Where does Brooklyn beckham start within the game?
Presume stevemc is running a custom database, as he is too young to be in the game from the start.

Yeah, can't remember which, as it was a while ago, it was from here though.

2017/18 - Manchester United

I reached 300 games in management last night…

2w4d3rk.png

Had a brilliant season the Premier League, had the title wrapped up on March 1st with 7 games to go, great response from last season. I was unbeaten in the league until De Gea decided to ridiculously give the ball to a Fulham striker in the 92nd minute at Craven Cottage while under no pressure whatsoever (can only describe it as a bug!), giving me a 1-2 loss, my first defeat in the league on game 31.

I got my team to the League Cup final, when once again, Mourinho and Chelsea continue to be my nemesis :(

ac7me1.png

Currently brushed aside Manchester City in the quarter final on the Champions League, which led to be drawing out Chelsea in the semi's. Exited the FA Cup in the 3rd round after drawing Tottenham away (2nd in the league).

Great season in the league so far, plus winning the Charity Shield, need to top it off by winning the Champions League now.

flat midfield with L and R being set to winger. rather then pushed up, gives a bit more cover to the defense.

oh and I forgot to say I also bought costa up front with those 2.

oh and Moyes, THIS is how you deal with Liverpool

BCA8D3CE8F07BA7FBB49C52A39F51008EFC8C7FF

had 2 cleared off the line in the first half as well.

second half not much happened except the goal, and 1 ruled out for offside (boarderline) scored by Giggs :(

Manchester United: End of 2017/18

Steam rolled the league title, had it wrapped up on March 1st, then rested loads of players and gave the youth team games:

ngc202.png

Also managed to secure my 2nd ever Champions League crown, Real Madrid we're 1-0 up when Quintero has a goal disallowed in the 88th minute, then he equalised in the 91st minute to take the game into extra time. After the sending off, there was no doubt that I was going to win :D

Here's a selection of personal awards for the season:

Decided to off load 30-year-old Juan Mata, and replace him with 20-year-old Spanish playmaker, Jordi, thoughts?

And that's where I left it…

made it to January

had to play a player from the u18s at Left back because Evra was knackered and Balanta Injured

still I solved that Issue

BAF1A4FFDD4A68B13807EE1CF5D58DC7810B03D9

halfway point, lots of clean sheets :D only conceded 7 in the league

now Jan 1st Arrivals

never tried him, so now I can

96ADD16B46F834C44A16902119964A4DB58C1B46

needs a bit of work in the mental side but dribbling and pace with a bit of development room cant go wrong.

going after Montoya, then I'll see what i can offload, as i still fancy a few players in next window, Reus with his 29.5m buyout is an option, or Bernard, then Will Hughes maybe.

I don't think I've ever had a more devastating combined attack than these three right now. First 12 games of the season and I've destroyed everyone who's played me so far.

Fifth season with United:

How has RvP done for you? First 3 seasons he never really scored much (~10 goals in all competitions) but my focus is more on team play so the goals are spread around. Fourth season he rarely played because of Cuffie's excellent form. He's on to his final year of his contract now (I think) and I'll either renew at a heavily reduced rate, or let him go.

I've had good success retraining Rooney to an MC though. Like Robin he didn't really score many the first two seasons, I've retrained him to a centre mid and last season he ended up with 20 goals and 21 assists - Lampard-esque.

Ward Prowse turns out incredible, I prefer him to Hughes but they're similar. You could look at Alan Dzagoev, Mateo Kovacic if you want to look outside the normal Pogba/Lucas Lieva/De Rossi etc. group.

Started the 2018/19 season yesterday, didn't do much business in the Summer, bar shipping out Mangala for £30m, and bring in this kid, who apparently can become the best of his generation:

j6oqw6.png

Also invested some money in the under 18's team, bring in 4/5 new young players with high potential.

Did a pre-season tour of Japan and the USA before coming back to win the Charity Shield for the fourth consecutive season:

zjgk5z.png

Had Spurs away (drew 2-2) and Liverpool away (lost 2-1) as opening games of the season though, fixture list wasn't too kind!

Just finished my first season with United and needless to say it was a disaster. I finished 4th in the league and was knocked out in the Quarter Finals of the Champions League. I did win the Community Shield, Fa Cup and League Cup. However I shipped 33 goals in the league. I only made one signing which was Luke shaw. Disappointed to say the least. Any advice?

I'd say 3 trophies, Champions League football for next season and a Quarter Final appearance is hardly a disaster!

Try and pin down positions that cost you points last season and work on eliminating those. If you had trouble conceding too many, look at where the goals came from and try to figure out why.

EDIT: On the other hand, you could always just buy yourself a Cuffie! :brock:

TomDobson_NewsInbox-9_zpsd2595f59.png

Really impressed with how he has come alone since signing. Had very little pace when he came, I've concentrated on that heavily.

TroyCuffie_OverviewAttributes_zpsbf909257.png

Im slightly annoyed that I could have picked him up on a free if I'd noticed him 6 months earlier. Only found out about him when he became the Premier League's youngest scorer.

Manchester United 2018/19

Carried on with the 2018/19 season last night, after the tough start, I began to hit some form, and I think in the last 5 games, I've finally figured out my strongest eleven, which has helped me bring some continuity to the side.

Won the Super Cup for the first time :)

2lnwduw.png

Also dominating my Champions League group, with this result as the pick of them, no CCC's though…

m8pl75.png

Picked up a solid win against Manchester City, and a 0-1 away win at Arsenal which lead to a top of the table clash with Chelsea:

2ivcspg.png

Chelsea opening the season with 10 wins in a row, are showing similar signs of the one particular season in 2016/17 where they utterly dominated the league from start to finish, with this in mind, and them already having a 7 point lead on me, this was a huge game, and we didn't disappoint :)

2ep5a9j.png

Hopefully now they have been beaten (and drew the game before), they hit a sticky patch and I can claim some points back, here's the table as I left it last night:

6xqknr.png

I'll post up a screenshot of my transfer tonight, but my new 20-year-old wonderkid full back, Josué Millan is settling in brilliantly; average rating over 8.

I'll aim to upload some screen of my Man Utd save tonight. Currently in about December of Season Five.

My attention was diverted for a week by a throwaway England manager save, but I'm back to the North-West again.

I'm gradually trimming out the older, original squad players, so Kagawa and Mata have been sold.

Also trying to offload any "real" players I've brought in who I can improve with newgens.

Kevin Strootman has been injured for a while and will be sold in January. He isn't replaced by a newgen, but I picked up Lucas Romero on a free from Bayern, so he's in instead.

Dodo has done well at left back, but I've signed a guy from Torino who looks like he should be better in the long term, and has the additional bonus that he has stupid hair. Almost signed a so-so dodgy keeper just for his porn moustache, but I saw sense in the end.

All in all, my newgen fast tracking scheme means that I'm gradually decreasing the CA of my squad, but increasing the PA.

I'm fielding 2* CA players from the start, and so far it isn't hindering results at all.

I've also completely changed tactics for this season to liven things up a bit. We've gone from four different single striker tactics, to a flat front three now. This meant I needed to pick up an extra newgen striker or two, and I've signed a grossly expensive 18 year old from Lazio for £21m, who could be the bees knees. In the medium term, I need to find some decent newgen DCs, DMs and MCs, as these are the areas where the majority of my "real" players play, and I'll want to get shot of them over the coming 3-5 seasons.

Financially still very good. The ground capacity in the end is just around 92k, rather than my expected 100k. Due to big ticket sales, no debt and increased capacity, our transfer budget is around £200m, and we're £1m+ under the weekly wage budget.

Good read as always RTH. Always been like that with regens myself after the first couple of seasons, unless someone world class becomes available. Currently at the stage where I have nobody over 30 in the squad, with Fellaini and Bender the next to be shown the door with replacements already in the U21s, albeit one of them needing a bloody work permit.

Started my save again. I was playing on FM Classic before but I have now moved back to the full sim. I wanted to take more control at the club instead of being limited in training and team talks etc. Currently I am 16W 3D 1L.

Van Persie has been an absolute beast scoring 13 in 12 games

Juan Mata has 12 assists in 17 games and 4 goals

Tom Cleverley (Hate IRL) 19 games, 4 goals, 6 assists

All in all its going very well.

Some much needed screenshots to show a few things.

Here is how season four finished. Not a 37-1-0 record as stated at the top of the page - it was 36-2-0:

english-premier-division_-overview-stages.png

That season saw us using a 4-2-3-1 more often than now, with occasional 4-1-4-1 or 4-4-1-1 variants thrown in.

The latest tactic is far more exciting. All about Pressing high with that front three and it works well so far.

Quite a few goals come as a result of freaking out the AI defenders, who make risky cross field passes to one of our forwards.

manchester-united_-tactics-team.png

A few of the young guns shown below. First is the Spaniel haired guy who joins from Torino shortly. Dodo is attracting interest from Barca and Juve, and will make way for the young Italian:

antonio-la-forgia_-overview-profile.png

Another imminent arrival from Italy is this guy, and he demonstrates some decent key attributes for me (dribbling, first touch, passing, technique, composure, creativity, decisions, off the ball, agility, balance, pace, stamina, strength). He's also capable of playing in a few slots, and as I change tactics a lot, that will benefit me in the long run:

marco-manzini_-overview-profile.png

Juca is already here, and a contender for European Golden Boy (along with another player listed below, Pfeiffer). Similar to Manzini, versatile and with good overall attributes already.

juca_-overview-profile.png

This guy is probably Michelle Pfeiffer's son :D Rinse and repeat what I said about Juca and Manzini.

Long time between drinks for me looking at my last post heh. Anyway, I'm in season 2019/20 now with United, so about 6 seasons in. Won the EPL each season so far, and won either the CoC or FA Cup each season bar one (never won them both)...but the CL only won twice, and lost in the final 4 times (took me till the 4th season to win it!).

Current first squad:

GK - De Gea/Guaman/Edmilson (last 2 bought regens)

FB - Luke Shaw/Ben Davis, Rafael/Smalling

CB - Jones/Balanta/Evans/Costas

DLP - Nick Powell/N'Diaye/Noah Kemp (last 2 regens, first bought, 2nd youth)

BBM - Gil/Dom Rodwell (regens, first bought, 2nd youth)

AMC - Correa/Arancibia/Driussi/Rafinha (Arancibia is a bought regen)

AML/AMR - Lamolina/Glushko (bought regens)

ST - Henriquez/Diogo (latter is a regen youngster bought recently). Rooney I released on a free transfer with RvP when their contracts expired...felt there were better options. Rooney was only 32 - didn't find another club and retired!

Formation:

Been playing with a 4-2-3-1 and swapping between having 3 AMCs and having 2 wingers and 1 AMC. Generally play the latter when I'm away and so go on the counter with more direct play, whereas first option is more for home games where I can do more intricate passing and possession play.

In terms of my team - at this point, I've shipped out most of my original squad...major sales/buys:

Season 1

Out: Nani (20m), Ashley Young (9m) and Anderson (12.5m)

In: Santon (15m), Ben Davis (10m), Leandrinho (4m)

Notes: Ben Davis has been terrific, developed into a 3.5 star FB on the left. Developed Leandrinho quite nicely into a BBM and even got him a cap or two for Brazil. A good buy.

Season 2

Out: Valencia (15m), Cleverley (35.5m to Chelsea...where he promptly sat on the bench pretty much for most of the next few years...couldn't believe it when they offered this much! Lost his England spot due to lack of appearances as well poor guy)

In: Bertolacci (4m), Correa (3m), Balanta (10.5m) and 2 damn good regens - N'Diaye, DM/BBM for 4.8m and Arancibia, an AMC for 7m.

Notes: These ins are the core of my team right now tbh, except Bertolacci, who got sold to Barca a few seasons later. Correa is a 4.5 rated AMC, Balanta everyone knows I guess and the BBM is a 4.5 rated wonderkid, who's only just turned 20 now in season 7 so bought him quite young, whereas the AMC is also ridiculously good.

Season 3:

Out: Hernandez (17m), Kagawa (27m) and Zaha (26.5m - went to PSG)

In: Sergi Roberto (free) plus 2 regens, Glushko, an AMR for 10m and Guaman a 5 star rated GK for 12m

Notes: Hernandez and Zaha went to PSG, couldn't refuse the cash, and Kagawa to Real Madrid...I wanted to develop Correa so felt it was fine to get rid of Kagawa and the AMR I bought was 5 star rated as well, so felt fine to get rid of Zaha. The AMR and regen GK are in my starting XI now, although I play with a mix of 4-2-3-1 narrow and wide (i.e. with 3 AMCs or 2 wingers and 1 AMC), so the AMR is only developed into a 3 star player right now. But still darn good! The regen GK has displaced DDG, who I use in cups only.

Season 4:

Out: Januzaj (2.5m), Fabio (11.25m), Leandrinho (24m - Shakhtar)

In: Luke Shaw (19.25m), Rafinha (free - from Barca, Thiago's brother), Florian Thauvin (3.7m) and an Argentinian regen DC rated at 5 stars, Costa (6.25m)

Notes: Another 3 ins who will be there long term I feel, Luke Shaw is terrific, 4 star rated at full capacity, Rafinha only 3 stars but done damn well for me as well, and Costa is now third choice behind Jones and Balanta. Sold Januzaj as I didn't develop him enough, Fabio as I was bringing in Shaw and Leandrinho because he was only 3 star rated and I was going to make a huge profit (but not as much as the ones coming up!)

Season 5:

Out: Fellaini (8.75m), Santon (25.5m) both to Juve

In: Driussi (4.6m bargain as he was 3 star rated already, didn't have to develop him much further), Barbosa (free, from Barca where he'd gone in season 1) and a regen DM/CM (Gil) for 2.3m rated 4.5 star at the time

Notes: Fellaini and Santon felt they were surplus plus I was using Santon at RB swapping with Rafael, which I felt meant Smalling didn't get too much action as CB had Jones/Balanta/Evans/Costa. Driussi was very good timing, got him cheap and well developed, now an integral part of my team, plus he can play as poacher too. Barbosa was kinda useless tbh, bought him because he was on a free and a good potential but I sent him on loan and he didn't develop a lot (yes was a league I had loaded - Twente, Dutch).

Season 6:

Out: Massive sales here - Thauvin (12m), Bertolacci (30.5m), Sergi Roberto (41.5m), Barbosa (4.5m)

In: Regen GK (Edmilson) on a free transfer, plus also bought regen AML (Lamolina) for 19.25m as I sold Thauvin and needed a replacement, plus a regen ST

Notes: Just couldn't refuse the prices on offer, especially considering I bought Bertolacci and Roberto combined for 4m pounds...selling them for 72m was just ridiculous. Went to Barca and Madrid respectively. Thauvin to Monaco and Barbosa back to Brazil. Lamolina complements my regen AMR quite well, took some time to adjust but now in Season 7 is doing his business quite well.

Others are usual players - Jones, Smalling, DDG, Balanta, Henriquez, Powell etc who have progressed as per normal, haven't trained them to any other positions or anything, just put them on training for their position (CD, CD, GK, CD, Poacher, AP etc.)

Probably main area is RB that needs upgrading now, but Rafael and Smalling are doing well so far.

SS of last few seasons, CL just eluding me first few years, those 3 finals losses in a row sucked!

1st Season Early Season Update

Transfers

1stSeasonTransfers_zps9484997b.jpg

The glazers were very helpful gave me a bit extra money on both wages and transfers when i asked. In terms of players in was not sure what i wanted to do in terms of actual targets i wanted a central midfield so i decided to go for a trusted source in De Rossi him and carrick have a great partnership it seems so far. The other transfers were mainly with the future Silva to replace Evra in the future possibly and Balanta to also replace vidic when he leaves on a free at the end of the season. Timo Werner signed becuase i hear he becomes a quality player in the future and as part of the deal to bring him in he has been loaned back to Stuttgart until end of season at which point i will reassess what im going to do striker wise. Players out nothing major just release poor young players and buttner and anderson to release wages to put back in transfer budget i used a custom database with loans removed so i could set this up the way i want them from the start. Overall happy with the summer business got a quality CM in and invested in the future in other areas.

Tactic

1stSeasonUnitedTactics_zps3268c908.jpg

This is the tactic i use from the start its my 1st choice and the team shown is the starting 11 other than Evra in at left back when fit. I like the solid base in midfield with carrick and De rossi and the creativity of th 3 behind RVP good movement and chance creation.

Fixtures

1stSeasonFixturesEarlyMonths_zps14d520da.jpg

Amazing start to the season the highlights Chelsea and Spurs not been our best in all those games but the quality finshing from RVP has been the reason also mata and adnan have been amazing on the wings teams at the moment cant handle us but FM has a habbit of saying you are winning too much time to screw with you :)

League Table

1stSeasonEarlyLeagueTable_zps06dac608.jpg

I know its early and you cant win the league in October but you can certainly lose it the main surprise is seeing chelsea so low down with Jose in charge im sure that will soon change looking like a 2 horse race for the title but im sure more will be brought into the race soon enough

Overall im very happy with the start to the season and the transfers made gives me a solid start to the save and this season hopefully i can gather more points as soon as possible and make it 21 times Man United.I will post a update when the season has completed let me know what you think thanks for reading

Update from me at end of March 2018. League looks like this:

english-premier-division_-overview-stages1.png

Good spread of goals from my rotated front six (Juca played a couple of goals up front, but now plays from CM:

manchester-united_-squad-players.png

I hugely overpaid for this guy from Real Madrid (£48m), but hadn't seen any decent newgen DMs to play as Anchor. He'll do the job nicely.

Have flogged Strootman, Dodo, Bender and Sergio Roberto since the last update.

can't complain about that though

2018/19 – Manchester United

Currently in December, here are my transfers, mostly regens:

s3k1ty.png

Easily won the World Club Cup, must be the easiest competition to win, so I've added that to the Charity Shield and Super Cup so far:

16ixov8.png

Disappointingly exited the League Cup in the quarter final, lost 4-2 in extra time in a game I dominated, but have drawn Championship side Charlton in the FA Cup 3rd round, also got a nice game against Celtic coming up:

dynpcl.png

And in Moyes watch…. :D

24e2ttu.png

Here is the table as I left it, Chelsea have fallen apart since I ruined them 6-1, losing two and drawing one while I was away winning the World Club Cup:
