Sorry to see you relegated ashton321. Glad you're not giving up though. Good luck in France!

I'm done with another season myself (actually since Sunday), but haven't had time to do a review (or play any more) this week.

Selkirk (The Scouters) - 2024/25 - Season 10

2nd in Scottish Premiership (Graph) - Much like last season. Scoring lots of goals, conceding a bit less, but still to much to really take on Celtic. Still pleased as our entire wage budget would cover less than 2 of their players.

All Cups - Won League Cup, including beating Celtic in a cracker. Scottish Cup was terrible.

Europe - Well this was unexpected. After a completely insane home game against Everton where both teams scored almost every shot they had I didn't really think we'd have any chance of getting even to the Playoffs. But we completely hammered them in the away game, and the result don't even lie, we were that good. Then we drew Leverkusen in the playoffs and after getting just a 1 goal lead from the home match I thought surely not. But no, my players turned up for another away match and hammered the German side as well.

It didn't stop there though as we went through a group with Athletic, Rosenborg and Shaktar without losing a game. Finally we did lose to a German side though, in the 2nd KO stage. HSV weren't really that much better than us on the field, but my attackers all of a sudden completely forgot how to score in both matches. Brilliant performance non the less.

Transfers and Finances - Fewer transfers as I'm trying to get some consistency in the squad now. Those that joined did well though. Finances look better after that run in Europe, but still bad. We can't support even our fairly low wage budget with our current stadium. The board have taken up another loan to expand it with 1,250 seats though. Not really amazing, but while it's being done we'll play at Easter Road (Hibernians stadium), which has a capacity of 20k.

Squad ratings - Some good performances. Still our attackers take the plaudits. Especially pleased with 7 different players scoring and assisting more than 10 each. Beginning to have trouble renewing contracts as I can't even offer what they have because of yearly wage rise clauses.

Some decent performers

Søren Hansen - New young striker. Extremely quick, did very well.

Daniel Aasarød - Had a completely insane start to the season, scoring 10 goals in 5 European games. Refused to sign a new contract so he's going to FC Nordsjælland on a free. Makes no sense to me why he'd want that, but what ever, we got plenty of attacking options.

Patrick Schilder - New Dutch attacker. Very pleased with his first season.

Rostyslav Kovalenko - Didn't get as many games this season, but did well when give then chance.

Andy Kawaya - Another good season.

Michael Templeton - Another decent season.

Jaimie McLean - Double digits from midfield again.

Gino Witschge - New midfielder, both scoring and assisting 10+.

Alvaro Pejenaute - His 4th season and he finally had a very good one.

Bryan Downey - The rock in the team, playing almost every game.

Stuart Brawls, União Micaelense 2023-24, Season 10, Portugal Premier League

Season Targets

After winning both cup competitions last season and narrowly missing out on the league championship (finished 2nd a single point from 1st) our aim for the new season was to win the league.

Supertaca

As cup winners we faced League champions Benfica in the Supertaca. Unfortunately for us we were not good enough so early in the season and were beaten 2-1

Taca De Portugal

As defending champions we had high hopes in the competition this season.

After a comfortable 4-0 win over National league side Torreense in the 3rd round we faced Porto in the 4th round.

We took the lead against Porto from a corner with a header from our left back Clayton before Porto equalised before half time. The winner deservedly came in the second half as Hajji drilled the ball home from the edge of the box after 63 mins.

The 5th round gave us another difficult tie against Sporting. We fell behind after only 2 minutes but Souza scored a tap in to equalise after 20 mins. We then couldn't hit a barn door as chance after chance missed the target which result in the score being 1-1 after 90 and was still 1-1 after 120 mins. Both teams scored their first 3 penalties before Sporting missed their fourth to give us the advantage but we were unable to capitalise as Souza also missed the fourth penalty. With the next 2 penalties both scored we were into sudden death at 4-4. Amazingly both teams scored their next 8 penalties before at 12-12 Sporting missed and we were finally able to capitalise as Junior scored to give us a 13-12 penalty win.

In the 6th round tie against Maritimo 2 goals from Kouadio saw us comfortably through.

The Semi Final over 2 legs put us up against Tondela. With the home leg first we looked to dominate the tie from the off and with goals from Souza (22), Jansson (34) and Kouadio (59) we were in a comfortable position though Tondela did pull as late goal back with their only shot on target. Taking the 3-1 lead into the second leg we rested a couple of our players and one of the players to come into the side was Ugonna Johnsson who bagged a brace to put us 2-0 up in the match and 5-1 up on aggregate. Unfortunately we feel apart at the end of the game as Tondela scored in the 89th and 91st minutes to end the leg 2-2 and 5-3 on aggregate.

The final was against Moreirense and a strike from the edge of the area from Jansson after 11 minutes gave us the perfect start to the final. Jansson got his sceond of the game after 33 minutes to give us a commanding 2-0 lead at half time. The seond half saw Moreirense come back into the game as a goal from a throw in after 50 mins put them back in the game at 2-1. The game was evenly matched for the next half an hour before after 80 minutes our top goalscorer Kouadio slotted home a through ball from Souza. We saw the rest of the game out to win our second successive Taca de Portugal with a 3-1 win.

Fixtures | Final

League Cup

We entered this competition as defending champions and were placed straight into the second group phase against Belenenses, Nacional de Madeira and Moreirense.

A 4-1 win over Belenenses, 1-1 draw against Nacional de Madeira and a 3-1 win over Moreirense saw us top our group with 7 points and through to the semi final against Rio Ave.

The match against Rio Ave saw 2 goals from Kouadio to give us a 2-0 victory.

The final was against Porto and after a tense opening few minutes the deadlock was broken after 24 minutes when Jansson put us ahead as he lobbed the keeper after being put through by Hajji. The scoreline remained 1-0 at half time. We pressed forward in the second half and added to our lead with a goal from Felipe (ST) after 58 mins as both Hajji and Felipe both picked up injuries. This enabled Vietto to pull 1 back for Porto and to put us under pressure with the score at 2-1. Thankfully we were able to scope with the pressure as goals from Jansson after 85 mins and Souza in the 92nd gave us a fantastic 4-1 victory over Porto as we retained the trophy.

League - Premier League

After falling short in the 2 previous seasons to end up finishing 2nd (with 71 and 79 points from 30 games) after top the league late into the season we were deterined this season to win the league for the first time.

With the additions of Momadou Kouadio from Porto up front, Mohammed Saad in defense and Valter Neto in goal we had significantly strengthened the squad over the summer break.

Thankfully we had an absolutley amazing season as we went on a long winning streak that gave us a significant points lead early on as both Benfica and Porto stummbled.

Our form continued and we were able to win the league for the 1st time with several games to spare.

We finished the season with 79 points (the same as last season!) but this time rather than finish 1 point off 1st we finished 16 points ahead of 2nd.

EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN

Champions League

Last season we reached the quarter final where we were knocked out by Man. United 5-4 on aggregate.

This season we were drawn in the group stage along side PSG, Ajax and Shakhtar.

We didn't start the group stage well as we were completly outclassed away at PSG and were quite frankly lucky to leave with a 1-0 defeat.

A tough game at home to Shakhtar followed as we struggled to break them down in the first half and as a result we went into half time level at 0-0. An early goal in the second half from Hajji looked to give us the advantage but Clayton was sent off after 49 mins and we had to finish the game off with 10 men. We were able to hold on and took 3 valuable points with the 1-0 win.

The 2 games againgst Ajax ended 2-2 away and at home we won 3-1 to give us 7 points from 4 games.

The home tie against PSG followed and this was a very even match as the stats were almost identical for both sides. The difference came through Jansson as he scored the only goal of the game to give us a 1-0 win and guarantee us qualification from the group.

We ended with a 1-0 away defeat against Shakhtar in a match we were the better side but we still ended up topping the group with 10 points.

1st knockout round put us up against Real Madrid. The away leg was first and we were quickly out of the box as Jansson bagged a brace with half an hour and 2 important away goals. Real Madrid came back though and Memphis Depay bagged a brace for himself either side of half time to level the match 2-2. Real Madrid were the better side till the end of the match and we were fortunate for the game to finish level at 2-2. The Home leg was similar to the away leg in that Jansson continued his excellent European form as he again bagged a brace of goals after an hour to give us a nice advantage. Real pulled 1 back after 78 minutes but we held on and Kouadio put icing on the cake as he scored in the 90 min to give us a 3-1 win on the night and a 5-3 victory on aggregate.

The Quater Final was against Inter Milan (who we had beaten in the group stage last season). Our confidence going into this tie ebbed away as the first home leg ended in a 3-3 draw after we threw away a 1-0 and 3-1 leads in the match. We therefore had to attack in the second leg to nulify the away goal advantage that Inter had and we were able to capitalise as we crucially won the leg 3-1 to give us a 6-4 victory.

For the first time in our history we had reached the semi final of the Champions League where we would face Bayern Munich. The away leg was first and Bayern were lethal in front of goal in this match as they ran out 3-1 winners. We tried to turn the tie around in the second home leg and won the game but only managed a 2-1 victory which put us out 4-3 on aggregate. Still it was a fantastic run for us in this competition.

Players

Valter Neto - Signed on a free in the Summer. He became our first choice keeper and had an excellent first season keeping 17 clean sheets. He was even selected in the Champions League Dream Team

Luciano Culio - Former first choice keeper he lost his place with the arrival of Neto.

Emilio Zeballos - Continues to excel at right back as he averaged 7.31 over the 45 games he played this season.

Martin Laros - Backup right back but was excellent when called upon.

Garrincha - Backup left back.

Clayton - Excellent season at left back as he averaged 7.37 over 42 appearances though the 16 yellows and 1 red is a concern.

Alexandre Alfaiate - Centre back who wasn't used.

Marvin Gonzalez - Very good season for the centre back.

Lautaro Manquez - Backup centre back.

Fabio Mariano - Played 22 games and did well but found himself relegated to the bench with our new signings.

Hernan Pinna - Bought from Ulsan for a club record fee of 3.9m in January. Played 14 games in the final few months of the season at centre back and did well. He has huge potential for the future.

Mohammed Saad - Signed on a free in the Summer. Can play anywhere across the back 4 but was mainly used as a centre back. Solid season.

Kabba Jagne - Bought for 850k from Metz in the Summer. Played to give Junior a rest and to give him match experience. He is still only 17 and has plenty of potential for the future.

Junior - Has remained essential as our Def Mid and was solid throughout the season.

Claudio Ibraim - Backup player in midfield who mainly came of the bench replacing tired players.

Joao Pedro - Good season but played less in the second half of the season with the arrival of Steensel.

Jose Manuel Amado - Backup

Felipe 2 - Backup

Souza - Yet another excellent season. Picked up 12 goals and 20 assists.

Muhammed Hajji - Continues to improve and had a better season picking up 7 goals and 6 assists. Still has the potential to improve.

Tom Van Steensel - Bought from Ajax in January for 425k. Became after a regular starter and picked up 8 assists.

Felipe - Used as a rotational player up front with 16 starts and 16 sub appearances. Still managed to bag 14 goals and 9 assists.

Ugonna Johnson - Signed on a free in the summer. Used occasionally and did well when used with 6 goals and 5 assists.

Ricardo Castillo - Unused striker.

Johannes Jansson - Excellent season especially in Europe. Scored 26 goals and 17 assists.

Mamadou Kouadio - Yet another player signed on a free in the Summer. Signing of the Season! He was simply brilliant all season and prolific in front of goal. In 45 games he scored 43 goals!

Bimbao - Occasional Sub.

Build upon our Domestic success this season and perhaps more importantly in terms of this challenge improve on our European campaigns so far.

Selkirk (The Scouters) - 2025/26 - Season 11

2nd in Scottish Premiership (Graph) - Pretty much like last season, and the one before. Celtic just to strong. I beat them once in the league, but they beat us twice. Qualified for ECL again though.

All Cups - Not much to talk about.

Europe - I think I forgot to mention in my last update that Scotland now has 2 ECL places again. We entered into the Best Placed Q. and hammered Dynamo Kyiv 8-0 away. A boring 0-0 draw put us through to the Best Placed playoffs. We only managed a draw 1-1 at home against Schalke, but once again our away form saw us through with a 3-0 win in Germany. This seem to be our biggest problem atm, we're actually better away than we are at home.

The group stage didn't go to well as both Real Madrid and Marseille beat us twice. We took 4 points off Shaktar though and moved into the Europa League. We had a good run here with some crazy games. A 4-2 home win against Maribor turned into a 4-6 loss away, but it was enough to see us through on goal difference. More of the same against Fenerbache before we once again beat Schalke in Germany. Funnily enough the only team we beat both home and away was AC Milan in the semi finals. Once again we lost to HSV though, this time in the final. It really could have gone both ways, but they just have more quality. Great run non the less and lots of money in the bank.

Transfers and Finances - Just a couple of new players this season as our wage budget was set below what we were already spending. A few loan deals as well. Finances looks brilliant now. Champions League football really is crazy money for a club of this size. The board once again plan to expand the stadium, but we'll only be up to about 4k still. I'm crossing my fingers that they'll give me a bigger wage budget to work with next season with all this money in the bank.

Squad - It's painfully obvious what we need to take the step up. Defenders. My left back Diskerud for instance got 20 yellow cards and 4 red in his 4 matches. More than once ruining matches for us. The central defenders keep having complete nightmare matches from time to time as well.

Some decent performers

Søren Hansen - Great season by the striker.

Patrick Schilder - Brilliant season.

Jamie McLean - Consistent performance in midfield.

Michael Templeton - Looks like he won't develop much further, but he kept scoring in his 6th season at the club.

Gino Witschge - Another good season by the midfielder.

Caio - New defender. Only joined in January so hopefully he can make a bigger impact next season.

Slaven Bencun - New striker to replace Kawaya. Did ok.

Selkirk (The Scouters) - 2026/27 - Season 12

1st in Scottish Premiership (Graph) - It started badly with 1 win 2 losses and a draw in the first 4 matches. Meanwhile Celtic won their matches and I thought for sure we'd at best fight for 2nd again. But we then went 22 games unbeaten, before finally losing away to Celtic. That was the last game we lost all season though. We beat Celtic 2-1 away after the season split and they then lost to Hearts putting us top of the league before the final match. We managed a scrappy 1-0 win over Hearts in our final game of the season and won the league.

The gap down to 3rd place is huge, but I also think we got lucky. Celtic still have a much better squad than us. Lead by their 50 (almost) goal striker Deschamps. We'll probably have to play a close to perfect season once again to repeat this success.

All Cups - Terrible. The loss in the league cup to Partick Thistle was just silly though. After 11 minutes they got a penalty they never should have had. My players completely lost their heads over the decision and we received 5 yellow and 2 red cards in 1 minute. That's got to be some sort of record. One of the red cards even got withdrawn after I appealed the decision.

Europe - We barely got through to the group stages and then drew Bayern, Real Madrid and Marseille. I really didn't expect us to do much, but we beat all 3 of them once and Marsille twice to win the group. The away match against Real Madrid show how lucky we were to beat them once though. In the 1st KO round Chelsea was to strong, or to be fair they weren't really as we beat them away, but then had 21 shots without scoring in the home game. That's football though, you don't score you don't win, and their striker did. I guess that's what they are paying him £155k a week for.

Transfers and Finances - Quite a few transfers as I was given more freedom with wages this season. Still mostly free transfers though.

Lost money, mostly due to higher wages (especially bonuses) and not playing in a big stadium like last season. Speaking of, that's gonna change. In one years time we'll be playing at Selkirk Stadium with a capacity of 18,826. A loan of £19M and a sponsorship of £9M is funding it.

Squad - Mostly happy with it. Still struggling to find a good defensive partnership though, and the left back needs some work. Young squad, average age of 24.

Some decent performers

Martin Moreyra - New striker that I decided to go all out for at the end of the transfer window. He's basically got all I can offer in terms of a contract, but he sure was worth it.

Patrick Schilder - Another great season.

Mohammed Marcher - New talented striker.

Steven Bagshaw - Experienced Scottish midfielder.

Mike Kinder - Provided much needed consistency at right back, now if only I can find a left back that's half decent.

Frank Rutten - New goalkeeper, did very well.

Kristofer Skuli Helgason - Central defender who joined mid season. Much to thank for our great defensive record this season.

Selkirk (The Scouters) - 2027/28 - Season 13

2nd in Scottish Premiership (Graph) - Well it was much like expected. We couldn't quite keep up with our performance of last year and Celtic just kept theirs going. Much thanks to the 6 players their parent club PSG sent them on loan. They've had between 5 and 7 players on loan from PSG ever since we joined this division. And it's not rejects either, it's bloody superstars. It's not just the PSG guys either, they loan from all the top teams in Europe. This season they had 11 superstars on loan, 11!!! Maybe I should ask my board for a parent club.

2nd place now means direct qualification to the ECL group stage, as Scotland moved past Holland last season. Half the teams in the division now play in Europe. A team that isn't in the division is Rangers who failed in the Championship promotion playoffs for the 5th time in a row this season. I'm really puzzled by this as they are still a huge club pulling 31k+ people to watch them every home game.

All Cups - We won the Scottish Cup, beating Celtic on penalties in the final.

Europe - Good run, much easier group this time. We managed to beat Man Utd at home to. Liverpool to strong in the quarter final.

Transfers and Finances - Very few transfers this season as I look for some consistency. Might need a few next season though as some contracts are running out. Finances look ok. We didn't lose much, and next season we'll finally be in our new stadium.

Squad ratings - With two 25 goal strikers I can't believe I'm saying it, but I want more. To many games we won 1-0 when we created enough to score at least 4-5. Not sure what to do about that. Maybe it's just the other teams in the league getting better though.

Some decent performers

Rafinha - New guy #1. I brought him in to be a central defender, but he ended up playing in midfield.

Dijkhuizen - New guy #2. Experienced left back.

Moreyra - Best performer again and the star of the team.

Bagshaw - Good season again.

Templeton - His 8th season at the club and maybe his best.

Hard drive failure. Think I've got a back-up save from this season, but not sure how far back it is. Probably haven't won the league, really. :(

Loaded the back-up. It's from about half-way through the season. Hopefully I'll be able to win again.

Stuart Brawls, União Micaelense 2024-25, Season 11, Portugal Premier League

Season Targets and Pre-Season

After completing a domestic treble last season and reaching the Semi-Final of the Champions League our aims for the season was to defend our league title and have another good Champions League campaign.

To enable this I brought in a couple of first team improvements but also some much improved squad players. This would result in me being able to field an almost a completely differrent 11 in the domestic cup competitions ensuring that our main players remained fresh for the main objectives of this challenge.

The other big decision before the start of the season was the sale of Muhammed Hajji who beginning his final year of his contract wanted too much money to extend his contract (compared to what the board would allow me to give him) and so the decision was taken to sell him to Arsenal for 8.25m, i had originally bought him 2 years before for only 550k.

Our only other concerns for the season would be the loss of Mohammed Saad for Kuwait and Farid Joukar for Iran as they played throughout November and December in the World Cup Asia Quals and WAAF Championship and also Mamadou Kouadio in January for the African Cup of Nations.

Supertaca

We had previously played in the Supertaca twice before and lost to Benfica on both occasions. This year we faced Moreirense who we had beaten in the Taca de Portugal final. A 4-2 win gave us our 1st victory in this competition.

Fixtures

Taca De Portugal

We had won the this Cup in the 2 previous seasons and using our squad players we progressed through the early rounds by beating Freamunde 5-1, Arouca 1-0 and Vit. Setubal 2-0.

We then drew Benfica in the 6th round and most of our first team players returned to play this match. Benfica took the lead in the 1st minute before we took hold of the game a by half time we were 3-1 up after 2 goals from Souza and 1 from Clayton. Souza then missed a penalty in the 2nd half to extend our lead but we still progressed with a 3-1 win.

Our squad players then returned for the 2 legs in the Semi-Final against Second League side Oliveira Bairro and with a 3-0 home win and a 4-1 away win we progressed to the final 7-1 on aggregate.

For the second succesive season we faced Moreirense in the final and we were fantastic as a hat-trick from David Saavedra plus goals from Hernan Pinna and Simeon Stoychev meant we won the Cup for the thrid year in a row with a 5-0 win.

League Cup

We had also won this competition for the previous 2 season and we entered straight into the 3rd Phase Group Stage and by beating Belenenses 4-3, Gil Vicente 3-1 and Vit. Setubal 6-0 we topped the group.

The Semi-Final was against Fc Porto but we couldn't take the many chances that we created and the final score a 1-0 defeat to knock us out of the competition

League - Premier League

After winning the league for the first time in the previous season we were looking to repeat the league win.

We had another brilliant season as we reached the top of the league after 4 games and were never headed as for the third season in a row we scored 79 points.

As we only had 5 games left to play after the 22nd March and with the league title already secured we were able to rotate the squad and give some of the players who had mainly only played in the cup matches some games in the league.

EUROPEAN CAMPAIGN

Champions League

After winning the league last season we entered the competition in the Group Stage in the third group of seeds and were drawn against last years winners of this competition AC Milan, Olympique Lyonnais and IFK Goteborg.

A 3-1 win in the opening game away at IFK Goteborg was followed by a 2-2 home draw against AC Milan after we equalised in the 91st minute. The 2 games against Lyon finished 4-1 at home and 2-2 away after we equalised in the 94th minute.

The home match against IFK Goteborg ended in a 3-0 win whic was enough to secure our progression to the 1st knockout round. All that was left was the away game against AC Milan for who finish 1st and 2nd. The first half ended 2-2 after we went 1-0 down and then 2-1 up. We then missed a penalty in the second half before AC scored 2 late goals ton beat us 4-2 and leave us in second place in the group.

We faced Liverpool in the 1st Knockout round and at home first we found ourselves 1-0 down after a 14th minute penalty. We fought back and Jansson volleyed home a cross from Kouadio after 40 mins to draw us level at 1-1 at half time. Just after the break we won a penalty ourselves but Kouadio's penalty was saved by the Liverpool keeper. Kouadio then made amends on 55 mins as he slotted home a throughball from Souza. The match then ended 2-1.

The away leg again saw us again go behind early on as Lieverpool took the lead after 7 mins giving Liverpool the advantage on away goals. We fought back and after 22 mins Kouadio headed home a cross from Jansson. A corner on 29 mins ended up in a bit of 6 yard pinball before Saad eventually scored for us giving us a 2-1 lead on the night and a 4-2 lead on aggregate. Despite both sides having chances in the remainder of the match there was no further goals.

We were now in the Quarter Final where we face another English side in Manchester City. Again the Home leg was first for us and despite pour dominace through the match we were unable to find a breakthrough as the game ended 0-0. Unsurprisingly the Man of the Match went to the Man City goalkeeper.

The away leg saw us make a crucial breakthrough after only 34 seconds as Kouadio, despite being surrounded by 6 City players (after they all followed the ball!) on the byeline, managed to get the ball out and across the goal to find Jansson who only had to tap the ball home. We continued to press forwards but there was no change to the scoreline until the 60 minute when a 25 yard freekick was curled into the top corner of the net by Kouadio. Kouadio then made the victory even more emphatic by scoring a penalty after 82 mins. We therefore progressed with a 3-0 aggregate win. Man City in the whole of the second leg at the Etihad Stadium produced the grand total of 4 shots.

The Semi Final was amazingly against yet another English side in Chelsea. This time the away leg was first and just like the away match against Man City we took the lead in the 1st minute as Kouadio was challenged in the box by a Chelsea defender and the ball rolled across goal to enable Jansson to score from 2 yards out. Chelsea fought back and after our keeper saved one shot the ball fell to another Chelsea player in Javi Fernandez who was able to roll the ball into the net to level the match. On the 29th minute Jansson played Kouadio through past the Chelsea defense and he was able to beat the keeper and give us a 2-1 away lead. Both teams then continued to create chances but the 1 remaining goal in the match came on the 79th minute when Tkemaladze crossed for Kouadio to score a header past the keeper from an almost impossible angle. After the 17 shots and 12 on target the 3-1 away win in the first leg gave us a fantastic opportunity of making our first European final.

The Home leg saw me make 2 changes as i took the risk of leaving out both of my full backs, Tkemaladze and Clayton as they were the only 2 players at risk of missing the final if they picked up another yellow card. The first half did not go according to the plan of controlling the game and keep the scoreline level as the scorer for Chelsea from the first leg, Javi Fernandez, scored a first time shot from over 20 yards out into the top corner after 23 minutes and then scored a penalty after 43 mins to give Chelsea a 2-0 lead on the night leaving us with only the away goal advantage with the tie 3-3 on aggregate. Controlling the game obviously wasnt working and so we made a couple of tactical changes and these were almost instantly vindicated as in the 1st minute of first half injury time Jansson broke through past the Chelsea defense but his shot was saved by Thibault Courtois but the rebound came straight back to him and he scored at the second attempt. With Chelsea looking to get back in the tie we were able to hold them back and in the 81st minute a break eventually saw Van Steensel play Kouadio through to slot the ball past Courtois. A 91st minute corner eventually ended up at the feet of Mohammed Saad who scored to give us a 3-2 win on the night and a 6-3 win on aggregate to see us progree to the Champions League Fianl for the first time ever.

Amazingly in the final we were not up against an English club though the Final was to be held in England at Wembley. Instead we faced fellow Portuguese side FC Porto and after our domestic domination of recent years this gave us enourmous confidence of winning the Champions Lague for the first time and completing this challenge. Porto had progressed to the Final after finishing 2nd in their group to Celtic (Bayern were knocked out in this group) then aggregate wins of 3-0 over Anderlecht, 5-1 over BATE and a 2-2 away goals win over Celtic.

So the first Champions League final for Union Clube de Micaelense went as follows:

0 Min: Kick off by Micaelense here at Wembley for the Champions League Final featuring 2 Portuguese sides.

8th Min: Attack for Micaelense and Souza passes to Jansson who's pass to Kouadio is blocked by a Porto defender who in trying to clear the call hits the ball against Jansson and the ball falls to Kouadio who then fires a shot from the edge of the area only for it to thunder back off the crossbar!

15th Min: Clayon passes the ball into the box to Jansson who then rolls it off to Souza who 8 yards out shoots but it hits the post and is cleared by the Porto defense.

25th Min: Vietto advances down the right wing for Porto and looks to cross the ball into the danger area but is then fouled by Micaelense's left back Clayton who picks up a YELLOW CARD and will miss the next European match.

27th Min: Micaelense have the ball in the centre circle with Souza who is challenged from behind by Porto's central midfielder Igor Rodriguez who gets a YELLOW CARD.

31st Min: Porto attack down the middle of the pitch but a pass by Yarmolenko is intercepted by Micaelense's Ginga who is then fouled from behind by Igor Rodriquez. Freekick to Micaelense but what is the referee going to do as Rodriguez is already on a yellow card. The referee calls Rodrigues over and brandishes him a second yellow card and he is SENT OFF! Porto will have to play the remaining hour of this Champions League Final with only 10 MEN.

35th Min: A Micaelense attack is broken down as Emerson intercepts a pass and he passes the ball forward to his Porto teammate Vietto at the halfway line. Vietto plays a wonderful one-two with Garre before playing the ball to Emerson deep in the Micaelense half. Emserson plays a wonderful throughball to put Garre through on goal and Garre fires the ball across goal and its past the Micaelense keeper and into the bottom left hand corner of the net. GOAL FOR FC PORTO, 0-1.

43rd Min: Attack for FC Porto as Yarmolenko plays the ball to Soares down the left wing. Soares tries to cut back to setup a cross but he is tripped by Micaelense's defensive midfielder Carlos Roberto and Porto have a free kick. Its Garre to take the free kick for Porto and he floats the ball into the boc and Guevara rises above everybody and his header finds the back of the net. GOAL TO FC PORTO, 0-2

45th +1 Min: Tkemaladze intercepts a Porto pass in the centre of the park and he quickly passes the ball forward to put Kouadio through down the right wing. Kouadio plays to ball back to Carlos Roberto and Micaelense pass the ball around the edge of the area before Tkemaladze runs into the box and passes to Kouadio on the corner of the 6 yard box and he shoots first time, GOAL FOR MICAELENSE, 1-2, they pull 1 back with almost the final kick of the first half.

Half Time: Porto are down to 10 men but lead Micaelense 2-1.

45th Min: Porto start the second half of the Champions League Final.

46th Min: Clayton takes a throw in for Micaelense on the halfway line and Ginga passes the ball forward to Souza who passes the ball first time to Jansson near the corner of the penalty area. Jansson's possesion pulls one of the Porto central defenders across to him and he then slides the ball into the newly opened space in the penalty area for the on rushing Souza to pick up and shoot first time past the keeper and into the top left hand corner of the net. GOAL FOR MICAELENSE, 2-2.

51st Min: Micaelense are passing the ball all aorund the centre of the part pulling the Porto players out of position trying to find an opening. Carlos Roberto passes sideways to Ginga who plays it forward to Souza who spots the run of the full back Clayton down the left wing and Souza plays a throughball to Clayton on the corner of the penalty area who takes a few touches before shooting across the goalkeeper trying to find the opposite corner of the net and he does exactly that. GOAL FOR MICAELENSE, 3-2.

57th Min: Porto Attack down the left wing with Yarmolenko who runs past Tkemaladze but he is held back by the Micaelense right back. YELLOW CARD for Tkemaladze who will miss the next European fixture.

68th Min: Porto make their first sub as right winger Garre is replaced with left winger Costa as Yarmolenko switches wings.

69th Min: Attack for Micaelense as Tkemaladze runs down the right wing and crosses the ball into the 6 yard box as Kouadio controls the ball and shoots across goal beating the keeper and finding the bottom corner. GOAL FOR MICAELENSE, 4-2.

70th Min: Double sub for Porto as right back Evandro is replaced with Diaz and centre back Quintero is replaced with central midfielder Echeverria as Porto look to get back in the game.

76th Min: Clayton brings the ball forward toward the halfway line down the left hand side of the pitch and is brought down by Yarmolenko who picks up a YELLOW CARD.

77th Min: Micaelense make their first sub of the game as Ginga leaves the field to be replaced with fresher legs in the form of Junior.

80th Min: Throw-in to Porto near the corner flag. Costa tries a long throw into the box but it is cleared by Micaelense centre back Saad. The ball is picked up by Emerson who plays it forward to Costa who crosses the ball into Yarmolenko who gets a glancing header to force the ball across towards the opposite corner but it takes a defelection to deceive the Micaelense keeper and 10 man Porto have pulled a goal bakc to force a thrilling finish to this Final. GOAL FOR PORTO, 4-3.

85th Min: Poto have the ball in the centre of the park and Emerson runs forward but is tripped by Van Steensel. Freekick to Porto and YELLOW CARD for Van Steensel.

89th Min: Freekick for Porto near the halfway line. Costa launches the freekick into the box trying to find one of the many onrushing Porto players but the ball is won in the air by Saad but Clayton is pushed over by Porto's Vietto and Micaelense get a freekick and Vietto picks up a YELLOW CARD.

90th +2 Min: Costa brings the ball forward down the left wing and looks to cross the ball into the box but Micaelense right back Tkemaladze slides in but mistimes his challenge and brings down Costa. Freekick to Porto and the referee is calling over Tkemaladze who has already picked up a yellow card and the referee shows him a second yellow card and Tkemaladze is SENT OFF and we are down to 10 men each in this Champions League Final.

90th +3 Min: Second sub for Micaelense as Striker Jansson is brought off to be replaced by right back Zeballos to fill the void left with the sending off of Tkemaladze.

90th +4 Min: Emerson takes the freekick and crosses the ball into the 6 yard box but its too high for anybody to get on the end of it and it goes behind for a goal kick but the referee has blown his whistle to bring this thrilling match to an end at 4-3.

Hi guys!! been a long time... Life has gone crazy for me as my daughter was born on the 10th July and as a result i haven't had time to come on this thread or even load my Le Mans save for about a month. Hopefully i'll get a bit of free time soon and i can load up the game again.

Ohanzee - you're making great progress on your save.

StellaF1 - congratulations on your completion!! always good to see another completion.

seems the thread has gone a little quiet though but that does tend to happen at this time of year as FM15 starts to loom on the horizon.

Congrats duccio & StellaF1 to complete the challenge! Good work :applause:!

I'm still on my RW Essen save but hadn't the time in the past 2 months to post anything.

Hope i can post an update this week :).

AS Cannes

A new beginning

With a new season closing by, manager Andy Sava picked AS Cannes for his new adventure in this edition of Football Manager.

As Cannes was one of the founding members of the French first division, finishing second in the first season. The biggest achievement of Cannes was winning the French Cup in 1932. Even though their last season in League 1 was 1997-1998 they gave France some of their biggest football stars. Zinedine Zidane, Patrick Vieira, Sebastian Frey played for AS Cannes.

Now it's time to see if another star will rise and take the club back where it should be.

Congrats dude that is great news. Great month to be born in as well (is a crazy month in my family, Nephew, Niece, Myself, Daughter and Wife all have birthdays in a 3 week period).

Enjoy Fatherhood, and as always real life comes first. (A huge part of what I love about this thread and the group who post here). My own daughter just turned 4, we bought a house, been a crazy 2 months, but now it's crazy to think this time next year my daughter will be in school (I remember when she was 3-4 months old and her sitting on my knee while I played Football Manager :p)

Thanks a lot! She is certainly taking up most of my time away from work at the moment but that doesn't matter. Priorities. Is your daughter 4 already?? i remember her being born and i am sure you posted a pic of her watching while you played... Crazy. I think i need to work out how to wear the baby carrier so i can strap her on and fire up the game!

Time flies, right. She turned 4 in July, it's crazy turning into this little personality. They do take a lot of time, but that is all worthf it.

Parla - season 2014/15

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

First season in Spain, managing Parla. It wasn't a season so bad as a 15th place seems to indicate, but a record of 0-4-6 in the last 10 matches took us out of the mid table, where we were for most part of the season.

The squad has quality, I don't need many players as the schedule is not very demanding, but I'll try to get in a handful of players for next season.

But it was a great Cup year so i'm very proud of my team.

Overview

Information

Finances

A little lost this year but its okay.

Squad

Anderson and Marin were injured all over the season so they performed not like expected.

Ximo replaced Anderson very well and had an average rating of 7.20.

My RECORD Signing Ramiro Coceres was in the Team of the Year. A great Signing!

My both wingers Borowski (21 Scorer) & Lanzini (23 Scorer) had also a great season.

And Max Favalli, who concerned 59 goals last season, has 14 clean sheets! His "luck" that Garrido get injured at the begin of the season.

Marco Summer was loaned and was the top goalscorer in the 2.Bundesliga!

Transfers

A very active transfer window. After the average last season i need new and fresh players so i sold a lot of players.

And the first time i buyed a player for more then 2 mio. Coceres is with 7,5 Mio my new record signing but it was a good buy!

Youth

Nothing special in my youth intake this year...

Parla - season 2015/16

League | Squad | Transfers | Finances

Basically the same as last season, no improvement at all, just 3 more points than the previous campaign.

The best thing this season was a board election in which the new board has taken a loan to clear us off the debt, and I even managed to improve the junior coaching.

Hacettepe Spor

Hacettepe Spor is a club which had seen a rapid rise from the depths of Turkish Football to the Super Lig with three promotions between the 2003/04 and the 2006/07 seasons, the clubs stay in the top flight was however brief with them getting relegated in their second season, this lead to three successive relegations and Hacettepe Spor fell out of the Turkish football league.

And now, with the appointment of a young and ambitious new manager the supporters hope that the club can return to what it once was.

Well done, gb2003 looks like you had a really good season, hopefully you can do just as well next year and maybe even sneak into the europa league :) and Tomasz Kaminski looks like he could become a very impressive player if thats what he looks like at 15!

Thanks!

Kaminski get the first apps in my new season and the Euro League is a great experience. I have a little run but "later" more about my EL experience. Doesn't want to tell too much :).

League doesn't run so well, too many draws so far and a mid-table position but my new Striker arriving after the winterbreak. I'm confident to get better results with him.

I wish you good luck in Turkey!

Well I have pre-ordered FM15, have also started working on updating the beginning posts, a bit of work to do for me there as I was slack for the last two seasons (But if anyone thinks of something to add look through the first 4-5 posts that I made in this thread and see what could be added) => Will completely update this thread as best I can in the next month or so as it makes it easier when I need to put the new version out.

Hacettepe Spor

2014/15

The League

The season started off as I had expected it to be and after 7 or so games we were hovering around the last relegation spot and our form wasn't looking great winning just 1 of the opening 7 games of the season, but towards the end of October I decided to change the tactics we were using and i moved from a 4-3-3 to a 4-4-2 with a DM and a packed center. This change seemed to improve things a huge amount and the team started playing at a much higher standard and more importantly putting points on the board as we went thee next six matches unbeaten and only dropped points in a 4-4 draw with eventual bottom place club Şekerspor. There was a slight wobble in late January and early February going 4 or 5 games without a win before picking ourselves up and going on a run that saw only 7 points dropped of a possible 33 which saw the team finish the league in 3rd and go into the play-offs.

In the first round of play-offs we drew Bayrampaşa who finished a point below us in the league, with the first leg being the away game it was vital that we got a goal or two to really put pressure on the opposition in the second leg. A 3-0 away win made it virtually impossible for our opposition to come past us to qualify so I opted to play the 2nd leg more conservatively to save some of the lads legs for the next round and with a 1-1 draw at home we were into the Play-off semi-finals.

The Semi-Final saw us come up against Nazilli Bld. a team that finished the season a point and a place higher than us in the league, in the first leg I went for it using the logic of if I can get a 2 or 3 goal lead now then we will be in charge of the next leg, this tactic payed off with a 4-1 win at home and put us in the driving seat for the 2nd leg which we managed to win 2-1 after coming back from a goal behind.

We were 90 minutes and a good performance away from promotion and greatly exceeding anyone's expectations of the season but Fethiyespor, relegated just the season before and looking for an instant return stood in our way. After looking at their team it became apparent that their team was a huge improvement on my own but I went into the game hopeful because after all this is football and shocks do happen. My team looked the more threatening of the two from the off with shots going close in the first few minutes of the game and then Okan Sari grabbed a goal in the 9th minute of the game and then we sat back and tried to withstand the attacks. At half time it was still 1-0 and I sent the team back out with the instructions to keep possession and not to play any silly passes and we controlled the 2nd half even though we didn't manage to put the ball in the back of the net again and walked out 1-0 victors. :)

Overview | League Table | Graph

Türkiye Kupasi

We managed to get to the 3rd qualifying round which is a little better than it sounds but I still don't really understand the cup structure so I'll get back to you about it in future seasons.

Fixtures

Finances

A profit of about £500,000 which was nice but in no small part down to a few transfers which i'll talk about in a little bit.

Oh, and the club decided to buy 37,000 new seats for the ground and with this years average attendance at a staggering 453 that seems like a sensible way of spending £4.5m :(

Squad

The whole squad played much better than I was expecting but a few that were especially good were Mücahit Atalay, Caner Yilmaz and Doğan Çift.

Mücahit Atalay was brought in at the beginning of the season on a free because the keepers that were at the club before were, well just awful. He played in all 43 matched that we were involved in this season and kept 17 clean sheets in that time 15 of those being in the league taking him to joint top of the clean sheets list.

Caner Yilmaz is one of the few players that were at the club before I took over to keep playing regularly, he was out on loan last season and although not being the best player in the squad if you loo at his stats when he played he played really well picking up 11 goals from 31 starts at center mid.

Doğan Çift was probably our best performing striker until he broke his leg in May scoring every other game on average. He has however broken his leg which rules him out for up to 6 months and in that time I feel that the club will grow to a point that he isn't of any use so he may well end up sitting out the remainder of his contract in the reserves or on the bench at best.

Transfers

I was really fortunate that the club had 2 players in the Under 19's that had potential to be good Super Lig. players in the winter transfer window they were both attracting attention and I managed to move Gökhan Cengiz on for 150k and 50% of any future sale which I think is a very good deal considering he didn't really fit into the team after I changed tactics.

One other transfer that is worth mentioning even though it hasn't gone through yet is that of Çağlar Önsal, another youngster with a lot of potential but no place in my current tactic. He'll be going out for 100k and 50% of any future sale after only one season at the club after arriving on a free.

Youth

Disappointing is not the word to describe my youth intake this year, my best player had the potential to be a decent 3. Lig. (the one below where we play now) player so I've not signed anyone but may look towards some younger players in the window.

Next Season

Although I'm very happy that we have achieved promotion I fear that It may have come a season too early for some of my players and this may force me into bringing in more players that i'd like to and I might end up with a total squad overhaul rather than the gradual development I would like.

I'll be looking to strengthen up front mainly during the transfer window but some new full backs and maybe a center back wouldn't go a miss but i'll wait to see what comes up and i'd quite like to pick up some teenagers with the potential to be Super Lig. players to add to what I already have with Soner Dikmen and Abdülkerim Temür as I look to take advantage of the clubs youth facilities.

For some reason it won't let me take Doğan Çift and Çağlar Önsal but i'll work on that.

The expectations were not that high at the start of the season. At most i was expecting a mid-table finish as we were finishing the first half of the season that was where we were heading. After a great season start Yaya Diane got injured and we went on a 6 games streak without winning (4 consecutive defeats). After that we got our form back and did an incredible sprint towards 3rd place, which we managed to get in the end. An incredible achievement for a first season. Hopefully we won't get relegated next season.

Nuova Cosenza - Season 2031-32

Italian Super Cup

The traditional season opener started with an end to end game that ended with Juventus reduced to nine men. Even with that advantage we couldn't get the winning goal until the 121st minute, when Maddox got away from the defence and gave us the win.

Juventus 3-4 Cosenza AET

UEFA Champions League

Our good performance in the Europa League moved us up to pot 2, and we were drawn against Dutch champions Twente, Russian runners-up Zenit and, for the third time in three Champions League attempts, Manchester United.

We took an early lead at Old Trafford, as Maddox fired in against his former club from a Panayotov free-kick. Defensive errors reveresed the lead, but we equalised through Gabric early in the second half. Unfortuantely Markus Hamann made an awful pass in the 66th minute allowing United to grab a winner. The German defender attoned for his error in the next match, heading in the only goal of the game against Twente.

Despite conceding an early goal at home to Zenit, we recovered to lead by half time thanks to a Meisel header and a powerful Gabric shot from the edge of the area. Maddox added a third in the second half, before playing a great ball through to Gabric to make it 4. The return fixture in Russia saw less excitement, with a 1-1 draw being secured by

that won Champions League goal of the season.

Spanish superstar Marc gave Man United the lead against us, but a solo run from Maddox gave him the opportunity to level. Marc stuck again, but a long ball from Hamann was missed by the Man United defence and Maddox levelled in the 93rd minute. Against Twente in the final game, Romana gave us a lead in the second half, and scored a second late on shortly after Twente equalised. Marro confirmed the win late on. We finished the group in second place.

The knockout rounds drew us against English champions Chelsea. We condeaded early on in the first leg at San Vito, but Chelsea were reduced to ten men with Ding Kun elbowing Tibor Toth. Early in the second half Romana gave us an equaliser, and Cech gave us the lead in the 70th minute. Chelsea unfortunately quickly got an equaliser, and had a significant advantage thanks to away goals. We struggled to create any opportunities at Stamford Bridge, and our elimination was confirmed with a third Chelsea goal late on.

Group C: Man Utd 3-2 Cosenza | Cosenza 1-0 Twente | Cosenza 4-1 Zenit | Zenit 1-1 Cosenza | Cosenza 2-2 Man Utd | Twente 1-3 Cosenza | Group C

Cosenza 2-3 Chelsea

Serie A

Target: Champions League

As I mentioned earlier, I won the league before a hard drive failure. Oddly, in this second attempt I got one point more than when I won the league. Unfortunately, Juventus got ten, as a mid-season slump utterly failed to materialise this time. Despite us only losing one game in the whole of 2032, Juventus established too big a lead early on. Another second place.

H: 15-4-0 (48-19)

A: 9-5-5 (35-27)

Italian Cup

A quiet start against Palermo, with Meisel getting a goal in extra time to give us the win. An away match against Juventus seemed tricky, but a Maddox double brought us through to what seemed an easier tie against Ascoli. In the first leg we struggled, only drawing despite an early penalty, but we did better in the second leg, with a Cela header from a corner, a Cech header from a free-kick and a Romana curving shot from the edge of the area putting us through to the final.

A final against Udinese then, and Wigg gave us an early lead that Udinese cancelled out with a header in the second half. As usual with our finals, it went to extra time, and this time would be settled on penalties. The first two were missed, but we kept scoring as Udinese missed one crucial penalty. Michel Onana took the final penalty to allow us to retain the Italian cup.

Cosenza 1-0 Palermo AET

Juventus 0-2 Cosenza

Ascoli 1-4 Cosenza

Udinese 1-1 Cosenza (Cosenza won 4-2 on penalties)

Hacettepe Spor

2015/16

The League

I went into the season quite pessimistic but it soon became apparent that although there was still reason to be slightly concerned it was going to be nowhere near as big a task to survive as I first thought. As the league wore on I was becoming more and more positive about the season and by the half way point I was sat just a few points off the final Play-off spot and that was looking much closer to where going to end up come the end of the season. A 9 match unbeaten run that lasted the entirety of January combined with almost every team around us having a poor run propelled us to the top of the league with about a dozen games to go but as always it wasn't going to be that simple and my team started to self-destruct dropping points to 5 or 6 of the bottom teams in the league and looking like dropping out of the play-offs but in the end we managed to scrape together enough points to finish 5th and although if you offered me that at the start of the season i'd take it without thinking twice I can't help but feel we could have crept into the top 2 and secured automatic promotion.

A 5th place finish left us once again in the play-offs and our fist match was against Gaziantep Bld. a team that had been in the top 2 for most of the season, we had won and lost 1-0 to the in the regular season so I went into the games expecting them to be close and once again they were both decided by one goal, fortunately both results were in our favor and we advanced into the Play-off Final 2-0 on aggregate.

K.Maraşspor waited for us in the final after their 3-2 aggregate win over Balikesirspor. We started off really well with a goal in the 5th minute and we continued to play well and we managed a second goal in the 60th to go 2-0 up but that lead was short lived and we conceded just 4 minutes later and I thought it was going to get a lot worse as not long after they had another disallowed but in the end we had just enough about us to get over the line and secure back to back promotions to the Super Lig.

Overview | League Table | Graph |

Türkiye Kupasi

Again we made it to the 3rd qualifying round and were knocked out by a Super Lig. team

Fixtures

Finances

Another hugely profitable season mainly due to the leagues TV deals leaving us with a profit of around £1.5m for the season.

Squad

As a whole the team played well for the entire season but as always there were one or two who stood out from the rest.

Mücahit Atalay was once again an ever present in the starting XI making 39 appearances in all competitions and keeping 10 clean sheets in the process.

Caner Yilmaz once again proved that he was one of the more talented players at the club with 9 goals and 9 assists in 29 games with 10 man of the match awards, the most in the league.

Abdülkerim Temür although he hasn't been a stand out performer this season he has made a remarkable improvement making himself one of the first names on the team sheet and taking his first steps onto the international scene getting a few caps for Turkey Under 19's. I predict big things for this lad in the future.

Transfers

The main transfer was going out with Çağlar Önsal leaving for 100k which paved the way for the improvements that the squad needed. The pick of the in's was Feyyaz Aydil, he was one of our top performers but he picked up lengthy injury in February which coincided with our slump in form.

One transfer I've already wrapped up is that of Nils Halvor Thoresen a 19 year old Norwegian Striker who has 6 Under 21 caps for his country and looks like he could be a top player in a few years time so i'll be giving him plenty of time on the pitch.

Youth

The youth intake was really good this year with all bar 4 players having the potential to be leading 1.Lig. players or better with the pick of them being Sefa Yüksel who may well feature in the first team at some point next season.

Next Season

I'm not going to bother predicting where I might finish next year because I've been so far off the mark in the last two seasons it's unreal so i'm just going to say anything that isn't relegation is good for me. :)

As for transfer targets a new center back and left back will be top of the list and depending on who is available an experienced striker would be useful.

So I said I was going to ask for some help, so what I need is Players - that is star players and possible legends from previous games, whether that is FM12, 13 or 14, or if you think someone from 2008-2011 is missing from this list:

I have a star player i would like to nominate from my FM12 save with Kiel.

Lucas Roa

I don't have a screenshot of his history so i had to gather all his data from my reports in the fm12 thread. He is probably the best player i had on a FM team. The screenshot is from the season i completed the challenge.

From the FM14 Kassel save i don't have anyone worthy of hall of fame, in my opinion.

Have fun in Italy LLR!
