[FM13] Caribbean Leagues Megaback v.5.2 (final build)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Please do not upload this file elsewhere - link to this page (not the file directly)

I have mostly completed my task - I hope you enjoy the work as follows. I've stopped short of making all nations, but this should ensure you have a properly competitive Caribbean league experience at both national and international levels. This pack includes;

Special Thanks to Etzella and MotoClub for doing excellent work on the Suriname and French Antilles files respectively

Rebuilt North American Continental competitions using the advanced editor, with the CFU and CONCACAF Champions league (the latter with the new format).

Etzella's ACS Tournament (Bonaire are sadly not a nation in the game) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABCS_Tournament

MotoClub's Copa Guyana http://www.rsssf.com/tablesg/guyanescup.html

Sadly not made;

Dominica

Sint Maarten

British Virgin Islands

US Virgin Islands

Cayman Islands

Turks and Caicos Islands

Issues;

I can't figure out why awards won't be given out in Anguilla, The Bahamas, and Puerto Rico (I had this problem with them last year), so my apologies for that (Bug report: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/329414-Awards-not-being-given-offered-in-certain-nations)

Nearly all Saint-Martin, Guadeloupean, and Martiniquean players declare for France (bug report: http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/328859-Saint-Martin-Players), this is partially fixed in the latest patch though

Warning

Without the Fixes file, all created clubs will have him as their Chairman/manager and Santos from Brazil will enter the CFU club championship.

Essential Information

You should select "add key staff" and "add players to playable teams" as I've not been able to add players for many of the nations (or indeed staff)

You must load All files for a working CFU, otherwise there'll be a crash - you don't have to select the leagues as playable, just choose to load the data files

I also suggest you load all players from the nations you're going to manage, otherwise it can be quite hard!

It might be worth holidaying for a year in order for the game to sort itself out.

FAQ

What do the editor files contain?

All databases have teams, cities for each team, appropriate stadiums, awards for player of the year, young player of the year, manager of the year, and top goalscorer of the year, prize money for all competitions (where possible accurate info) and where possible appropriate kits. Nations also have some basic rivalries (to make national-team management more interesting), and also transfer preferences and knowledge. A number of the nations (who lacked players) have had a number of players added to them. Except Trinidad and Tobago (see below)

What do you mean 'appropriate'

No kits = an army of blue-white teams, so I follow a three step solution

1) try desperately to find the kits online, be it verbal description or image (this takes forever - I started editing the day of release)

2) Failing that, create a kit that mirrors the club crest

3) Failing that, assign the club a shirt colour that makes semi-sense

I definitely understand opposition to stage 3, but having all clubs in blue seems a much worse alternative than a (very small) number of clubs having colours that might not be true to the club (the default blue is unlikely to be true either)

What's special about Trinidad and Tobago?

I have over 10,000 edits for T&T, including the whole first-team squads for the pro league, all clubs in all recognised leagues in the T&T pyramid, and have tweaked their reputation a little. Please see this thread for its development; http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/327101-FM13-Complete-Trinidad-and-Tobago-League-Structure-WIP . It's held back only by an editor bug which makes promotion/relegation to regional leagues impossible.

Can I help?

If there's a nation you love, then please feel free to add players and staff. For a player/staff to be entered, you need their birthday, nationality, and name - that's it. Without a birthday they are utterly random, just put 0's in the "attributes" tab instead of 10's. For CA/PA, -5 is a good PA figure (70-100 PA) and doesn't break the database, although smaller nations will find -4 more appropriate, -6 for créme-de-la-créme of the National team (90-120) and for special talents do any number below that (-7 to -9). For CA, if they are in the national team then put them on the lower-end of the NT scale (since if they were at the upper end they'd be in the game! For example, Guyana had values from 60 to 100 on average in NT, so when I added players to them, they all hovered around 60, same for Puerto Rico).

What are the mentioned editor constraints?

Haiti - Opening/Closing stages not possible with basic editor

Saint-Martin - 4 points for a win, 2 for draw and 1 for loss not possible (this is the standard in the old French Antilles)

Guadeloupe - 4 points for a win, 2 for draw and 1 for loss not possible (this is the standard in the old French Antilles)

Jamaica - can't do the final round split

Martinique - 4 points for a win, 2 for draw and 1 for loss not possible (this is the standard in the old French Antilles), also due to editor bugs can't make Prémier Division playoff winner, which means Trophée du Conseil Général can't be set up properly either (has a qualifying stage)

Saint Vincent.... - Clubs often play both Premier League and regional league within a season which isn't possible to recreate

Trinidad & Tobago - can't do the final round split

What is the format of the CFU Club Championship?

Every nation gets two places for their two best-placed teams in the league, and the three playing in the US also get added (total 63). Then it flows as follows;

Qualifying round (30 teams)

First Round (48 teams in total (15 from previous, 33 added)

Group Stage (6 groups of 4, first and two best runner-up qualifies for Quarter Finals)

Quarter Finals (8)

Semi Finals (4) - From here onwards a host nation is picked to host the matches - this follows the precedent followed in the previous CFU Club Championships.

Third Place Playoff - winner gets to go to CONCACAF champs league

Final - both finalists go to CONCACAF Champs league

Why hosting? Who can Host?

Hosting was seemingly introduced to cut costs in the CFU, and as another consequence the games were played within a week. I've recreated this in the semi finals and finals. Host nations are picked randomly between the nations with the best infrastructure (T&T, Jamaica, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Guyana (I've possibly forgotten some)

Why does each nation get two teams?

In the basic editor, I can specify that the best X ranked nations get a number of slots, but in the advanced editor I can't see a way of doing that. This way, if you want to make Aruba world beaters you aren't always stuck with just one spot.

Why did you both with the Advanced Editor?

To make a 3rd place playoff... That's literally the only reason to navigate that beast

Can you tell me how to access the advanced editor?

No, absolutely not.

Why do Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have so many edits?

I got carried away... When editor bugs are fixed I'll have all the regional leagues running

Why can't I manage a team in the 2nd Division Lambert Thomas Zone of Barbados?

This zone has only B teams in 2012

Why do some teams in Barbados have a B team despite not having one in real life?/Why do some of the Bermudan teams have PDL teams when not having one in real life?

I wanted the database to be dynamic - that you could take any team in Barbados/Bermuda and not be permanently crippled for anything other than being from a small village. Thus, I thought it reasonable that some teams would set up a B-team to compete in the lower leagues or a PDL team in Bermuda if they reached that stage.

Why did you include Trinidad's InterCol Leagues?

School football is roughly as popular if not more popular in Trinidad than the national league and the vast majority of Trinidadian players will have cut their teeth in this league. Thus it seemed an interesting addition, although I recommend you don't manage in the league.

*Currently....*

Playing :)

Version History

Version 5.2 Final

Updated Trinidad and related players for the current season, including the new teams and formats (bigger TT pro league, T&TEC financially withdrew, Point Fortin FC (previously CC) added, more InterCol teams, new competitions)

Added Caribbean Championship Player awards (which the base game seems to lack for some reason).

Version 5.1 hotfix

Big update for Trinidad and Tobago, removing duplicates and adding stats for a number of players.

Added St. Lucia

Minor tweaks

Version 5

All Tax information for all Caribbean nations covered in the pack have been added, and some transfer/wage values have been added for some others - this should make it more interesting playing in different nations

Trinibagoan transfers updated for the Pro League

In line with CIA groupings (IMF/WB dont bother to include it because it's part of the UK), Bermuda has been made a Developed country

V4.1

Bug fixes (needed to have league history in Suriname or LA Galaxy enter CFU Club Championship)

V4.0

Across the boards edits to awards to give the reputation boosts necessary for the best players to get into the national team.

Major additions to Trinidad, including squads for National Super League, a number of coaches, and the InterCol leagues.

Bugfixes for Bermuda, Trinidad, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines

V3.0

Barbados (massive edit) and Grenada (massive) added

New version of editor fixed problem with playoffs, so T&T goes down to regional level now, and all that work I put into Saint Vincent and the Grenadines can be finally activated.

All teams completely rebalanced, with reputation boosts and an awards overhaul. I learnt a lot over the past 3 months, most importantly about what makes the AI pick players in small nations (reputation), necessitating some changes.

Transfer preferences further tweaked.

V2.0

Jamaica and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines added

All nations tweaked to solve what appears to be a bug in the game - namely that nations are too picky about their players on the basis of reputation. Many teams had their reputation and training facilities boosted so that all nations produce a good amount of regens and national teams are still full after 30 years. It's been a learning experience!

Fixed some mistakes

added nation transfer preferences, which has had a big (positive) effect in Caribbean transfers - expect a struggle to keep your fantastic prospects in some of the smaller nations!

Balance

V.1.0

Move to version 1 is prompted by working CFU, although I should really have Jamaica before I do that...

Changes;

Advanced editor continental competitions (seems to work fine, extensively tested)

Awards for these made

Sandy Martins Fix made

Antigua and Bermuda fixed (caused by not checking clashes)

French Antilles completed (Saint Barthélemy aren't in the game as a nation yet)

Trinidad and Tobago balanced more (increased training)

Antigua and Barbuda vastly expanded

0.8

Have you tried running the leagues & CFU Cup without my FM12 NAM file?

Because the format changed between FM12 and FM13, SI may have set it up properly this time so that it picks the correct teams (i.e. top three from CFU Cup)

Regarding awards not working, this could be due to there not being enough players of the required reputation to qualify for the award (especially if it's national awards rather than league ones)

I asked them in the feedback forum and they said it's random selection again :(. I thought that, but then surely Saint-Martin should have more problems than Bahamian players? Or it could be that the regen Bahamas players have a much lower reputation (due to their clubs) than their nation?

Last year, the game would pick 3 Caribbean qualifiers for the NA Champions League from a list of 6 countries, I think it's T&T, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Martinique, Haiti and another one (can't remember). Whether they win a created CFU Club Championship or not doesn't matter, it's random/somewhat based on reputation.

I've mentioned it in another thread, but with France enabled, a high-rep Martiniquais and Guadeloupean team get in the French Cup 7th round. Along with creating tourneys like the Coupe des Antilles, there's a lot of potential trophies with these teams (I still would love to see a Martiniquais team win the French Cup, I wonder if they'd end up in the Europa League).

I was using the FM12 Nam_Rebuild, and for some reason it always puts Santos in to the NACL. The CFU I made, works fine and selects the top three teams from a 4 team league as well.

BVI league is made already and about as accurate as it can be. Although the teams are made as semi-pro as it improves the career if you choose tomanage one of them. This is easily changed.

You can avoid the Sandy Martins "bug" by adding another custom file. Just copy Sandy Martins and delete the original record. The game uses Sandy Martins as a placeholder, because he has ID number 0. If there is no player with that ID the game does not fill-up a vacancy.

Winners of each league will enter the CFU Championship. The finalists and winner of the 3rd place playoff qualify for the CONCACAF Champions League

Finances and prize money has been added.

Fileplanet restricts certain countries I'll add it to media fire.

Thanks for the solution KUBI, I'll include that fix with my next update

Just tested the FM12 NAM rebuild and found a repeat of a glitch from last year - it doesn't always pull the correct CONCACAF champ into the Club World Cup. In my test save, Monterrey, the 2012 winners, were in both the 2012 and 2013 CWC, but LA Galaxy should've been in 2013 as they won the CCL that year. This was the one bug we couldn't get past last year, if I remember right.

The CONCACAF Champs League format has changed this year too, the default version in the game is correct in that there's no preliminary round and 8 groups of 3 teams instead of last year/the NAM12 rebuild. For MLS teams, this means your players can be in the All-Star game instead of playing in the prelim round.

Excuse me but I don't undestand which file I must download to have real CFU and Concacaf Champions League.

Hi there,

Download the 7zip file (both links give the same file). Unzip all files to the >my documents>Sports Interactive>Football Manager 2013>editor Data folder.

The real CFU and CONCACAF Champions league files are in the V50 CFU v3, but won't work without all the other data files loaded (you'll end up with American team sometimes, or it'll straight-up crash).

You don't have to select the leagues as playable for it to work, just one from North America

Eugh I accidentally uploaded an old version of Martinique - next version will update all files with some tweaks in order to get regens through at appropriate qualities and add Jamaica.

I'd recommend starting your St. Vincent game again :( For some reason it wiped the youth contract and discipline settings when I added the transfer window last time

Hey, this is awesome! Thanks for uploading it all!

I'm in 2020 with Bears FC of The Bahamas. I'm having a weird bug. Every other year, my players stop gaining condition in about the middle of May (so after a game, if they are at 75%, they will stay at 75% until the next game, no matter how long the break). It is May 12, 2020 for me right now, and it's happening. It also happened in 2014, 2016, and 2018. Also, every time it happens, there is no off season. So my players this year won't appear to go on vacation, and I can schedule friendlies the whole off season.

My theory is that when this happens, the game thinks that the season ended April 30. The game then thinks they are on vacation so it stops worrying about conditioning, but they have games to play, so the vacation status doesn't show up. I'm not sure how to test this, or fix it. Maybe it is somehow related to the season awards not being given out? I also have other custom files loaded in this save, so it could just be my version.

Sorry for typing so much. I'm not trying to criticize, I'm really enjoying my save. It typically only affects the last 4 or so games of the season, and I have house rules for that.

Just downloaded and fired this up. Looks great! Only downside is that St. Lucia isn't included, but no worries, looking to take over a club in the Bahamas or Bermuda. Not sure which just yet.

Simply I spent way too much time on making the leagues and it ate away so much of my time :( Someone else made BVI, and Sint Maarten is actually partially covered in MotoClub's excellent French Antilles files which are included. If you simply want to activate the leagues it's not too time-consuming and there are lots of poor quality leagues out there doing just that, but I focus on sustainability - i.e. you can play these leagues for 20 years and not have problems. That involves setting up awards, club and league reputations, a minimal level of staff and players, running the leagues several times in order to check they're compatable and don't break down over a decade (one problem was that national teams would only pick grey players later on because SI kinda messed up the reputation requirements of smaller nations). You also need to add transfer preferences, tax regimes, prize money, and add missing teams (of which there are many). Moreover, unless you want a database of blue-white kitted teams, you need to make an attempt to find kits for all these teams, or randomly assign new colours so they have some life.

All of that takes a fair amount of time for each nation. I seriously considered those nations, thinking their small size might make it quick, but they have enough teams to put me off sadly :(

I have to say, I joined this forum just to be able to thank you and of course download this awesome megapack!

Thank you for your hard work, am about to start playing my favorite team (a team I actually play for xD) Transvaal, Suriname :D

Is Suriname a managable country in your game by the way?

Link to post

Thanks man :) Glad to hear it's loved! For Suriname you definitely need to send some love to Etzella, who added all the players and edited the clubs around to give a proper Surinamese experience. Suriname is definitely manageable :) In the original Suriname suffered what most smaller countries suffered in that the game would pick greys no matter what because generated players wouldn't get a high enough reputation to get picked - this is fixed (the importance of player awards and team rep balancing) so you're all set :)
