We have been knocked out of the Suomen cup in the quater finals on penalties by MYPA but how the hell did we not win that game . They had one shot over 120 mins and they are in the semis, unbelievable Jeff. We sit top of the table after seven games, we have won six and lost one and we are two points clear of FC Honka and KuPS. Another four players have asked for transfers to move to bigger clubs and morale is at a alltime low, I don't know what more I can do to keep them here and might be forced to sell them unfortunately. I think our league repuatation is really hurting us as well as League One is classed as a better standard of league than the Veikkausliiga, the last time I looked at our club reputation we had just broke into the top 100 clubs in Europe at number 99. FC Honka are just behind us in second place and look like they will be our title rivals this season, it seems it's a different team each season that challenges us for the title and the team that finished 2nd the next year do nothing. We are also through to the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League after beating Latvian's FK Ventspils in the 2nd qualifying round, we will play Maccabi Haifa of Israel. We are now through to the Champions league group stages again after beating Maccabi Haifa and Anorthosi in the qualifying rounds. Hopefully we will finally get a decent group that we can qualify from. In the Veikkausliiga we had a poor showing with three draws in games I was forced to play the backup players due to our games in the Champions League. My hopes for a decent group have been shot down in flames, we have to play Real Madrid, Schalke and Benfica, I really can't see us picking up any points from this group, ah well theres always next year . A great start to our Champions League group as we beat Germans Schalke 2-1 with young striker Joni Rintala scoring both goals for us. We are looking good to add our fourth Veikkausliiga whilst I have been in charge. We are 12 points clear of TPS with 2 games inhand still and we only play 33 league games in a season. Two fantastic performances and results in the Champions league against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu and Benfica at Tammelan, see's us top our group stage after 3 games with 7 points, now that's something I didn't expect in this group . We finish the season off in spectacular fashion as we hammer Schalke 7-0 at the Veltins Arena and followed it up with a 2-0 win over Real Madrid at home to knock out the Spanish giants alongside the Germans. We have had a great 2017 after winning both the Veikkausliiga and the Liigacup and also making it past the Champions League group stages. The Veikkausliiga is becoming incredibly easier now with the squad I have assembled and it's only going to get easier, so the challenge for me is to win something in Europe, whether that's the Champions League or the Europa League but I still think we are a couple of seasons away from be able to do that, but who knows what can happen with a little bit of luck. We were knocked out of the Suomen cup at the quater final stage after losing to MYPA on penalties. We have been given a good transfer budget for this season but our wage budget has more than doubled which I am very happy about, it means we can sign some much better players in time for our Champions league match against Manchester United. I am really excited about three of our new signings Stephen Dunn, Wang Congyi and Mohapi Muso all are quality players with a lot of room for improvement still. Our Champions League journey keeps on getting better, we have knocked out AC Milan on away goals in the quater finals and in the first leg of our semi final we won 3-1, so it's all to play for at Stamford Bridge. May was a very busy month for us but lets start with the Champions League, we lost 4-2 to Chelsea on the night but won the tie on away goals to send Ilves to the Champions League final were we would play moneybags Manchester City. Like I had done in the previous knockout rounds I opted to play counter attacking football as I knew Man City would dominate us if I was foolish enough to try and attack them. We only managed 4 shots at goal in 120 minutes of football and in a one sided game we shocked the world by becoming champions of Europe. We had a good month winning all bar one of our games in the Veikkausliiga and have kept five clean sheets in a row after deciding to keep the counter attack strategy I usually play in the Champions League games in all our games now. We have signed two players of real quality in the August transfer window first Juan Iturbe who I wanted when he left Porto on a free transfer but he wasn't intrested in joining us then but as soon as he became intrested I decided to buyout his minimum fee release clause of £1.2m. I also signed another South African from Orlando Pirates Paulo Tshabalala, the left back will challenge Jonathan Greenlees for the starting left back spot for now but he should make that spot his own in time. We let our back up left back Marvin Kalala leave when Rosenborg came in with a £1m offer as he would of been third choice left back after the arrival of Paulo Tshabalala. You can guarantee now in our next game we will conceed and/or not win our next game. We won the European Super cup after beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 . We have been given another tough draw in the Champions League but we play two of the teams we knocked out in last seasons competition in Chelsea and Schalke. We had one win and one loss in our Champions League group, first we beat Greeks Olympiacos in Greece and then we got hammered off Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. We finish the season off in style as we win all of our remaining Champions League group games to finish in top spot in the group . We have drawn Arsenal in the 1st knockout round which will be played in February. We are now the best club in the World after winning the Fifa Club World cup that was being held in the famous Estadio Azteca in Mexico. The only thing holding us back now is the Veikkausliiga's poor reputation compared to other top divisions across Europe and thats due to the Finnish clubs poor results in both European club competitions. Jan Horava joins from Viktoria Plzen for £1.4m, I think I have over paid for him but he will be retrained to be able to play at AMC and will be a backup player at first but he has a lot of room for improvement. Tomas Havlicek joins from Sparta Prague for £2m, he will be retrained to be able to play at DMC and he will be a key player in the Deep Lying Playmaker role. Giorgos Konstantinou joins from Paralimni for £800k, he's another one for the future and he is a natural in four different positions so he gives us great versitility. Quite a few players have left the club on free transfers but we did sell Kristian Kokko to Rosenborg for £2.5m which isn't too bad for a squad/backup player. Our run in the Champions League goes on as we have knocked out German heavyweights Bayern Munich, which setup the Manchester United tie in the Semi final in which we are leading the tie 2-0 after the first leg. We only played one league game in April which was a easy 3-0 win away to our local rivals Haka. A backup side thrashed non league side Ekenas IF 7-0 in the Suomen cup 7th round. We are through to our second Champions League final after we hung on to a 0-0 draw against a nine man Manchester United in a truely awful game. We play the mighty Barcelona in the final which is being held at the Camp Nou, so Barcelona will have the home advantage. A perfect month for us in the Veikkausliiga puts us in 2nd place behind FC Honka, although we have a game inhand over them.
