fayon Posted May 8, 2013 Share Posted May 8, 2013 The idea is to use the same method as O'Leary's Trainee with his OLT Expanded Hair Pack v3.0 to replace the facegen hair but instead, replacing them with people faces that were not in the game, just as Rowan's Regen Replacements (Cut-Out Style). I found a pack in FM Korea that did the same thing with around 1.000 different faces. I couldn't find the page again by myself but I downloaded the pack and uploaded it if you want (LINK). This pack has a background on the new regen faces, as seen below: I mantained the structure of this pack and replaced their faces with Rowan's (and other cutters from sortitoutsi). So every regen has a face of a person not in the game. Like this: Download v1.0 (1.008 faces) Download v1.1 (13.868 faces) (Mediafire) (MEGA) Installation: -Backup your hair folder from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2016\data\facegen\hair -Delete it and extract the new hair folder there -Regen faces should be replaced upon loading the game Issues: 1.-Not all faces cover all the real regen face on the background, so sometimes you can see a part of the original regen ears for example. When i have time i resize the replacement faces so they can cover the regen, but it takes time. Solution: If you don't want to see the original regen showing behind the cut out delete these files and restart the game D:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Football Manager 2016\data\facegen\little_endian\model_sets\default\face\facehi.png and eyelhi.png and eyerhi.png 2.-This pack lacks of asian faces compared to other ethnicities. Solution: Contribute with more cut-outs (http://sortitoutsi.net/forums/topic/350/regen-replacement-images). You can use this website to mix and generate new faces: https://photofunia.com/effects/face_swap Is one of the best I have found. 3.-Faces not showing or bald regen. Solution: I think this bug is solved in FM16 Even though the quantity of the faces in the pack improved greatly (1.008 in v1.0 vs. 13.868 in v1.1), the quality is not that good, so I think the next update will be a depuration, cutting down the number. If someone would like to collaborate (adding better cut out faces, resizing, fixing collars, removing snow or adding asian players) is very welcome. If maybe to buy or collect thousands or hundreds of standard human faces is too expensive for SI to consider, I think a best solution would be to use a software capable of mixing up a stock of faces features (eyes, noses, hair, etc). Altough these frankesteins regens could look odd, they will look better because they will be based on real faces, not computarized ones. This file has to date around 2000 downloads, so i think maybe we are a minority to SI to consider us, but the game would be so much enjoyable in the long run than now with an improvement in this area, and it doesn't seem to be very expensive at first sight. It was stopped because people were abusing the facility, leaving SI staff to have to sift through hundreds of pictures of trees/porn/goats/elderly people to find usable ones. Im not sure if you have seen it, but facegen on Out of the Park Baseball is great. It uses facegen for current players and looks good. When you have a mixture of real pics and facegen it looks poor. It would be good if FM could do facegen pics for players like OOTP does. It would also look good when players move and use their new teams strip (OOTP does close up of face only or a zoomed out view with part of the uniforms showing). I just installed this and thought I should reply for anyone trying in the future. You have to clear your cache for it to work. My players were bald when I restarted, but if you go into preferences and then interface you can click the clear cache button.
