mata og van Persie also scored at least 10 goals why I had seven players who scored at least 10 goals. A fine season - now I want to win Champions League next year. hursty2
United side at the start of my 2016/17 season. ---------------------DDG----------------------- ------------------------------------------------- Rafael------Shawcross-----Evans------Bernat ------------------------------------------------- -----------Lucas Silva----L Bender------------ ------------------------------------------------- Mata--------------Januzaj-------------Bernard ------------------------------------------------- --------------------Lukaku--------------------- Then in back up I've got; John Stones, Alex Galvez, Luke Shaw, Carrick, James Ward-Prowse, Powell, Nani, Joel Campbell, Rooney, Wilson and then a couple of young regens. I holidayed the first season in game and United came 10th so I took them over at the end of that year, winning the Prem for the next 2 seasons, winning the league cup in my first and making it to the CL final last year where I got beat by Barca(AGAIN!) in extra time by 35yd wonder goal by Griezmann. Pretty successful so far but I haven't had a prolific goalscorer throughout so I'm hoping by signing Lukaku that he will fill that role. I'm also trying to get more English players into the side and tbf Shaw, Stones and JWP could step into that starting 11 without any problems.
Zeonflux
Got bored on my current game and sold Pogba, Balanta, Rafael And I'm trying to sell El Shaarawy and I decided to drop £200m on a Regen who single handedly decimated my team in the CL final to help Real Madrid beat me
