FM13 - Who do you think will have biggest changes in ability?

Recommended Posts

All of the belgian national team should be upped and overhyped ffs. There you go.

Anyway this is for GD.

If they raise the ability of Sterling and Allen, which (starting eleven/first team) players in Liverpool should then be lowered? Because if anything, the general ability of Liverpool should be lower - not higher.

Tom Ince! But doubt he will be.

I have got a feeling he will be a lot better in FM13 and will be a good signing for any bottom half side in the Premier League. His form over the last year warrants a rise in attributes.

Raheem Stirling and Joe Allen I suspect will go up but I can see Liverpool being over-rated on this year's game. Scott Sinclair should also go up and I think he will be this year's version of Adam Johnson. He will get upset quickly by not playing at Man City and a good number of human manager's will sign him up.

It will be the same as always. Anyone who has transferred to a big club will get a massive boost, anyone going the other way will have more realistic stats.

So Modric will now rival Messi, Rodwell will be Dunga, whereas Park Ji-Sung and Adam Johnson will be average players again.

Jake Livermore has developed a lot in the last year and I'd expect to see that reflected in the game: a year ago I doubt his own family expected to see him playing for England now.

Rodrigo from Benfica, spain U-21 needs a major PA boost along with Nelson Oliveira also from Benfica & Portugal U-21, Iturbe from Porto, De Rossi should imo have a boost on both CA & PA, i don't see how he's any worst than mascherano or fellaini, plus he's a better playmaker than any of the other 2 again imo.

In terms of MUFC: Tom Cleverley and Danny Welbeck should be higher - not ridiculously buffed but both should have the potential to become key players for United. It'll be interesting to see how they rate Buttner, Powell and Scholes (who is nowhere near as influential in game as he is IRL). Javier Hernandez should be knocked down a tier - great finisher but a limited footballer compared to the likes of Welbeck.

Elsewhere in the Prem, Jelavic needs a boost and I reckon we'll see some PA creeps on the Swansea squad too - buffs to Leon Britten's mental attributes perhaps?

Juve felt underrated to me on FM12 too.

im going to assume you arent playing the latest official patch or something.. as cleverley and welbeck both are superb and england regulars in game for years to come..

welbeck in particular becomes one of the best strikers around if given the time

agree with jelavic and everton in general tbh.. they never live up to their real life counterparts... which is obviously down to most part the manager, but still.. they are still the perenial underrated team in the game

It really doesn't work like that, for a start all the players you mention will have been done by their former team's researcher based on their performance last season. Their new researcher won't touch their CA or PA until 2013.

Nope, all patched up and playing the latest db update. Maybe it's just how my games play out but they always seem to get loaned out, sold or rarely played on my saves - I don't generally play as United and prefer career games from the lowest leagues so it could well be more to do with rep and the AI Sir Alex Ferguson.

I did load a game up as United to check out their squad ratings in 12.2 though, and although star ratings shouldn't be taken as gospel due to their in-game mechanics, it narked me slightly since really he should be judged to have the potential to play almost at the level of Giggs/Scholes.

I expect Oscar at Chelsea to be boosted to nigh-on wonderkid levels.

In England: Fellaini (hidden stats mostly), Dembele (needs to be completely re-researched), Cazorla, Nick Powell, Oscar, Buttner, Chamberlain, Sterling, Michu, Sinclair, Leon Britton, and Assou-Ekotto (I hate how, in FM12, the first action of any AI Spurs manager is to spend £30m on multiple leftbacks to replace him). RVP should have his injury proneness toned down as well.

If they raise the ability of Sterling and Allen, which (starting eleven/first team) players in Liverpool should then be lowered? Because if anything, the general ability of Liverpool should be lower - not higher.

Downing, Henderson, Gerrard and Reina should all have attribute drops. Carragher remains overrated as well. Lucas needs a slight reduction to reflect how long he's been out with injury. If you add in the departure of Carroll, Maxi, Bellamy, Adam and Kuyt, that should significantly reduce their effectiveness in Football Manager (as it has in real life). Beyond that, Liverpool's issues are mostly related to tactics that are incompatible with much of the squad and an utter lack of morale, and FM has ways of modeling that as well.

While Allen has been Liverpool's best player so far this season, he deserves a slight boost to positioning, tackling, passing and composure based on his Swansea performance regardless of how Liverpool is doing at the moment. With that said, Allen is very much a specialist player (specifically, he's a ball retention robot... marvelously efficient but he won't bring the magic needed to make the difference between 0-0 and 1-0), so he shouldn't have the CA of a "complete midfielder." He should be a great player in the right system and a more limited player in others. Likewise, Sterling shouldn't be a world beater, but I don't think you can argue that he shouldn't be raised to the 120-135 CA range so the AI actually uses him. In FM12, he's terrible and never develops into a first team player under the AI.

Pretty much everyone of Aston Villa's signings. I'm not saying this because I am a fan, but because they won't be anywhere near the quality to be picked by the AI.

Tom Ince got a buff in the transfer patch on FM12 so he might not get buffed as much.

Kyle Walker perhaps a little, he is already decent in the game.

probably the biggest mover would be Nick Powell

can't believe no one mentioned montepellier yet

they always finish midtable in FM12. they're going to need huge stat boosts too all their players in order to compete in FM13

oh, and Marco Reus. can you believe his PA was only 160ish in FM12?

It kind of looks that they will be back to mid-table this year though.

As said above, Villa's new signings plus Weimann,Guzan and Carruthers but Delfouneso,Warnock,Hutton and Makoun need big drops while Bent, Agbonlahor and Dunne need minor drops.

Plus I feel Adu needs abit of a rise in stats not over the top like some of the Villa players mentioned but a rise.

Moses is looking kinda good atm.

Brendan Rodgers = 0 for transfers.

Carlton Cole has retired (No one told him though)

Joey Barton needs a boost to aggresion, dirtiness and controversy whilst dropping his decision making to zero.

John Terry needs a boost to controversy. (I think a boost to any of his stats will cheer the poor fella up)

Joe Allen needs a boost to his sideways passing attribute and a PPM of "Never plays through balls"

Mo Farrah signs for Arsenal.

Please assign Harry Redknapp to a club, any club, I dont care which. My first save is always taking over his club just to see him sacked, I then retire.

Lambert +20 penalties (Never missied a Southampton penalty????Wow)

Suarez should be on the same mark as Tom Daly for diving.

Fletcher shots on target/goals scored ratio needs a boost .... 4 from 4 so far???

Rooneys face pack needs removing.

butland should get a boost because he has been very good although birmingham havent been all that.

Vaz Te deserves a decent boost

the U23 Mexicans should all get a favourable boost after their triumph at the olympics

cech should be a lot less consistant

Michu obviously

Liam Britton seriously underrated

and I hope Francis Coquelin and Frimpong get nice boosts as well
