You're probably gonna go through now which is an over-achievement given the quality of opposition. Cheers dude . The Bundesliga is certainly going to be tough, but Bayern seem to be slipping away a bit, making it a two horse race. I expect a much tougher test against United than I got in the first leg too. SRL88
SRL88's Career - March 2039 - Borussia Monchengladbach Bundesliga A perfect month for us at just the right time, with Leverkusen & Bayern faltering in the title race. The month started with a hard fought win over Dortmund, just days after our Pokal Semi-Final, and with both teams fielding pretty much completely different line-ups from that game it was a pretty boring game too. In the end, we managed to scrape the win with a Victor scoring a sublime effort. Next up was a tricky trip to Koln as we put in an assured performance to come away with a very good win indeed. A comfortable win over Jena followed before we rounded the month off with a hard fought win over Bremen to leave us 3pts clear at the top of the table. SRL88
March 2039 - Continued DFB Pokal Semi-Final A truely excellent win away to Dortmund in the Semi-Final. We started slowly in the game as Dortmund deservidly took the lead in the first half. We pulled level after 30 minutes and from there we took control. The second half was pretty much all ours as we scored two further goals to make it look comfortable. Dortmund pulled one back in stoppage time but it didnt matter as we booked our place in our third Final in a row. Our opponents there will be Bayern Munich. Champions League First Knockout Round 2nd Leg Well we managed to hold on to knock United out of the competition. We started very nervously as United scored inside the opening two minutes. They added a second to level the tie after just 15 minutes, but despite further pressure, an own goal on the brink of half-time gave us the advantage again. This seemed to take the sting out of United who didnt have an answer as they chased a further two goals. Marques scored with 15 minutes left on the clock to seal our passage into the next round. We will face Palermo, a side who we faced in last seasons Group Stage, in the Quater-Final with the winner of that facing either AC Milan or Real Betis in the Semi-Final. SRL88
SRL88's Career - April 2039 - Borussia Monchengladbach Bundesliga A brilliant month for us which saw us crowned Bundesliga Champions. We kicked things off with a brilliant performance at home to Wolfsburg as we comfortably beat them 3-0. The game against Kaiserslautern was a game of two halves. We raced into a 4-0 lead and took that lead into the interval, but we took our foot off the pedal in the second period and despite the fact that Kaiserslautern didnt really trouble us, two goals in the final 15 minutes left for a very nervy finish. We followed this up with a Bruno Marques inspired performance. Trailing 2-1 early in the second half, Marques kicked into gear, grabbing his second, third and fourth goals within 20 minutes. We added a fifth late on to score an excellent win. Marques continued this form against Stuttgart by grabbing a brace with Victor scoring the other. We managed to grind out a win against Schalke before a draw against Leverkusen rounded off the month, despite our domination. Champions League Quater-Final A bridge to far for us, but we didnt help ourselves. A poor first half display in Italy cost us massively in the tie. We conceded both our goals in that period and despite an improved second half display we couldnt grab a goal. That meant we had to push in the home leg and despite our best efforts, Palermo stood firm and picked us off late on on the counter attack to seal the tie. SRL88
DFB Pokal Final Route to Munich Borussia Monchengladbach A cracking run for us, and much tougher than in previous seasons. We breezed past Rosenheim in the 1st Round before a comfortable win over 1860. The Third Round brought about a tie against Frankfurt who took us to extra time, where our class showed as our opponents tired. We destroyed Kaiserslautern before a fantastic win away to Dortmund in the Semi-Final. Bayern Munich A pretty straightforward win in retrospect. They didnt face a Bundesliga side until the Final. They found it comfortable through each round until they were drawn away to Bochum in the Semi-Final. They were given a tough game there and were able to hold their nerves in a penalty shoot-out. The Match A brilliant win for us, but dont take the result for granted. Bayern started the much better side out of the two of us and really caused us problems. We scored close to half-time, somewhat against the run of play to give us the lead at the interval. The second half was very even and the tension was obvious. As Bayern started to press, without causing us a to many problems, we hit them on the counter and Geoff McAllister, on as a substitute crossed to another in Dumitru Popa to double our lead. Marques scored a second from a header off a free-kick as we clinched our third Pokal in a row.

SRL88
SRL88's Career - May 2039 - Borussia Monchengladbach Bundesliga Such a shame to end the season on a defeat, but it wasnt something which effected our season in any way. I fielded a much weakened team and it showed as we were sluggish. Bochum grabbed the only goal of the game in the first half. DFB Pokal Final A brilliant result for us as we managed to claim our third Pokal in a row. Bayern gave us a tough game, but we managed to grab the upper hand just before half time. We added two further goals in the second half to claim the double this season.

SRL88
SRL88's Career - Season Review - 2038/39 - Borussia Monchengladbach Bundesliga - Fixtures 1 - Results 2 (1st - CHAMPIONS) A brilliant season for us as we claimed our first Bundesliga title since 1977. We gave ourselves a brilliant chance in the first half of the season by keeping up with the pace set by Leverkusen & Bayern, but in the second half of the season we were absolutely brilliant. We went unbeaten until the very last game of the season and the superb run of form led us to the Bundesliga title. DFB Pokal (Winners) Our third Pokal in a row. We were given a much tougher route to the Final this year but took it in our stride. Frankfurt gave us a very tough tie in the Third Round by taking us to extra-time. The result away to Dortmund in the Semi-Final was a very pleasing one due to the difficulty of opponents. In the Final we were given a very tough game by Bayern, but our finishing was sublime as we claimed a 3-0 win. German Super Cup (Winners) A great way to start the season. We were the much better team and managed to claim a 2-0 win. Champions League (Knocked out in Quater-Final) Another excellent season for us in Europe. We breezed past Sampdoria to qualify for the Group Stage where we were given a much tougher test than last season. Atletico were way to strong for us and beat us in both games. Our main competition for 2nd place was Fiorentina who we managed to beat at home and grab a vital draw away from home. A win against Copenhagen ensured second in our group. Two excellent performances against Man Utd set up a tie against Palermo, but a poor first half showing in Italy was eventually our downfall as we left ourselves to much to do in the return leg. Transfers - Finances We spent in all the right areas this season to improve the squad and got rid of players which werent needed. Good business from us!!! The finances are very similar to last year. Squad This squad has a few more seasons left in it in my eyes. My Top 3 Players Bruno Marques - The screenshot speaks for itself really. A machine infront of goal and broke numerous records over the course of the season. Lapa - A cracking season. 9 goals from the full-back position is fantastic. Lima - His overall play just continues to get better with age. Definitely one of the best players I have managed. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| Season | Team | League | Country | League Position | Notes |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| 2011/12 | Kirklareli Spor | Second Division Group A | Turkey | 5th | Play-Off Quater Finalists || 2012/13 | Kirklareli Spor | Second Division Group A | Turkey | 3rd | Play-Off Semi Finalists |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| 2013/14 | Darlington | Blue Square Premier | England | 4th | Play-Off Semi Finalists, FA Trophy Runners-Up, | Appointed in October || 2014/15 | Darlington | Blue Square Premier | England | 2nd | Promoted via Play-Offs, FA Trophy Runners-Up || 2015/16 | Darlington | League Two | England | 3rd | Promoted || 2016/17 | Darlington | League One | England | 5th | Promoted via Play-Offs |-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| 2017/18 | Blackpool | Championship | England | 3rd | Promoted via Play-Off's || 2018/19 | Blackpool | Premier League | England | - tomtuck01
Have just caugfht up with things from the past day or so................massive congratulations from me dude. Not only did you manage to overhaul Bayern in the League, but you also gave them a bit of a bloody nose in the cup final! The news of the takeover is pretty good really; more money brings greater expectation. With things staying as they are you'll be able to get on with things as have been doing. SRL88
SRL88's Career - Season Preview - 2039/40 - Borussia Monchengladbach Board Expectations: Bundesliga: Challenge for the Title DFB Pokal: Reach the Semi-Final German Super Cup: Not Important Champions League: Reach the Group Stage My Expectations: Bundesliga: Be amongst the top 3 again DFB Pokal: A fourth in a row would be nice, but Im not overly fussed German Super Cup: If we win it then great, otherwise meh!! Champions League: I find the Board's expectation odd seen as though we are already there. We should be good enough for the Knockout Rounds again Budgets: Transfer: £15.2m Wage: £980,845 (Currently spending £859,186) Balance: £29,528,424 (-£5,007,305 since last season) Key Player(s): Tasos Christofi - Another of our players who is getting better & better. He is really leading the defence for us. Bruno Marques - Goal machine!!! Lapa - His attacking threat is just as valuable as his defensive qualities. Maarten Pleoger - Struck an instant partnership at the heart of the defence with Christofi. They really give us a solid base. Lima - There is a lot of interest brewing in this guy, but we need to keep hold of him.
