Thats my second season complete, Fa Cup semi finalists, defeated 1-0 by Spurs, dominated but failed to find the back of the net. Knocked out in the second knockout round of the Europa league by Benfica, should of won that but missed several clear cut chances in the away leg. The league wasnt my greatest performance, drop points at the lesser clubs hindered my performance. And only grabing 2 points from the last 3 games meant I finished 7th but still qualified for the Europa league, only 4 points off fourth so it was very tight up there. Should break into that top four next season.

After a lack of goals in the first season Cisse stepped up with 30, joint second top scorer in the league with 27 - Giroud smashed it for Arsenal with 30 odd.

Ba and Ademilson snatched 12 apiece and 9 from Campbell, so a solid return from the strike force.

Been given a nice ~17mil transfer budget, not sure where to invest it, going to have to look through some of these scout reports. Defence is solid and packed so wont get anyone else in there, might let Raylor go though, he seems surplus to requirments and his contract expires in the summer. Streete coming on very well.

Nearing the end of season 1, have a bit of transfer money available. Trying to secure Javier Hernandez and Mikel Obi, 77k a week for Hernandez is putting me off a tad.

Anyone had any experiences, preferably alongside Cisse.

No experience, but they are too similar players to be a pairing in a front two.

I've just had a dream of a first season, winning the FA Cup, Europa League and somehow the Premier League. I won the FA Cup thanks to an easy run in and a hattrick in the final for Shola Ameobi of all people, scoring in the 93rd minute of normal time, 93rd of extra time and then the 119th minute, ending 3-2 and winning it for me against Liverpool. The Europa League was just as hard, winning 2-1 in extra time against Ajax, thanks to goals from Campbell and Ferguson, both subbed on when my 1st team wasn't performing. Won the league on the last game of the season, beating Norwich while Man City drew to Chelsea, meaning I took the title by 3 points. Would have been a lot easier had I not lost to Man City at home in the previous game, bringing them within one point of us.

In terms of the squad, I managed to bring in a few players to help bulk out the squad, such as Anderson, Kjaer and Wellington Nem, however my 1st XI was made of the same players I started with. Gutierrez and Ben Arfa were amazing on the wings, leading to Hatem getting goal of the season, and Jonas finishing with the most assists for me, and Cisse and Ba performed well together, with Campbell and Ameobi filling in nicely.

I've just started the second season transfer window, and had a bit of a setback as Cisse is suddenly asking for over 80k a week, so I offered him out and got a bid of £31m from Juve. Should I take it or not, and who would be a good replacement for my top goalscorer last season, as I don't think Campbell is ready to be relied on that much.

He is a cracking looking player have to agree, my scouts have been raving about him but he'd be just a bit too expensive for us at this point as he's been playing really well in Italy

And out of the blue my DoF has arranged a £28 million deal to sign Gabbiadini

Good as he looks I'll be cancelling the deal as that's way more than I'm willing to spend on one player

No setback, he's under contract, and your not obliged to pay his demands. If he's your top scorer and playing well for you I'd see no reason to sell, not even for that price. There is not going to be a replacement for Cisse in terms of goalscoring quality, even for £25M + bonuses and agent fees that will come to the price you've recieved for Cisse, and not demand what Cisse is in wages.

£80K a week is no big deal if he's scoring you 30+ goals a season. If I recall, even in the second season he still has time to run on his contract - wheres the rush to sell?

Quite a steep price! Latest move my DOF tried pulling off was to sign a Nigerian regen winger for £37M, called Babayaro. Was a good player, but was never happening.

Now he's after Raheem Sterling; who seems to have developed quite well at Liverpool, but I just wouldn't be content buying such a player knowing there is obviously talent still within the player, that the AI hadn't tapped into. That and the fact I don't really play with wingers...

I might have gone for it if the deal had been less than 20 million as Paiss Cisse has just moved to Bayern for just over that amount. I decided after all to cash in on him since I've got Campbell in such good form, covered by the experience of David Villa and then 2 good regens behind that.. Figured that the 20.5 mill that Bayern offered would cover pretty much all of my spending so far and leave me with 40 odd million still to spend on a couple of big name signings if I see fit. Man City actually came in with an offer as well once Bayern bid, but Cisse chose to sign for the Gaermans in the end. (Which I'm rather thankful for really :D)

Probably not my most popular move with the fanbase, but Cisse is still at his peak and I'd feel bad about leaving him on the bench all the time if Campbell continues his form this season. Rather have an actual back up player being the back up in this case.

I'm considering trying to unsettle either Jack Wilshere as Arsenal have really struggled the last couple seasons or Kurt Zouma to team him up with Kirchhoff at heart of my defence.

So my attempts to move on Andres Iniesta have taken a turn for the worse...

Lined him up for a deal to Birmingham City for £3.3M. He's at the World Cup playing for Spain, bearing in mind I've asked him twice over the past season to retire from international duty, consequently he ruins his cruciates the day after his agent rejects the contract Birmingham have offered him

Like the caring manager I am, I initially hope he'll do the honest thing and retire - of which he hasn't yet. Next I move on to offering a mutual termination, of which he declines :mad:.

8269025556_47cc4969f0_b.jpg

I'm hoping he'll retire midway through his comeback, but doubtful when taking into consideration his personality. This means I'll be paying £90K a week on the final year of his contract, he's highly unlikely to ever play for me again, and there are no means to call on Spain's insurance to pay up (ala, Micheal Owen, Newcastle United, WC 2006) One of the finest players of his generation, now rendered a massive money sponge.

Ouch, that's a hefty old wage to be losing.

I had some frustration with the international calendar myself with my new signing Grande having his ankle smashed on duty with the Italian under 19s at some invitational tournament. So he's off to a specialist for a few months and I lose the chance to start moulding him quickly the way I wanted...hopefully though he'll recover fully.

In the meantime I've picked up Samir Handanovic on a free to give Krul some decent back up for a couple of years, and also signed Michael Essien after his release by Benfica. Brought him in purely to spend the year tutoring a couple of young midfielders, don't envisage him playing any league matches unless we have a catastrophic injury crisis. I've also started praising Wilshire and Oxlade-Chamberlain with the hope that if Arsenal have another poor season and miss out on Europe, I might be able to make a move for them next summer (assuming we keep performing up to expectation of course).

Man City are sniffing around Tiote as well, if they make a really huge bid I might let him go, but would have to be £25 mill plus before I'd consider it. I have made an offer to PSG to take Radja Nainggolan on loan just in case City do flash the cash though.

I payed £25m for Gabbiadini after getting rid of Cisse, I also only paid £7.5m for Sterling. Chelsea and Man City offered £23m 2 seasons later.

I'm also going to try a new save with the academy files from here, I'll keep my save now just incase that one doesn't go to plan!

Thus far in my first seasons, i've been knocked out of both domestic cups. Admittedly i thought 'here we go, another long save' but it seems to have been a blessing in disguise helping us from 2nd-7th in the league (depending on matches played, it's rather tight up there). Europe is going well i've been lucky in the draws so far. Still considering a bit for Mikel for 8m and selling Tiote to raise some funds.

If you play the obvious first teamers for the whole first season, they all can be sold for large sums at the end of season 1...

I sold tiote for £35m , anita for £20m , gutierez for about £15m for example. ..

The first season is the hardest IMHO. only having 7m to start and about 100k in wages to play with... limits the amount of new faces to come in unless you sell... my tip is to try to get as many decent first team type bosmans in as you can.... (obvious i know) but i'm surprised just how many people who play fm who dont do it as often as you'd expect.

Hiya, seen great things of Campbell on here! Just wondering what formation do you play him in? 1 or 2 strikers? What individual role? Iv only just started a save! Thanks

I personally play him as lone forward; and he can only really be played as a poacher anyway.

guys, how am i able to rename the Champions Cup to the UEFA Champions League? the name its set to at the moment is just annoying lol

Your need to look in the editors forum, there will be a download you can add it to your game there. Will only come into play once you've started a new save though.

The phrase 'raise some funds' is becoming a bit of a cliche now. Absolutely no need to 'raise funds'. Can't remember how many times I've said this now, but if you get into CL or even Europa League for the second season your be given more than enough money to invest in the squad. Unless Tiote is sat on your bench week in week out, and you don't bother playing him I'd see no reason to sell him.

If you play the obvious first teamers for the whole first season, they all can be sold for large sums at the end of season 1...

Gutierrez is expendable, and a good player to move on to 'raise funds' - but in my opinion you should be keeping hold of Tiote, Anita for seasons to come. The starting budget is more that enough for you to invest in one or two players for the squad. The first eleven, when all fit has more than enough quality to be challenging for top four, and with some astute and careful management no real reason why you can't challenge for the title.

As pointed out, Bosman deals are great. You should be on the look out for players as early as possible, August is when I start. I take a look at anyone then, realistic, unrealistic, doesn't matter, who's contract has 12 months to go. If anyone takes my fancy, I get them scouted a few times, tap them up a bit, and if all goes to plan they won't be wanting to extend their contract with said club.

Players I've picked up on bosmans would be Giuseppe Rossi, Iker Munian, Gianluca Caprari and Nemanja Vidic on a free transfer. Missed out on Ganso last season, or didn't feel the need to sign him - but there are dozens of players to be had on freebies out there!

First Season Begins!

Goals:

* Lower the average age of the squad

*Get rid of big earners surplus to requirements

*Bring in young exciting players for first team and the future

*Balance, so I'm able to compete first season, not just the future

* Develop the likes of Streete, Campbell and Vuckic into solid first teamers.

First Team XI

Here is my first team XI and main tactic, at full strength. More than enough to compete I feel. Small Squad though I admit.

Happy with all of it tbh... Ruiz has always been a top player for me and is a perfect replacement for Jonas who wasn't of the standard I need at all..

Zaha was more expensive than I thought or wanted but he's a great player to have and to train up...

Most of those are with clauses as well, but well within the clubs budget. Happy as Larry.

Been a successful World Cup for the Toon I'd say. Campbell firing England to a World Cup win in Russia, with Jack Butland, William Dobson, Steven Taylor and Martin Rae keeping the Brazilians quite in the Final.

Anyone else had St. James' expanded yet? New chairman (well relatively new) has agreed to it finally in January 2018. Hoping to stick around long enough for a new ground to be built - hopefully shouldn't be long in regard to being able to afford one, as I've got in place a very good scouting system around the world and a top academy, so player purchases will be very low in the future. So revenue should come streaming in once I can finally win the CL, and then again a few times..

Gallowgate expansion ahoy!

...this is Athur.

Here is this years transfers. Had to shift out quite a few players this year, as the squad was becoming far too bloated with youth players coming into the first team. Inadvertently released Sneijder and Schweinstieger at a cost of something like £7M. Instructed to DOF to find a club for them, but instead instructed 'sell or release'.

8276340336_43db4f42a2_b.jpg

Two signings for the first team this summer. First of which is Zorrilla from Marseille. Had knowledge of him for a number of seasons since he first came into the Boca side, but didn't see anything in him at the time. This summer I was looking for a player that I can mold into a attacking libero, and his name came back into the radar. £20M was a considerable lot more than I would have been paying him before he moved to Europe, but is now an Argentine international at left back, and was in this summers gone WC2018 XI.

Jack Wilshere was a very late deal. PSG, Real and Man United had been trailing him this summer, and on the closing couple of days in the window handed a transfer request in - so I was able to steal the deal from under PSG's noses and grab myself a bargain. Didn't really intend to have another midfielder come in, as I was trying to slim down the squad, but couldn't pass up the deal.

First steps in this years (2018/19) League Cup. Handed an easy tie to Shrewsbury, mid table in League 1. Gave me an opportunity to hand some debuts to a few players. Would have been a lot more but the majority of the reserve side were still recovering from a midweek game.

8275201919_142d9f0deb_b.jpg

Leonel Martinez Signed from Boca for £2.9M last year, joined the club this summer once he turned of age. 5 star potential, hoping he can quickly learn from Jack Butland, boost his determination and he can be loaned out to develop playing games for a few seasons - possibly even for a quick sale as I have an equally talented academy goalkeeper out on loan this year.

8275201483_697c5cba1d_b.jpg

Tom Arne Hovring £2.8M from Viking FK in Norway this summer. Picked out by the Scandanavian scout. Didn't have incredible potential, but was valued very low for something like £20K. Added him as a transfer target expecting to get him below £500K, but DOF ended up paying a lot more. Now out the club he seems to be rated much higher. Not sure whether he will make many games for the first team, he's a few years older than I would have liked - but will more than likely be tutored, loaned out, and sold on before his contract ends.

8276265786_c6b29f6c46_b.jpg

Shane Johnston One of this years big signings. Wanted to buy him once he promoted into Southampton's U18's a couple of years ago, but couldn't justify the expense. Rated to surely be one of England's top talents of the next generation - signed for £20M.

8276265164_00866eac44_b.jpg

Marquin Burridge Poached from Southampton's fruitful academy at the end of last season for a compensation fee of £775K

8275199629_bf3848554e_b.jpg

Emmanuel Bunce Newcastle academy product. Didn't feature in this tie, but one of around five of sic talented young strikers at the club.

Just done the double in 2018/19. Won my first Premier League, even though I was expected to finished around 3rd-5th. Also won Capital One Cup.

My Adam Campbell if you want to see, was my top goalscorer due to having 4 strikers rotating to 1 striker spot.

Newcastle United 2015/16 Season Review.

The guy is just a goal machine. Alan Shearers record of 206 goals for the club won't take long to beat for the ginger haired assassin from North Shields.

The Future.

I have already tied up deals to bring in about 30 youngsters from various clubs, most on compensation deals. I am also looking into trying to sign Yann M'Vila and Mario Gotze and possibly Andriy Yarmolenko.

But with a heavy heart I have agreed to sell Cheick Tiote and Hatem Ben Arfa, both to Spurs for a combined £70m, which isn't bad business as Tiote is 30 and Ben Arfa is 29 and both wanted £125k per week on five year contracts and that was after a lot of negiotiation to get them down to £125k.

Yohan Cabaye might be leaving also as he wants a big wage and he is also 30 so if I get a offer of around £20m he will also be on his way.

im having massive problems with Newcastle, started about 10 saves and never get past the first season, as much as I love cabaye irl he's such a bad egg on this imo constantly going red on team talks and not trying in matches, the dembas will not play well together at all (which is true to life tbf), krul makes so many mistakes and colo and taylor play like they've never met each other before

I cannot for the life of me find a tactic, tried my own and countless ones from here and still no joy

Is it my imagination or does your regen Shane Johnson have a passing resemblance to tv & radio pundit, part time ballroom dancer, one time footballer, and full time irritation Robbie Savage?

Ha, I see the likeness! :D (Savage is okay. Don't mistake someone having a personality for being irritant. Lawro, Shearer are irritations! :p)

Looks good. How many goals has he now? I've got a couple of seasons on you it would appear - I'm hoping he can break Shearer's record by next season (19/20)

Edit: Shearer's Record Just done the adding up. Currently on nine for the season, taking him to 155. So if he can finish with another 51 for the season, 60 total he'll have done it at the age of 24!

I've just counted and Campbell has 160 goals in 155 games in all competitions, so if he scores 47 goals next season he will break Shearers record at the age of 22 years old.

Very impressive indeed! What sort of set-up do you have the side playing? I've been pretty counter attacking/possession based in recent seasons, so obviously not scored as many goals as I would have done if I was a bit more expansive.

I like the idea of having Walcott, Sterling and Redmond on the wings with Campbell - some serious pace there! That's where I'm falling short in terms of getting Campbell firing 55+ goals a season, not having those wide players getting the side 30+ assists a season.

I play a 4-2-3-1 Deep formation with a balanced philosophy, generally I play either counter attack or control depending on who I am playing but I like playing fast players on the wings as inside forwards with Campbell up top as a poacher and a trequartista in the hole.

These are the roles I use

GK Sweeper keeper - Support

RB Wingback - Attack

LB Wingback - Attack

CD Central Defender - Defend

DMC Deep Lying Playmaker - Defend

Im thinking of playing a 4231 in my save as season 1 progresses into season 2! Got Wellington nem but he's got a bad injury :-( Need another pacey winger in summer! Do you play out of defence? GK distribution? What's shouts do you use?

Just another quick question, how do you prevent cabaye from going red with every team talk and looking uninterested!!

Many thanks :-)
