Whatawaster95
My 6 year old computer is starting to slow down and doesn't run FM as fast as it used to, my friend told me if I install FM 14 on an SSD drive it might slightly run a bit faster, is he right in saying this? Administrators Neil Brock Posted October 17, 2013 Administrators Share Posted October 17, 2013 It'll certain make the game save and load faster as well as other slight speed benefits. To be honest a decent processor will help more than anything else.
jakobx
No. Only things like start up or saving will be faster. The game is slow because your computer (CPU) is slow. Since its 6 years old its most likely a dual core processor.
Q.P.R
I have a 256 GIG Ssd drive .. and no matter what others tell you .. it will not make a big diffrance , I build pc for a hobbie , your main part is the processor . and only that , forget about adding ram , footballmanager runs at 32 bit and will not use much more than 3 gig if that . wez007
Dont waste your money on a SSD alone, look to upgrade CPU which takes the most brunt on FM14. Mind you Idoubt you could just change a CPU on a 6 year old system, you'd probably have to change the board for newer ivy bridge/haswell quad core cpu.... then again its probably more beneficial to get a new pc I got a new one from Overclockers (they do decent credit facilites also), PC specialist are also pretty good. Not that im pushing you to get a new box mind
Oxslow
ssd will help with saving and loading your game it is more on the processor and ram will have more of an impact of how fast the processing of the game runs.
Ohanzee
I bought a SSD to upgrade my old computer (before recently buying a new complete package, keeping just the SSD) and I hardly felt a difference in Football Manager. Yes, loading and saving was faster, but for in game processing it made almost no difference in my experience. If you play any games that are constantly loading assets (models, textures, etc) from the disk though the difference is absolutely massive with a SSD. Changing to a new CPU however was like night and day for me in Football Manager. I might exaggerate a bit now, but I swear just creating a new game with 6-7 leagues went from something like 15 minutes to under a minute. My old PC was 5-6 years old as well.
