Chelsea 0-2 Barcelona

How I've lost this 2-0 I'll never know, they only had 6 shots to my 14 but it's a poor defeat and one that leaves me with an almighty task in the return leg.. A Gerard Pique penalty gave them the lead just before half time and Fabregas doubled that lead immediately after the break

Barcelona 1-3 Chelsea

OH MY WORD!

What an unbelievable performance at the Nou Camp. We completely outplayed them and pulled off an outstanding comeback. We went 1-0 within the first minute after a goal from their striker Valenciano and I thought that was it, we needed to score at least 3 and hope we didn't collapse. Then came the magic! Towering centre back Antonio Almeida powered home the equaliser to get the travelling fans interested again. 5 minutes later up popped Cristian Ferreira with a goal to put us ahead on the night. Ferreira was put in the starting lineup at the last minute as I thought we needed as much creativity in the middle as possible. His central midfield partner Simecek grabbed our third just before half time to have us believing the impossible was on! We went into the second half knowing one more goal would leave Barcelona needing two but that wasn't necessary as surprisingly they never really threatened our lead. Into the final we go on away goals!

Chelsea 2-0 Inter (aet)

Incredible scenes in Istanbul after a tense and even 90 minutes, Chelsea finally did the job after a blistering extra time period. 14 shots a piece tells its own story as both teas gave as good as they got but two brilliant goalkeeping performances kept the score level. Winger Sacchelli, who has been outstanding this season finally put Chelsea ahead in extra time before striker Traore capped off his great season with the sealer in the last minute. The second goal was an absolute relief because we played the last 20mins with 10 men after an injury in centre mid and all subs having been used. It's the stuff of dreams after an unbelievable first season at the club and finally there has been a team to win back-to-back Champions Leagues!

Season Review 2020/21

League Table

FA Cup: 6th Round (lost to Man Utd)

League Cup: Runners up (lost to Arsenal)

Community Shield: Winners (beat Arsenal)

Super Cup: Winners (beat Werder Bremen)

Club Championship: Winners (beat Sao Paulo)

Champions League: Winners (beat Inter)

What a season! The domestic cups got away from us but I was knocked out by good teams. I couldn't have expected this in my first season. A league title and winning the Champions League, all the others are nice trophies to win but I'm delighted to win the big two.

Player Stats:

Key Players:

Angelo Sacchelli - Player of the season for me by far. A 7.55 rating in 37 league appearances with 17 goals and 22 assists in all competitions from AML. The Italian deffinitely gets my vote for player of the season.

Robert Bosschart - One half of a fantastic centre back pairing who contributed 10 goals this season. He has solidified himself in the Chelsea defence for a long time.

Antonio Almeida - The other half of that centre back pairing who also contributed 10 goals. Season highlight has to be that all important goal at the Nou Camp which will go down as one of our best ever wins.

Dougie Kennedy - On the opposite flank to Sacchelli and while not quite as good stats-wise, he also had a brilliant season with 14 goals and 12 assists.

Lacina Traore - He wasn't my initial first choice striker before the season got underway but a succession of niggling injuries kept Lukaku out of the picture. Traore capitalised with 26 goals, with 19 coming in 27 league appearances.

The relegation fight was tense and I was feeling every minute of Forest's struggle. At one point they were 11 points behind safety with 12 points available. They put together wins against Swansea, West Ham and Liverpool to set up a huge final day of the season. Unfortunately the fixture list had been harsh on them and they travelled to Arsenal where they lost. Results hadn't gone their way anyway so had they won at Arsenal it still would have been heartbreak for The Reds. Hopefully they bounce straight back as I'd love to see them back in the Prem as soon as possible. Also relegated were Huddersfield who had spent a respectable couple of years in the top flight. Fulham completed the three and can't say I'm too disappointed about that, they bore me to pieces. Taking their place are Hull, Bolton and Watford.

The end of this season marks the tenth season of my save so I'll update you on the state of the leagues across Europe:

Now that I have my first Premier League title I am torn between sticking with Chelsea for a few seasons and seeing some of the younger players develop and see if I can rack up some trophies... or turning my head back towards my inital aim of winning the main 5 leagues. I'll make my decision shortly depending on what jobs are available...
