Cycstorm
After years of waiting, I have finally managed on FM13 to discover and mold a truly world class superstar (my first ever - yay me!). This young man is a 24-year-old AMC in the role of AP. He has twice won World Player of the Year, and has just now wrestled the Ballon d'Or from Messi's vice like grip. That said, despite the twinkle toes he somehow manages to get booked in EVERY. SINGLE. MATCH. very often inside the first 15 minutes. His tackling is 11, his aggression is 12, and his bravery is 6. I am constantly having to sub him off at about 75 minutes, terrified that he will clatter into somebody in the closing minutes and get a red. Is there anything I can do about this? mbchuz
Change his individual instructions in your tactics, most notably Tackling -> Easy.
fmFutbolManager
What are his instructions? Do you change anything manually? What are your team instructions? Check his individual instructions, I wouldn't mind betting he is set to tight marking. This could be causing him to be getting caught out and mistiming tackles. Think Scholes... jujigatame
I doubt that the default setting for Advanced Playmaker is tight marking. He might have a low rating in a hidden attribute like professionalism. Setting him specifically to easy tackling could be the way to go.
Soverntear
AMC AP's are set to tight mark, change tight marking and his tackling.
fmFutbolManager
I doubt that the default setting for Advanced Playmaker is tight marking. You might want to go and check the AP player settings then
mexamoxa
What's his personality? I'd wager he has low temperament and sportsmanship as well as high dirtiness.
jujigatame
You might want to go and check the AP player settings then Duly noted, my good man.
Cycstorm
What's his personality?I'd wager he has low temperament and sportsmanship as well as high dirtiness. Resolute personality, Determined Team personality. I'll check the marking and tackling instructions and see if that fixes it.
WizbaII
Yes, he could have high Dirtiness, but it could also be the tackling and marking instructions. I can't imagine a world-class player having low Professionalism.
Administrators Neil Brock Posted February 22, 2013 Administrators Share Posted February 22, 2013 Yes, he could have high Dirtiness, but it could also be the tackling and marking instructions. I can't imagine a world-class player having low Professionalism. Ha, George Best, Ronaldo and Rivaldo all say hello.
edgar555
Is he always getting booked for bad tackles? Or is he picking up cards for diving?
Cycstorm
It's tackles, far as I can tell. He's a dribbling specialist but he very rarely goes down.
SeanNUFC
Try putting him on easy/normal tackling?
Cycstorm
I've changed his tackling and marking instructions. I'll see what that does.

duduric
Well, that would relate more with Dirtiness than Professionalism......
andrew bowditch
2002 World Cup against Turkey. I remember him being violently assaulted by the match ball.
cruiseee
I remember him being violently assaulted by the match ball. The sheer force of the ball smashing into his legs was so great that it sent a shockwave through his body up to his head, which explains why he was holding his face. Calvincito
Yeah, I know about the murderball that chewed it's way up from his knee to his face, but I wouldn't think of that as lack of professionalism
pigfacemonkeyman
Although hardly professional, it would be more down to Sportsmanship and a very poor Acting attribute.
ting2004
Ha, George Best, Ronaldo and Rivaldo all say hello. Joey Barton, or should I say Joseph Barton THINKS he's world class, we all know better.
