Well the big thing this month is we smashed the side sitting 6th in the premier league they fielded a full strength side and obviously underestimated us as we demolished them. We are also extending our lead at the top of the table and its going to take a monumental collapse to not see us go up as champions, the goals are still flowing freely the defence is still as tight as a fishes rear end, there was a scare when Stoke wanted Darcy and he has a £5m release clause so I was afraid I was going to lose him, but the win the FA cup put an end to that I’m still wondering where the defeat will come from

Busy month for us as we went out of the cup to QPR and it was a closer game than the score line suggests, we then dropped points against Crewe but the main point is we are finally defeated, Barnsley have the honour of ending our unbeaten run, it’s a ghost similarity to 1998 when we lost to Bansley in our 105 season and it was Barnsley who beat us this year, however we bounced back to home Derby and keep the leagues top scorer at bay, Im also now ticking off the positions I cant finish with the games remaining 16th in the league cant catch me.

Great stuff, really look forward to seeing your transfers next season. Any players contracts running out that are worth considering?

I dont know will all depend on the wage budget club is already losing money each month with our meager wage budget, so we need to stay up next year, on a shoestring, ive my eye on one or two players

What a season! Next season will be a whole different ball game but we smashed the league this year I’m hoping just to stay up next year nothing more, but it was good to see over 40k at a home match for only the second time this season, we need to pull the crowds in to get the revenues up helped with the premier league revenue we should be ok but this summer will be a tough on I feel my hands will be tied a lot I’m hoping my players can make the step up as most of them will be given a chance to do that, I only want to add one or two players to the squad not overhaul it, the past couple of years I’ve been signing players who the scouts say will cope with the rigors of the premier league, the front two of Agus and Darcy managed to grab 42 goals between them this season so I know they can score, the defence was tight and I had premier league teams sniffing round those so they must be good enough the midfield is my weak point I’m going to try and sign a couple of centre mids and try and get a fast winger who is good at crossing for a reasonable price.

Transfers:

Dowson leaves on loan.

Local lad Peter Dowson leaves on loan for conference side FC United, this is his big season he needs to make a impact if he wants to challenge for the first team!

Marshall Joins Saints

Doug Marshall finally left the club he played 7 games for us 3 seasons ago and looked a decent player but fell out of favour with the arrivals of Matlak and Lemma he was allowed to drop back to the championship for Free

Massey and Matlak Join stoke in double raid

Massey was sold to Stoke by the board as a £4.5m was offered for my main centre midfielder he made 208 appearance scoring 26 goals he was signed in league one and I had high hopes of seeing him turn out for us in the premier league. The Deal for Matlak was done a few weeks later as I offered him out for £3m after a few clubs came sniffing and his injury record has never been so good so I wanted rid.

Alfonso goes home

Luis Alfonso has gone back home, he refused to sign a new contract so I cashed in on him before his deal ran out, well he would take a contract but wanted way more than I was prepared to give him per week. He goes to La Liga for £2m

Petkovic Signs for Cartagena

The midfielder didn’t feature much for us last year so I decide to sell him the only bid was from Cartagena so he was allowed to leave as his promotion wage clause pushed his wage too high for the structure.

Peter Wilson – Free

The Trinadad U21 full back was signed for the future seems to be decent coaches and scouts see him as better than my current left back so I’m hoping he develops I’ve made him available for loan.

Gerti Arberi – Free

Gerti I have watched all of last season he played for Everton I kept my intrest in him all season and the summer to get him to sign when he left the club, any earlier I would have had to pay Everton £2.3m in compensation, so I snapped him up two days after he left the club and will become my first choice right back.

Rogelio Sanmartin Delgardo – Free

The striker signed after leaving Barcelona he made 14 appearences scoring 7 goals for the club he is essentially my replacement for Alfonso and will be around the first team as a striker

Kenny Ormrod – Free

The AMC is currently being retrained as a MC as I ant to drop him back and be my attacking midfielder, he has the skills he has played 12 times for Man Utd and I have high hopes for the kid,

Liam George – Free (1st Jan)

Ive been watching Liam for the past two seasons since my scouts found him, as soon as I was promoted I had to bring him in he will join in the January window I hope im not desperate for him and I feel he will add to the quality as another young talent

Claudio De Vecchi – Free

Failed to make a start in his four seasons at Inter Milan spent last season on Loan at Newcastle scoring twice in 10 games, I’m hoping to retrain him to predominantly a centre midfielder to add depth and quality to the squad.

Fernand Duval - £3.9m (£1m up front)

The left winger was picked up by my scouts while not brilliant at crossing his pace causes sides no end of problems and I like pace in my squad, the rest will be paid in instalments and I fully expect him to replace Matlak as my first choice winger.

Hernan Mazzotta - £1.2m

The Argentinian from Boca has signed to be my replacement for Duval he may even oust him to be first choice left winger but both have pace and quality should in injuries arise or suspensions the pace is what I was after and im happy with this signing

Andreas Prytz - £2.9m

This is my replacement for Massey he will do a good job as the guy non attacking midfielder of my middle two got him for his work rate and marking which is quality this is my last signing of the summer and ill be going into the season with what i have now

What a month, 9 points on the board already my aim is to get 19 points first and foremost (all other Sunderland fans know why!) then I’ll look to getting 40 points on the board for the magical safety number, the Chelsea game was a classic FM match a side dominating and the opposition scoring from their only chance of the game, well that opposition was me for a change, and we grabbed a vital three points we also got a solid win in the carling cup and a good three points over a fellow struggler, we played better when I brought Agus on.

One of each for us this month as the month went pretty much as planned, Beat West Brom who are struggling, grab a point from fellow new boys Everton and lose to title hopers Man City, ive started counter attacking, next month should be a good one for us lots of points up for grabs realistically we could pick up 6-12 so will be looking to keep hold of my mid-table spot. Very happy to beat Swansea in the league cup as we have made it into the quarter finals, no idea who ill be playing just yet but last 8 of the cup is a good run for us

Well 9 points from 15 it’s a respectable tally, and it takes us past my first target of 19 points, now I need to hit the 40 point mark for safety and I should do it with 22 points on the board by December it should happen, 8th place is a great for us so far, there are two defeats this month and they stick out badly we were completely outclassed by Arsenal and evey shot they took seemed to go into our net, the defense had a mare, and the 5-2 defeat to west ham was unlucky it really flattered them but we have points on the board and we are doing well to stay up.

Four oints from this month is a bonus I only expected to get three points this month with Liverpool beating us Hull beating us (they finished 4th last season ) and hull beat us comfortably, but holding Liverpool is a bonus, and the obligatory win over Fulham helped us on our way, and we were narrowly beaten by United, we even had real chances to win this game and were unlucky, The thing im happiest about is making the Semi’s of the League cup, alongside Hull and Sheff United I feel we have the hardest side of the draw but we just need to get to the final as anyone can win it.

Ten points from fifteen is a decent enough return for us this month disappointed we lost in the FA Cup but Arsenal are a big side and it was expected, The League cup hurt us the most as in the first leg we had plenty of chances to score but we just failed, the second leg was a decent enough game and if we had taken our chances in the first leg we would have made it to the final and a possible European berth, but it wasn’t to be there’s always next season, I was over the moon with draw with table toppers Blackburn we came from behind twice to claim the draw. It’s a split month for us next month ith two difficult games and two very winnable ones, so my target will be at least 4 points. Which will take us to the 40 point total I’ve been targeting.

Well next month is a short one for us as there’s only three league games to play all are tricky ties so not sure how many points I’ll get out of it.

A cracking way to end the season three points and eight place in the table, theres a few players from Villa I intend to try and sign, but no one else from the other recently relegated sides, Mocanu has finally started paying me back and will be our talisman next season, going to try and loan Rosa if spurs wont let us sign him next season, ive targets already lined up to start trying to sign but they must sign in the wage structure I have (im not prepared to bankrupt the club!) I will try and add quality over quantity and we have some decent cash behind us now.

So a decent starting month for us 4 points would have like 7 when I saw the fixture list as I expected a win against Swansea but maybe we were a little complacent, and didn’t perform as well as we should, we have got Marco Rosa back on loan for the season after I failed to sign a striker permanently, the league cup game was a great performance and we fully deserved to move into the next round. The biggest down side this season is us letting in so many goals we need to be tighter at the back,

Well the draw was a disappointing way to start the month as twice we conceded sloppy goals we need to hold onto the leads we have if we want to equal last season positioning. Prytz is showing to be some talent With Liverpool and Hoffenhiem sniffing round so early in the season. But even at such an early part of the season im even starting to realise where I need to replace players for next season. And in the game against City who will be pushing for the title we came away from Manchester City stadium, and 18 yr old Croatian Bogdan was brought onto the pitch out of position to cover the last 10 minutes at left wing, he scored a sweet strike to announce himself on the scene. Overall we have had a great month featuring on TV twice with the surprise win over City, then again in another edged win over Arsenal means we finished unbeaten this month and have had a great start to the season. Ive also tied down some players one to sign in January the other two to come in the summer, but ill wait till they sign before showing the world…

Well I picked this month out of the calendar as the most likely month for us to pick points up in, even more so when we seemed to have mastered the snatch n grab wins, as the game over Liverpool showed, after that game my main thoughts were I hope we can do this against the “lesser” sides, but we have been on fire this year so far. The draw with Bolton showed our issues we seem to cruise at 1-0 and then make a sloppy mistake we nearly did it again if it wasn’t for MAzzotta rescuing us the three points against Cardiff.
